Summary: ALL ABOUT MARGO SHOULD BE THE TITLE!!!
Review: i've seen this one 10 times already, and i've never been tired of it!!! I SWEAR, IT'S NEVER 'A BUMPY NIGHT' WHEN I WATCH 'EVE'... all concerned deserved their nominations and awards (unlike 'titanic')...bette davis and george sanders 'genius' in this film is unlike any other!!! even marilyn monroe was absolutely wonderful!!! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME!!! buy this one, you will never regret it...remember 'if you get bored, you can always go to the nursery, where i'm sure you'll be entertained' paraphrasing the great margo channing describing eve harrington (if that's what she's calling herself nowadays!!!)

Summary: Welcome to the theater!
Review: One of the most brilliantly written, fantastically directed, electrically acted films of all time, All About Eve remains one of the truly great films of the 1950's,(it's hard to choose just one film in what was arguably Hollywood's greateset decade.) The script is one of the best ever written, with lines that, no matter how many times you hear it, will have you in stitches, and scenes that you'll find yourself rewinding over and over again, gawking at how witty and genuinly perfect they are. The brilliant direction by Joseph L Mankiewicz and the truly outstanding acting, however, are on par with the script. Bette Davis is remarkable as Margo Channing, but please don't think she chews up and spits out everything and everyone in sight. She is more the focal point in a beautifully woven tapestry of acting, with great performances by the entire cast, with include George Sanders, Celestle Holm, Hugh Marlowe, Thelma Ritter, and Anne Baxter as the the icy Eve. I don't want to bore you with my gushing, so I'll just say this: If you haven't already, please see All About Eve, a movie that will change your perspective on just how great film can be.

Summary: " EVE EVIL, LITTLE MISS EVIL! "
Review: This classic film is Bette Davis' masterpiece. She is absolutely right on target as the aging theater legend being threatened by an up and coming young actress. Bette just REVELS in this juicy role. As the young actress, Anne Baxter is stunning. What a fine actress she was! George Saunders is wonderful as the acerbic theater critic, and Thelma Ritter gives a bravura performance as Bette's secretary/dresser/confessor. This movie is filled with fine acting and witty dialog. It really makes you feel that you are part of that wonderful "theater world". If I could I'd give it ten stars!

Summary: The most beautiful movie of the century
Review: I've never seen anything like this movie: a beautiful "affresco" on the theatre and on the american society. The dialogues are simply great, Thelma Ritter, Celeste Holm, Annem Baxter shlould have been given with an oscar; Bette Davis is simply Bette Davis!!! Academy Award should have felt ashamed of the Oscar given to Judy Holliday instead of her, in 1950!

Summary: "I'll marry you if you have no blood at all..."
Review: It's witty, it's charming, and it's Bette Davis at her finest. Some people have said she modeled the character of Margo Channing after Talulah Bankhead, but watch the movie and I'm sure you'll agree that Margo Channing seems like Bette Davis through and through.

And watch out for Anne Baxter and George Sanders - there's WAY more than meets the eye to both of their characters.

Summary: Very good film about the theater and life in general

Summary: Piercing comedy - Bette Davis is simply divine.
Review: This is, undoubtedly, the most skillful comedy to ever grace the screen. Forget the others. "All About Eve" is entirely fresh, entirely Davis. The script is the most original in this genre, it introduces fascinating methods of filmaking, sadly, now cliche in the passing of time. But it loses not its brilliance: As a comedy that established comedy, Icy wit, and superior comedic acting.

Summary: So, tell me...were YOU swept away too?
Review: This is truly one of my favorite classic movies of all time. And considering the competition (Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Mildred Pierce, The Women), that's saying something.

Bette Davis was robbed of the Best Actress Oscar that year...she wasn't just playing a role, she WAS Margo Channing. With the late 40's and early 50's style of overacting, Bette was completely believeable, no doubt from the impeccible script.

This movie succeeds on all levels - drama, comedy, and romance. Thelma Ritter, as Bette's companion, is a whoot, with lines witty enough for even today's audience to relate to. And Anne Baxter, while a bit over-dramatic as Eve, has her moments when you want to just smack her!

The definitive classic, from one of the classic's most definitive stars! See it!

Summary: Touched Me In A Special Way!
Review: What a film! The story of ruthless competition between two actresses Eve Harrington and Margo Channing is brought flawlessly to the screen. A gem. Too difficult to describe for up to only 1,000 words. Also EQUALLY RECOMMENDED is Mr. Mankiewicz's film "A Letter To Three Wives," a film reviewed by me back in February. For "Wives," Mr. Mankiewicz won his 1st much-deserved Academy Award. For "Eve," his second. Both of them are worth all the stars in the world. Joseph Mankiewicz is a true genius!
