Summary: The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!
Review: This film by John Landis hardly needs to be reviewed but I will anyway. Animal House follows the misadventures of a group of Frat brothers and pledges at "Faber College". For the misbehavior they engage in they are placed on Double Secret Probation by the evil Dean Wormer who desires to rid the campus of these boys. The adventures these young men embark on involve just about any and everything...a drunken road trip, 3 scenes with farm animals, a food fight, lots of liquor, sex with under-aged girl, pot smoking, seducing married women, sex in cars, bra stuffing, picking up girls from the obituary column (no kidding), cheating on tests, vandalism, sexual toys/aids, indoor motorcycle riding...and that is only a sample! This movie is a rite of passage, there are many classic one liners in it and the sound track is great, the music reflects the mood and time perfectly. I saw that not all reviewers liked the movie...hey, what was that written on the Deathmobile?

Summary: Not perfect, but yet entertaining
Review: I feel I must respond to that last comment on Animal House. Granted, Belushi is the staple that hold this film, but there are many others that do so as well. It is not all Belushi; Matheson, Sutherland, Vernon, and Furst are all worthy to see in this film. It set standards for college obnoxiousness that were probably worse in real life. But National Lampoon did just that: it lampooned the reality. It was not as biting as the magazine, but neither were the Vacation films or any of the other rather bad films that they made within the past 10 years. Other than Animal House, Vacation, and Christmas Vacation, the others are terrible. The Blues Brothers a classic compared to Animal House? Incredible. You sit through that whole film to watch the car chases, especially the one at the end. In comparison Animal House is a laugh riot. If you want to be entertained and are looking for a good poke in the eye of college life, Animal House will fit the bill.

Summary: Um.. so this was the legendary "Animal House"!
Review: After receiving a flyer from a fellow college student to go toa Toga Spring Break party, I was curious and FINALLY got to see themovie that all of the other college flicks and fraternities pay homage to. I know that I am going against the grain here, but this movie was absolutely horrible! This was one of those movies that had to rely on one star to carry the entire feature. With the exception of Belushi's character, there was very little to actually laugh about, and even fewer characters to care for! Halfway through it, I had to fast forward through all of the other tired and cheap slapstick until I see Belushi's face just to get some laughs out of this! Come on guys! "Airplane" was a classic....."Porky's" was a classic..." THE BLUES BROTHERS" will always be a classic! But "Animal House" ! This must be a guy thing.

Summary: True To A Point
Review: A very entertaining movie, truly a college classic! While the lifestyles of the college fraternity have changed drastically since the "Toga, Toga, Toga" days of the 60's, it still serves as a cult favorite among many of America's youth. Watch and enjoy, but don't buy into all of it. Like any other comedy, it's purely fictional.

Summary: THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH!
Review: When you think of today's hit comedies such as There's Something About Mary,American Pie,etc.,they all have a gross-out type of humor. That kind of humor all started from this movie. John Belushi is so funny on here. Two freshmen decide to pledge The Delta faternity. And they never have had such a good time. Only, they couldn't have come at a worse time because, the princible Dean Wormer has them in double-secret probation. And the deltas will do anything to gain there rights back. They will get high with teachers, throw toga parties,go to all black bars,and........ make a float!Ok this was the one film that started it all.So I would reccomend it to anyone who enjoys humor,or comedies.

Summary: A True Comedy You'll Always Enjoy Seeing
Review: National Lampoon's Animal House is a classic that had a significant effect on TV and movie comedies long after its introduction in 1978. With just the right combination of satire, parodies and jokes on college life in the early 60's, it's a perpetual favorite in our family. I was fortunate to be present during the movie's making in my home town of Eugene, Oregon in November 1977, including witnessing D-Day's entrance on his motorcycle. We enjoy watching it for the content and for being able to recognize every location in it. (This movie was shown for some years at Eugene's Mayflower Theater, directly across the street from the actual location of the 'Delta' house. The frat house's purpose in real life was a work-release center for ex-convicts, ironically enough.) Bluto on the ladder, Pinto's 'good guy-bad guy' mental debate on sex, Bluto stuffing an entire sandwich in his mouth in the cafeteria, Otis Day and the Knights, and Donald Sutherland introducing a few of his students to marijuana are unforgettable comedy highlights among many in the film. A bit corny at times, maybe, but the movie is just plain fun. It's a must-see for all ages.

Summary: John Belushi who can compare?
Review: John Belushi is my favorite actor and since he has very few movies since his death I really enjoy him in this one. Its a total frat movie and it defines the rule for the beginning of the Animal House series of fraturnaties. I am not a frat boy but I love the genre of this movie. John Belushi saying "Toga Toga" always brings a tear to my eye. So suck back a cold one on me and watch this movie you wont regret it.

Summary: TOGA, TOGA, TOGA, TOGA!
Review: A hilariously funny adult-themed movie that has provided keen entertainment for an entire generation; and which should continue to provide many future generations with the same. All of you with a college education should be able to recall that one fraternity of misfits so ubiquitous to campuses in this country; this film presents a convincing idea of what life would be like in such a fraternity. This is one film which presents adult themes and profanity in a way that enhances the quality of the film; this is probably the reason the television series based on this film was such a failure. Also while watching this film, we should all get a feeling of loss when we see the late John Belushi in one of the finest performances of his too-brief film career.
