Summary: Great for the Entire Family
Review: This movie brings together two Hollywood legends. Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball play widows who fall in love and bring their families together totalling an amazing 18 children! This star-studded classic includes Van Johnson and a very young and handsome Tim Matherson. The film is full of laughter and brings the viewers into the lives of the North/Beasley family and shares their adventures and growing love for one another. I truly appreciate the release of this wonderful film on DVD, but widescreen would have greatly been appreciated. With 18 children, widescreen is a must! Also a few more extra features would have been nice, such as commentary, photos, etc.. but beggers can't be choosers.
The picture is crisp on the DVD and the sound is quite clear. I highly recommend this movie for the whole family. It's got some lessons of love and life that all can learn from.

Summary: 5 star movie but a 4 star DVD!
Review: This is a Wonderful and hilarious movie, and my favorite Lucille Ball movie and one of my favorite Henry Fonda movies. Though Yours Mine and Ours is a wonderful movie I just can't totally love a DVD that only has it in full frame, well at first I saw it in full frame and I thought maybe it wasn't filmed in wide screen or maybe it was originally a made for television movie but after seeing this classic shown in wide screen on the Turner Classic Movie channel I saw just how much better this movie is and that says this was a theatrical movie and who in their right mind would film a theatrical movie in 1968 in full frame? If a wide screen DVD becomes available I will buy it in a flash and treasure it! I would only buy the full frame DVD if I saw it in a store that sells used DVDs and the price was very low or a new DVD was on sale at a very a low price and it was too good of a deal to pass.

Summary: My mother was only 20 when this movie came out.......
Review: so needless to say I wasn't even thought of yet, I'm only 20 right now, yet this is one of my favorite movies! I've always loved Lucille Ball, not really Lucy and Desi, just Lucy which is why I love Yours, Mine and Ours so much. I really love the story line of a man and a woman, whos spouces have both died, falling in and getting married and joining together their families to form one large, large family. This is a movie both young and old alike will fall in love with and treasure as a classic for the rest of their lives.

Summary: Sweet, Funny, and Warm-hearted Movie
Review: I love this movie! Based on the true story of newlyweds with 18 children between them, this is a very enjoyable comedy with old-fashioned family values. Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda are wonderful as the couple who use humor, patience, and discipline to manage their big family, which then becomes even bigger. This movie can be enjoyed by all ages. There is no swearing, violence, or explosions...just love between husband and wife and parent and child. 5 stars.

