Review: I'm an admitted fan of the Beatles, and I have not yet gotten tired of this movie! Anyone interested in 60's music or culture should find something worthwhile here. Anyone interested in subtle British humor should find something worthwhile here! I notice new jokes with each viewing. The soundtrack is amazing: "I Need You" is beautiful, if perhaps more obscure than the unforgettable title track. "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" is said to be Lennon's tribute to Dylan: folky, melancholy, awesome. Listen for the various background arrangements of Beatles tunes in the "oriental" and elsewhere. Lots here to love! Rent it a couple times and you'll begin to understand this classic's lasting appeal.

Summary: The Beatles are babes, okay?
Review: Whoever said John was "fat" in this movie wasobviously on crack. The Beatles are way hotter in this movie than in AHard Day's Night- not that they were so bad in that movie, but I think it's something about the hair. My favorite part is when John tells everyone who is trying to help them that they're either a failure or that they've failed. I guess he thought that this movie is like making a movie about clams that was supposed to be about frogs- I swear to God, that's what he said. But, the only thing is, what's up with that poor girl that Paul literally plays like a cheap guitar on the beach? I mean, it's just kind of tacky and sexist... but other than that, this movie kicks... "Jeweler, you've failed!" END

Summary: One of the best!
Review: I first saw this movie when I was nine years old; it's still one of my favorites. John, Paul, George and Ringo are funnier in this film than in A Hard Day's Night, because the humor is much more natural to their personalities. Much ad-libbing is present, so the action seems more real-life (or would, if the plot wasn't so bizarre). John Lennon especially lets his goofy sense of humor go, and his one-liners are some of the best parts of the film. Great music with wonderful accompianing footage tops the glass. A major must-see for any person of any age.

Summary: This ain"t Gone With The Wind!
Review: And I have never heard Clark Gable sing Lennon and McCartney! I guess you really had to be there to really enjoy this movie. There are few things that preserve the past like film and this one certainly does preserve the flavor of the times. This film does not make a great political statement...its just a lot of fun. You can argue movie titles, it was originally "Eight Arms to Hold You", I have the first release of the 45 from "Help" and the lable on the record reads "Eight Arms to Hold You", refering obviously to four Beatles times two arms or maybe the goddess of the religeous faithful of the movie. Watch this movie with someone who was there they can try to explain the feeling of the times. You can criticize the plot or the lack there of, but this is not your Oscar winning "Gone with the Wind...its just a lot of fun...so enjoy!

Summary: Forgive Me For Liking It
Review: No, it's not as authentic as A Hard Days Night, yes the Beatles were high during the majority of the filming, but come on...it's the BEATLES. It's just them in a very Monkee-esque fashion, with Ringo as the star, singing some great tunes along the way. You can't call yourself a fan if you don't at least hum along...

Summary: If you haven't seen it you need ,Help!
Review: I adore this movie! It never gets old and every time I watch it I see something new that I didn't notice before. I got it for Christmas (1999)and didn't expect to like it all that much because my dad had said it had a weak plot but when I did watch it I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe (the only down side was then I missed some of the other hilarious jokes)Recently while at a fellow beatles fan's house I made her watch Help and she loved it so much that we watched it three times!The music is awesome and is the kind that gets super-glued in your head . Thanks to me my neighborhood loves the Beatles! Ringo is FABULOUS!

Summary: Help! This movie is a mess!
Review: The only good thing about this movie are the Beatles themselves. The plot(and I'm being generous when I call it that ) is very weak and not funny. If everything else could be edited out except when the Beatles are either performing or on screen by themselves then we would have something watchable. It is way too scripted. The Beatles are at their best just being themselves as in a "Hard Days Night"

Review: Man that movie rocked and rolled me. They were so full and witty back in the early 60's. The movie rocked, I can't get over it. My favorite part was when they are trying to get Ringo's rind in the bathroom. All I have to say about that is "Hu ho. Ho. Ho."ÿ

Review: This movie is just watchable--if you happen to be a Beatles nut (like me) and you happen to be particularly in the mood. Otherwise look at "A Hard Day's Night" instead. By the way: 1) George Martin did produce the Beatles album "Help!", but he did not score the movie "Help!"--as he scored the movie "A Hard Day's Night". 2) "Eight Arms to Hold You" was a title under consideration at one point, but so was "Eight Days a Week". ("Eight Arms to Hold You" obviously derives from "Eight Days a Week", and "Eight Days a Week" obviously derives from "A Hard Day's Night".) 3) The ultimate source--as far as has been determined--of the phrase "a hard day's night" was Ringo Starr, but John Lennon put it in his book "In His Own Write", and that is where director Richard Lester encountered it. (Lennon considered it "found poetry", so to speak. He called it a Ringo "malapropism".) 4) Lennon said in interviews he likes to think of his song "Help!" as a personal statement, but he also said that this is merely a coincidence: he wrote the song for the movie and at Richard Lester's insistence.

Review: Help! isn't quite as funny as Hard Day's Night perhaps because they actually had a "solid story line". While HDN had a script it seemed to have matched the true Beatles' sense of humor and style. Help! is quite good in it's own right but don't expect a sequel to Hard Day's Night
