Summary: My Favorite Hayley Mills Movie!
Review: The Parent Trap starring Hayley Mills, Maureen O'Hara and Brian Keith is one of my favorite Disney movies and probably my favorite of Hayley Mill's movies and this movie proves that a good Disney movie doesn't always have to be a cartoon! I think this is such a sweet charming movie and I highly recommend it!

Summary: I'm not saying a word, but
Review: This is a great getaway movie. This is one that can be watched several times before getting all the nuances. According to the film credits, this movie is based on the Doppelganger. Others say that is was done before as 1954 British film "TWICE UPON A TIME." Any way you look at it this is a unique film tat will never be duplicated or equaled.
Hayley Mills plays Sharon McKendrick/Susan Evers twin sisters. They were separated and rediscovered each other in camp. Maureen O'Hara plays the mother, Margaret 'Maggie' McKendrick, who is strait laced, until competition arises. Joanna Barnes plays, Vicky Robinson, the competition. I won't go through the whole cast but I especially liked Leo G. Carroll as Rev. Dr. Mosby. He was there every time you turned around and not reacting, as they would think he would act.
The film was shot in California. It looks funny that Sharon is driven to the camp and Sharon is flown to the camp. I don't recall seeing redwoods in New England. The pictures that the twins show each other of their parents look like movie photo Promotion shots.

Summary: No Wide Screen on this DVD and/or does anyone care?
Review: I've been waiting for years for Disney to release their series of live action classics on DVD. At last one of the best if not the best is coming out on DVD. The Parent Trap is a 5 star movie; nuff said. According to the IMDb the original theatrical release had a 1.75:1 aspect ratio; the new DVD's appear to be 1.33:1. Why in the world is Disney releasing these movies in full screen format? Why buy the DVD when it will look no different than VHS. Sadly as usual Disney always seems to get their way at the expense of the consumer!Ah ha, now 2 months later I see the aspect ratio has been revised to 1.66:1. It's still not the original ratio but I suspect it may have been a typo. Pollyanna still shows 1.33:1.

Summary: The original is still the best
Review: This is, I guess, the original Disney Parent Trap, with Hayley Mills -- Buena Vista has just announced (I'm writing this in (date)) that the original film will be released next year.
The remake was good in its own way, but nothing succeeds like the original.
Now we'll just have to wait for the other Disney/Hayley Mills classic, Pollyanna.
These films were our favourites for showing our children when they were young. Now they watch 'Withnail and I' with us, or The Matrix or Starship Troopers. But those old 'family' movies are still so great; long may we be able to keep enjoying them!

Review: This movie is the bomb. It is yet another family film but still one of the best. Based on Twin sisters who meet at summer camp and switch places to get thier parents back togather. Also see the 1998 film of the Parent Trap if you like this one. I love both but I like this one a little better.

Summary: Double your Hayley Mills fun
Review: In her second Disney film, Hayley plays twins who meet at Summer camp. This movie is terrific fun and can be viewed endlessly.The twins who meet at Summer Camp discover their parents divided them when they were divorced. Neither one of them knew they were an identical twin as the lived in different parts of the country. This movie is terrific fun.I would recommend it

Review: Hayley Mills stars as Sharon McKendrick AND Susan Evers in this classic 1961 Disney film. They meet each other at summer camp accidentally,thinking that they look-alikes.They are! By switching identities,they get their parents together. Maureen O'Hara and Brian Keith star in this classic comedy. Songwriters Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman write three songs in this film: the title song sung by Tommy Sands and Annette Funicello,"For Now,For Always" sung by Maureen O'Hara, and "Let's Get Together" sung by Hayley Mills. The song was also sung by Funicello in the dance scene. Lindsay Lohan took over Hayley's roles in a 1998 remake of "The Parent Trap". You can also hear her sing "Let's Get Together". This movie is fun for all ages!

Summary: highly entertaining
Review: Hayley Mills, Maureen O'Hara and Brian Keith star in the classic Disney THE PARENT TRAP, a delightful comedy of two girls who discover they are twins, and decide to reunite their divorced parents. The original film still holds up pretty well, despite being re-made in 1998 with Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson and newcomer Lindsay Lohan, and the story is really enjoyable. The script and direction, both by David Swift, are impeccable, as is the supporting cast that includes Una Merkel, Joanna Barnes, Leo G. Carroll, Nancy Kulp and Charlie Ruggles. Annette Funicello and Tommy Sands sing the title song, written by the Sherman brothers who also wrote the songs "Let's Get Together" and "For Now, For Always". A favorite of mine ever since I can remember, THE PARENT TRAP is one classic Disney film no-one should miss.

Summary: If you haven't seen it, just why not?
Review: Every rainy, snowy, stormy, windy, blustery - let's face it, any day when you can't do anything but stay inside and do nothing - I watch the Parent Trap. Don't ask me how I've managed to watch it, beginning to end, so many times in my life without driving everyone I know crazy, but by the 100th time I've seen it, it's not like I'm going to stop any time soon. In fact, as I'm writing this review, I'm watching it again... I first watched it when I was six, catching it on the disney channel when looking for something to watch. It was pretty late in the movie, and I found out the ending before I ever knew who any of the characters were. But I was hooked. I taped it when I caught it again - by then age eleven, and years and years later, it's not like I'm going to stop watching it. I told everyone who had never seen it, "See it! Now!" and even met Hayley Mills when she was travleing in "The King and I", telling her how I loved the Parent Trap. She nodded, gave me her autograph, and said, "Thank you." Watch the Parent Trap. Brighten your day up a lot.
