Summary: A silly, funny, serious sci-fi action flick.
Review: Trigun is a complex piece of anime. It starts out as a lighthearted western comedy with sci-fi elements and slowly turns into a very serious science fiction story.
The story basically tells the story of Vash the Stampede, a gun sliging man with a 1 billion dollar price on his head.
It starts out silly, with two female insurance agents sent to find and convince Vash to stop destroying entire towns so that the insurance agency won't lose so much money from insuring towns. As those insurance agents discover, Vash is a complete goofball with a heart of gold.
As the unrelated stories unfold, the first few episodes introduce us to the characters and the desolated world that Vash and gang live in. As we move on, more of Vash's mysterious story is revealed and the story turns more and more serious.
The story owes alot to older silly/serious characters and anime series such as City Hunter. Overall the Trigun series is worth watching for its funny moments and action sequences. Athough its got an interesting story, the story gets too depressing and just drags on for too long at the end. The animation is also a mixed bag with some beautiful episodes and some which are just mediocre. Overall Id say give the series a shot and you'll come to love it.

Summary: so funny!
Review: If you heard of Trigun before, than you most likely heard it's funny. Well DUH! But you may not have heard that it's actualy very heartfelt and even downwright tear wrenching at times. With the mainstream anime that's out there today Trigun is a refreshing anime that is actualy ENJOYABLE. I mean some of the stuff out there is just ridiculouse, such as DBZ, YU GI OH!, POKEMON, and others along those lines.
Anyway, although it only ran one season, it really is hours and hours of entertainment. I've found myself watching the entire thing through at least 3 times now. Although the end did leave alot of unanswered questions. I just hope they make an anime for the new Trigun manga that's coming out in japan, or at least release the manga here! Anyway... if you like to laugh out loud at your tv for hours on end, then you must meet the humanoid typhoon, Vash the Stampede.

Summary: Cowboy beebob was MUCH better
Review: This anime was ok, but why the hell do they have the face thing where hes completly 2D (I mean i thing thats as bad as you can get for drawing). The storyline isn't all that great, though. I HAVEN'T bought the product, but i watch it on adultswim. Instead get cowboy bebop the perfect sessions or something like that

Summary: Decent story, but TOO LOUD
Review: I read all the reviews and was really looking forward to watching this. To be honest, I have not been able to tolerate more than one episode (barely made it through that) - the soundtrack is TOO LOUD. It may be tolerable to teen- and twenty-something males, but neither my husband nor I could stand the loud music, and we had trouble with the speech (fast, and mixed lower than the music). Animation is also wanting - simple crablike scuttling instead of walking...

Summary: You'll Laugh, Cry, and Slack-Jaw
Review: Purely awesome is all I can say about Trigun. Being new to the entire Adult Swim thing, I was kind of hesitant when I began watching it, but I saw all the episodes on its first run, and I was in no way disappointed. It's a series of ups and downs. There's comedy, tragedy, happiness, a tidbit of romance, and about anything else you can imagine. Vash The Stampede is apparently responsible for one of the largest disasters in history -- but he's a bumbling idiot! No way this man, this pathetic excuse for a criminal, could be the man they're hunting for...or so they think.

But, as you progress farther into the Trigun experience, paths interweave and lives cross as secrets and lies emerge, from a long-lost brother to a travelling priest with more up his sleeve than a cross and a bible.

Don't be put off by the first few episodes is what I'm getting at, because the series only gets better. This is very high on my list of favorite animés, and I've seen my fair share.

Just brilliant work.

Summary: Wuss the Stampede
Review: Anyone would just watch the first 2 episodes of this series and drop it. Cowboy Bebop fans should drop it in the first episode. I, being a true otaku-psycho, watched the entire series. I can't believe the number of people who correlate these two anime together. In my mind when I think of CB I think of insta-classics like Akira or Vampire Hunter D. When I think of Trigun I think it needs to be after Pokemon on the WB (and definately not adult enough to be part of adult swim). Seriously, this series is lame.

For starters, your HERO, the 60 Billion *Double Dollar* (*Stoopid Unrealistic Warning Phrase*) Man has mood swings from being a total goofball to the hero you expect (trust me, he's the goofball 85% of the time). His tormented past makes this character even more unbelieveable. The fact that he doesn't kill anyone is well past goofy-it's insane. Some have argued that "not killing people is a good message". Yes, it is, but it's not good entertainment. I expect my protagonist to kick ass, not run like a little girl.

Things don't get better for supporting cast, either. The two insurance agents that follow Vash are a typical anime-chick-doofus and the typical anime-chick-cold-fish. Each carries around 300 lbs of guns for no particular reason.

The comedy of the series isn't funny, the music isn't entertaining (and is usually reffered to as "too loud"), the backgrounds don't catch your eye (often in yellows), the premise of a "Warrior of Peace" is downright foolish, and the plot looks like the studio writers were 1000 chimpanzees with typewriters in a small dark room in Japan.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the reasoning behind an insurance company existing after the world ends is ludicrus. Just wanted to point that out to people who didn't spot it instantly.

This anime gets one star because the dubbing wasn't bad. It's too bad the rest of the series blew.

My final vote is to plead to you to just buy Cowboy Bebop Bundle and forget Trigun ever existed. Think about it, only like 2 people (out of 225) thought that series was bad on it's review boards (opposed to the 5 or so here with just 80 reviews), and they bought the wrong set (buy the 6 DVD set, not the 3 DVD import).

I wouldn't lie to you. This series is rubbish.

PS-One last thing, the end of the series is EXACTLY what you think it'll be after watching episode 6-7 (somewhere around there). It has no twists and no interesting changes, unlike Bebop. Just face it Triguners, Bebop was, is, and always will be better than this series. I wish I could put an HTML middle finger right *here*

Summary: So funny... but what's with the cat?
Review: From the moment you start watching the show to the very end, it's always funny! I'll never forget all those classic moments! Vash is a refreshing light hearted guy, who even though is a wanted criminal, has never killed anyone. In every episode, there's always someone after him, but he never looses control and kills them... well, once... but he HAD to!
The show is truly an enjoyable experience for people 13+. (and no, I'm not 12)
One thing I don't get tho is what exactly Vash and Knives are. I mean they're basicaly human but there not really human. This is just one of those things that are left out of the anime and you have to read the manga for I guess. I wonder when that comes out?
Anyway... seeing how I just rambled on a bit there. This is a great anime whith great charactors and a funny way to look at the life of a "notorious criminal".
