Summary: Classic Film with Tons of Laughs!
Review: Some Like It Hot is a wonderful movie that pretty much everyone will enjoy. The cast dishes out a top notch performance. I'm not a huge Monroe fan, but she delivers a convincing performance as the ditzy blonde (for some reason I don't think it was too far from the truth). Tony Curtis does his best imitation of Cary Grant as he tries to get Monroe's interest and Jack Lemmon is first-class in his usual role of the friend everyone takes advantage of. Billy Wilder is a great director and this film is a gem that should not be missed by any movie fan!!

Review: For once the critics got it right! This classic is truly the best and most brilliant ever filmed!So much has been written about the problems with the magnificent Monroe but it certainly does not show in her flawless performance and that is all that matters! She went on to win a Golden Globe and deserved an Oscar nomination too! Watching this film is like catapulting back to the roaring '20's! Curtis is a riot, Lemmon is, was and always will be one of the greatest actors, whether in comedy or drama and Monroe gives, in my opinion, quite simply, the greatest comedy performance by an actress ever filmed!

Summary: Some Like It Hot
Review: Some Like It Hot in DVD widescreen viewed on a 19 inch monitor in black and white is a wonderful movie. The Hotel Del Coronado is the "Florida" resort and the structural beauty of that building can truly be appreciated. THe acting and dialog are wonderful, with real wit and genuine humor. I have seen this movie before, but the combination of DVD widescreen and high resolution from the computer monitor, make the experience close to what one would obtain from the theatrical presentation. I like it.

Review: Voted the funniest film of all time "Some Like It Hot" is that rarest of things: a movie that just gets better & better with repeat viewing. So... unlike many DVD's that will languish on your shelf after a couple of outings this one will pay you back with years of enjoyment. And... if you already have it on video or DVD, this new version justifies its price for its high quality remastering and the two marvellous "bonus" interviews with Tony Curtis and four "girls from the band" that add real insights into the making of the film and the electric interaction between Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon & Tony Curtis that is its most stunning feature. Wonderful stuff!

MARILYN MONROE.There, I've said it. The main reason for seeing this film.
(Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are good too.) Buy it, watch it, love it. Put on a dress and LIVE it. The first mainline drag film ever made. A classic. Tootsie, eat your heart out! Priscilla, get down on your knees in the desert and give praise to the original. Wong Foo, love ya, but this came first. Watch the Special Edition of this DVD for a treat: the original lineup of "Sweet Sue's Society Syncopaters" reminisce about the making of the film and about Marilyn. (And we learn just whose body MM's head was pasted onto for all the original advertising artwork for the film!) Tony Curtis has a pottymouth. He smirks and sneers while telling tales of Marilyn's "bad little girl" behavior. (In his dreams!) Marilyn had an intense dislike for Curtis, which was only exacerbated by the making of this film. No way did she behave toward him in the manner he states in this smarmy interview with the washed-up relic. A classic film, a great presentation on DVD. Loved it!

Summary: Best comedy of the 20th century
Review: I have to admit that I agree with the AFI. This is probably the best comedy made in the last century. How can you go wrong with Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis is drag? Marilyn Monroe is a treat to watch as the drinking-on-the-sly lead singer of the all-women's band that Lemmon and Curtis hide out in after witnessing a mob hit. The DVD has many fun extras, too. Highly recommended.

Summary: Umm, am I allowed to say that SOME LIKE IT HOT was not geat?
Review: okay, I'm sorry everybody, and I mean nothing against everyone who loves this movie, but I sincerely did not like it. It wasn't funny, at all, I mean, that situation comedy is really good this time, but it was just a jumble of ideas here. Which is weird, I love billy wilder's other movies, it's just this one was not too great. I just didn't like it. It was rather unfunny. See blazing saddles or the big lebowski or something, just not this. The apartment is also great. JUST NOT THIS.

Summary: Friends Of The Italian Opera!
Review: This is one of my favorite movies! The players are fantastic, the direction is superior and the screenplay is truly perfect. Curtis, Lemmon and Monroe make up one of the best two male, one female trios since The Philidelphia Story. Billy Wilder's excellent timing and supberb eye for setting and mood helped him create one of the most atmospheric comedic peices that I have ever seen! I truly felt like I was back in southern Florida! And the DVD is great to! There are plenty of extra features, incluincluding trailers, featurettes and photo galleries. The print is georgeous! The blacks are so deep, I thought my brightness was too high!
Easily one of my top 10 favorite comedies! It is one of my VERY RARE 5-star picks! If you haven't seen it, rent it! If you don't like it, watch it again! It will grow on you fast!
