Summary: pretty good show
Review: My opion on the movie The Birds, is that I think it was a great movie for its time. I think that the special effects from the 60's are pretty good. Even thoe it was filmed inthe 60's, I think that some fo the background sceneryand special effects could have been better. Tippi Hedren, who played Melanie Daniels, played a good part, but seemed to be a little stiff in her acting. Ithink her acting was the worst when she and mitch, lydia, and Kathy Breener were all locked in the house. Her acting was horrible. It looked fake and, even her hear seemed fake. All in all, the characters did fit there role. The end of the film kind of left you hanging because it hed no real closure. It left me thinking that there should be a sequel, but there is driving off, It looked like nothing was out there to leave you in suspense and make you think twice about it and and draw your own conclusion. I think that this film can't really be compared to modern day horror films because there is just so much technology for makes to use today that makes a movie greatthat wasn't afordable in the 1960's. The movie The Birds, is ledgenday, it will always be considered a "horror Film". I give the movie a 4 because it was a good movie.

Summary: I felt this movie stopped right in the middle.
Review: This movie was not my kind of movie. I like horror films, but this movie didn't seem like a hrror film. It was more of a drama. I'm sure people from 1963 liked it. The special effects of the movie were pretty cool, like how the birds acted so crazly and how all different kinds of birds were surrounding the characters. I wondered how that was done. One thing that was really missing from the movie was music. In a horror film there has to be music or the movie is less interesting and less suspenseful. The ending of the movie upset me because Hitchcock didn't tell why the birds acted so crazly or what they were after. I like endings where there is a conclusion. Everything is explained such as who did what and why. The movie needed some more action, it was too dull.

Summary: the birds
Review: Ithought that the movie The Birds directed by Alfred Hitchcock was a very good movie for being filmed in the 60s'. The special effectscould have had a little work in making them seem more realistic.I didnt care for the scene when Lidia Brener (Jessica Tandy)had found Deke Carter in the room with his eyes all gouged out because she ran out of the room without screaming one bit.I thought the actors fit thier roles well. The end of the film was cool because nobody won. They didnt defeat the birds, and the birds didnt kill them which is an unusual ending for a horror movie now a days. The end of the film had me glued to my seat because I

Summary: All around, I feel it's a good movie.
Review: The movie "The Birds", by Alfred Hitchcock is good for being made in the sixties. The movie could be made a little better in some areas. When Melanie is crossing the bay, and the camera shows her,the background isn't going with her strokes and it seams unrealistic. All around, I feel it's a good movie. The special effects in the movie could have been improved. There should have been music parts where the birds attacked, it would have made it more interesting. As I said before the background in many places did not keep up with the characters. However, when Hitchcock got the birds to attack, the special effects rate

Summary: This is a decent movie.
Review: In my opinion The Birds was a very god movie for it's time. I found it interesting that there was no sound track. I like that because it allows you to make up the music in your head. Keep in mind that this film was made in 1963, so there is no way that you can compare it to the movies of today. Hitchcock had decent special effects, like the scene in the bird shop. I would like to know how they did that. The ending fits the film because both it and the film itself make you use your imagenation. Like I said earlier, there is no music which adds up to the suspence. Also there wasn't an ending so you had to use your imagenation to create what you tought would happen.

Summary: A movie that could've and should've been better.
Review: In my opinion, the movie "The Birds," was boring and motionless for the majority of the film. The only parts that sparked intrest are when the birds attacked. I think one reason the movie was dull and bland was because there was no suspense music. I think the right music can make or break a movie, and it broke this movie, badly. On the aspects of special effects, I thought the fact that the birds were real was interesting, and how Hitchcock got them trained to attack. I'm sure at the time it was the coolest thing. I think that Tippi Hedren played a good Melanie Daniels. Everyone seemed to fit their respective roles very well, for a 60's movie. I think that the reason Hitchcock left us hanging at the end was because that was the horror part; we could use or imaginations. If I were to try and compare this to a made-for-TV-horror movie, I still think it was weak compared to that. Instead of horror, I think it should be classified as classic horror. On a rating of 1-5 I think I would have to give it a 2 because it had some moments.

Summary: An okay movie.
Review: The movie The Birds, was an okay movie. It desperatly was in need of some kind of soundtrack other than the single song that the children sang. It was repeated so many times that it gave me a headache. I belive a soundtrack would have added suspence. The actress who played Melanie Daniels, Tippi Hedren, was given speical treatment. As were most of hitchcock's leading ladies. I belive that this speical treatment made her act better than the other actors. Which wasn't true by a long shot!!! Rod Taylor was a much better actor, I think that he did a much better job.

Summary: A masterpiece
Review: Even though many US critics didn't know what to do with it, many European film directors (suchas Federico Fellini) considered THE BIRDS to be Hitchcock's masterpiece at the time it was released. Time has certainly proven that is one of his most extraordinary films.

While it's easy to enjoy this on the most basic of levels as a pure thriller, you can also see THE BIRDS as a complex study of the responsibilities humans have for one another, and how they have to learn to suffer. The subtle relationships between the lawyer Mitch Brenner and the women in his life is put to a test when the wealthy heiress Melanie Daniels comes to his coastal village--bringing with her (unwittingly) the onslaught of the birds. The performances of the three lead actresses--Tandy, Pleshette, and particularly Hedren (in her first film!)--as the three brittle figures vying for Mitch's attention are absolutely superlative. The jungle gym sequence is a classic, as is the great scene where Tandy goes to visit her farmer friend. Not to be missed.

Summary: Awesome suspense-filled incredible movie!
Review: Overlooked by many critics and fans, The Birds has to be Hitch in his finest form! UNbelieveable heart-pounding suspense and fear which can inject a lifelong fear of birds into the viewer. None of hitch's films came to this point of power, violence, or intensity. A must see for anyone who's game.

Summary: Riveting! And I've fallen in love with Tippi Hedren!
Review: This movie somehow escaped me till now. I wasn't born when it first came out in theaters, but it sure holds up with suspense and good acting. I loved it -- and I've become a Tippi Hedren fan because of it. Saw her recently on a TV movie, and she was just wonderful!