Summary: Wonderfully warm and delightfully enchanting
Review: In this movie with the late Henry Fonda and the late Lucille Ball, is blithely entertaining with amusing anecdotes of a family.
About a beautiful widow naval nurse trying to raise eight children on her own. Accidently meets a nice, handsome widowed naval officer when he brings one of his children into the hospital. With his military life, he learns how that raising children involves more tenderness than the demanding discipline he's accustomed. Along the way, he find's love again with a new family.
One of his children, is played by a little girl whose paternal grandparents were the venerated Ozzie Nelson's. The little girl, Tracey, had no acting experience before, and just like her paternal grandmother, Harriet Hilliard Nelson, who herself made her stage debut at the tender age of six weeks with superb poise, gave an equally fine performance.
As a toddler, Tracey appeared along with her cousin, Daniel Blair, Mr. and Mrs. Ozzie Nelson's first grandson, born on August 20, 1962 to the proud parents of David and June Nelson, on their grandparents television show titled: "The Adventure's of Ozzie and Harriet." But, Tracey and Dannny's acting experiences had amounted to little more than a "visit." It all began when Tracey's mother received a telephone call from a man who had seen Tracey on the "Ozzie and Harriet" show. He asked if they could send him a photograph of Tracey. They did, and the next thing they knew the people at the movie studio asked if they could bring Tracey down to meet them. Well, Tracey's mother was already some eight-and-a-half months pregnant when production began on "Yours, Mine, and Ours," but agreed to go there with her. When Tracey went into the office, they talked with her a while. She answered their questions, but was surprisingly quiet throughout the entire session. Her mother could see she had something on her mind and when they got up to leave, Tracey put her thoughts into action. She went into the motions of an ice skater, made an imaginary turn on the imaginary rink and promptly fell down. The fact that she had won herself a role in an important movie didn't mean a thing to her. She would much rather have completed her turn on the ice!
Her young parent's admitted that they permitted their daughter to make this movie, because of the two actors involved. "Tracey fell in love with Henry Fonda," her mother said proudly. "She would come from the studio and talk about her 'pretend poppa' with such devotion, such love. And, her mother understood that Henry Fonda was wonderful with all the children; that he always tok time out to talk with them and listen to them. "Of course, Tracey adored her 'pretend momma' also. And, whenever Tracey saw Lucille Ball on television after making of their film together was over, and no longer saw her in person. She makes sure to point her out to everyone in the room as 'my pretend momma.' Outside of the wonderful relationship, little Tracey developed with the late Lucille Ball and the late Henry Fonda, she didn't appear at all impressed with her 'movie star' experiences.' This was her last film, no more as a child she made, until she left Bard College after three months. When on her own, she began her career as an actress. Her father was killed in a plane accident shortly after. He said of his daughter at the time, "We had to let her go. First of all, we knew the people invovled in the film and we knew what kind of role she would be playing. All she had to do in the production was stand there with the other children. There weren't going to be any exhausting demands made upon her. It wouldn't interfere with her school work or her home life. She would always be in good hands on the set."
Her mother added:"It was an experience for her. As parents, we cannot deny her the right to grow in many areas and so long as we weighed everything about it and found it to be perfectly all right we had to, my husband Rick said, let her go; let her add this experience to her education."
About nine weeks after production began was Tracey's fourth birthday. At her birtday party, a little boy who was in her class at prekindergarten at the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, asked if he could see the twins. Her newborn baby brothers born about six weeks before. Tracey let the little boy with her paternal grandfather, Ozzie, following behind into the nursery and proudly displayed her Two baby brothers, who were asleep in their bassinets. The little boy was obviously disappointed. He said,"They're not twins," "of course they are," said four year old Tracey. "No, they're not," the little boy said. "They're not stuck together." "They have never been stuck together." said Tracey proudly.
In the movie, if Tracey looks pensive, perhaps she's thinking about her "ice skating career," or the drawing she didn't have a chance to finish when the director called her onto the set.
Her mother said wisely, "we raise children to leave us, but while they're with us, we must be grateful for every moment we can share with them."
This movie also more than thirty years after it was filmed is not dated. It gives lessons of affection and warmth ten fold. And, my little cousin now, looks identical like what preschooler Tracy looked like. As many little children look alike, i wonder how she grow up. But, as Tracey's mother said, we have to enjoy them along the way. The glory years are everyday of growth.

Summary: Blended Families
Review: In a change of pace from her usual goofy, zany tv characers, Lucille Ball plays a widowed mother of eight kids that falls in love with Henry Fonda, a widower/naval officer with ten kids. If that sounds like a famous tv program, it is sort of, but that doesnt' take away from the enjoyment of this film. Fonda and Ball are terrific together, and it is nice to see Lucy playing someone a little more real and normal. She brings her great comedy timing, but also a lot of warmth and decency to the character. The scenes with the eighteen kids in the house are a lot of fun, as is Lucy's drunk scene and the scenes surrounding their blind dates. This isn't a hysterically funny, holding-your-side kind of comedy, but it is a warm, affectionate look at the perils of blended families, which in the hands of Ball, Fonda, and some good child actors, is very amusing and entertaining.

Summary: This is a timeless classic worth owning!
Review: I remember seeing this movie as a child but didn't remember the name of the movie. It's one of a few movies that I always remembered and searched through countless video reviews to try to locate. I was ecstatic when I found it and, unlike many fond memories of things from my youth, I was not at all disappointed when I watched this for a second time. It was as enjoyable as ever! And my 11-year-old son enjoys it as well! It's so nice to know that some movies don't have to be remade or "spiced up" to still be appreciated by today's culture. Yes, having a family of 18 children might seem outlandish to some, but I would much rather my children watch classic movies like this one as opposed to watching some of the filthy and raunchy stuff out there today....
