Summary: Spidey kicks ass, and turns ass down.
Review: Being a Spidey fan, I was a little nervous that this film wouldn't live up to the hype. Nothin' doin'!!!! This film was more than worth the ticket fee and is a sure-fire repeat of "amazing" proportions!!! The poses and battle moves spidey uses are right on, as well as his dialogue. Mary Jane Watson is hot as ever being played by Kirsten Dunst(Oh God!!!!) and livens things for Spidey in several rather nice ways!! I won't ruin it for people, but I tell you now the fight scenes and scenarios are [great]. The only thing that [upset] me royally was the ending with Mary Jane and Peter Parker! He has the oportunity to "capitalize" on his ultimate desire, but turns it down!!!! Dah! I know it's a movie, but [man]!! I don't want to wait for the [darn] sequal!!

Review: When I first saw the trailers, I was expecting a decent action movie but not much else. However, this movie surpassed my expectations on many levels. The effects were great, Danny Elfman's music was right on (as usual), and Tobey Maguire really captured the essence of Spider-Man in his performance. I hope the sequel is up to the same level as this picture.

Review: A Nerdy High-School Student named Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is always had a crush on his beautiful next door neighbour named Mary-Jane (Kristen Dunst), which Peter lives his Grand-Parents (Cliff Robertson & Rosemary Harris). Which he always want to say something to her, but always ended up, not saying nothing. One Day, He and the High-School students went to a field trip on the research on Spiders, which the Spiders are actually Radioactive. When Peter gets bitten by One of the Spiders and the next day, He changes differently, getting Perfect 20/20 Vision, His muscles are Strong and Everything atleration on his Body are more much Powerful and also having Spider-Sense into Him. When a billionaire business man scientist (Williem Dafoe) gets exposed himself after accidently to an Experimental Gas, developes into a Split-Personality and He becomes the Green Goblin. Peter is actually Best Friend to the Scientist Billionaire Son (James Franco). When one day, when Peter is experimenting on his New Gift, which is a Great Thing or a Curse-His grandfather is Murder by a Thug-then Peter uses his Power to become a Crime Fighter being called:Spider-Man. When Spider-Man sees for the First-Time, the Green Golbin. Since they have two very strong different Powers. Spider-Man is nearly becoming a Hero for the City of New York and the Green Golbin is the New Villian in Town, they fight, just until One of Them is Dead. But Peter/Spider-Man has to choose his Future, what he thinks is Right for Him. Since he always wanted to be with Mary-Jane but it's a challenge, he has to choose to make it Right to his Decision.Directed by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead Trilogy, Darkman, A Simple Plan) makes a strong entertaining Action-Adventure film, Based on a Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Based on Marvel Comics. Raimi does tribute to his Earlier Movie, including:Darkman, which his lastest movie does have some Familiarity with Darkman, which it was a Comic Book Style Flick before it becomes a Short-Lived Comic. This has a Smart Screenplay by David Koepp (Carlito's Way, Jurassic Park, the Panic Room), which is often Funny and at times-Campy (Although Screen-Writer Alvin Sargent & Scott Rosenberg did some Re-Writing for the Movie). Terrific Score by Danny Elfman and the Visual Effects supervised by Oscar-Winner:John Dykstra are One of the Few Highlighs of the Film. Tobey Maguire is just Perfect as the Lead in this Flick (Although James Franco did auditioned to Play-Peter Parker). Williem Dafoe is Fun as the Villian of the Movie. The Supporting Cast are Wonderful. (This film recieves Two Oscar Nominations for Best Sound & Best Visual Effects.) DVD has an terrific Pan & Scan (1.33:1) transfer and an sharp anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1) transfer and an excellent Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (On different Sets of DVD's). This DVD has plenty of Extras, including Commentary Tracks, Documentaires, Outtakes and More. This is all thanks to Sam Raimi, since he knew, the way-Spider Man should be done. It's Well Made and also Memorable Flick. Watch for Bruce Campbell, Randy (Macho Man) Savage, Bill Nunn, Ted Raimi, Lucy Lawless, Macy Gray, Stan Lee, Rance Howard and Scott Spiegel is Cameos. Summary: very well made...but however
Review: i have always been a Spider man fan ever since i was a kid. i used to be fascinated by his *great* moves and *funny* one-liners. Sam Raimi did a terrific+amazing+wonderful job at directing this film. The computer enhanced version of NY city was just out of this world.
the storyline is based on the comic, of course. Peter Parker, a science whiz and a {nerd}. one day, while visiting a university lab, he gets bitten by genetically enhanced super spider and gets 17 spiders assets.
and there's Mary Jane, the love of his life. and then there's Norman Osbourne aka Green Goblin...... no matter what, this movie is amazing, but i thought it was missing certain stuff and felt like it was not completed. lot of people thought that Tobey Mcguire was GOOD but not GREAT, some mentioned that he shouldve got bigger and buffer. i personally thought Kirsten Dunst was great. she is such a talented actress, who is very versatile. i believe she has a potential to beocme one of the greatest actress of all time.
Dafoe, is a very amazing actor as well, his facial expressions were simply out of this world, i thought he did not even have to speak his lines... once again, very well made, i suggest everyone go see it and rate it for themselves.

Review: An unwilling young boy gets bitten my a mutated spider and becomes the super hero: Spiderman!!! Tobey Macguire stars as your freindly neighborhood Spiderman in this fast paced spazmatic action movie. Kirsten Dunst stars as the beatiful love intrest of Peter Parker, the red haired Mary Jane Watson. Watching Spiderman was very entertaining eventhough I knew what the story was. Watching it was like watching a tennis match, moving your eyes back and forth, back and forth. As far is I can see, Willem Dafoe played the Green Goblin almost flawlessly. Because of a science experiment gone wrong, the mild manered scientist Norman Osborne gets metamorphisised into the supervillian Green Goblin. James Franco plays the cast aside son of Norman Osborne, Harry Osborne. Although he doesn't have a big roll in the movie, you will see him in the other movies. The movie has an unpretentous B-movie quality that made it irresistable to any movie goer. Unlike the other comic book to movie ventures, Spiderman stayed very very very true to the comic series. The webslinging scenes and the fight scenes truly made the movie come to life.

Review: I just saw it today! It was incredible. The special effects where of the highest callibar I've ever seen. The only thing that might rival it's CGI are that of "The Matrix" but that's it. I'm 14 years old and I've been a long time fan of Spider-Man so as you can imajine I was extremely pickey. But I found absolutely nothing to pick at. It was perfect. I particularly enjoyed the little things like the costume and the music. Spider-Man apeals to kids and adults alike because he's just an average kid who's sent into extraordinary circumstances. He's not an alien or someone popular and rich. He's a real guy with real problems. I recomend this film to everyone who likes spider-man. I recomend it to every one who doesn't know what a Spider-Man is. I evan recomend it to those of you who hate Spider-Man becaue if you still do after seeing this movie than your just not right in the head.

Summary: Exhilarating in every sense of the word
Review: Very rarely has a movie given me such a feeling of anticipation as Spider-Man, and I don't even read the comics. This said, it follows that this review should be fairly unbiased and good for the majority of people who don't spend days studying the brightly colored panels and speech balloons. (No offense to one of my good friends who does, or anyone else of that nature.) And that said, this follows: the movie was most thoroughly excellent. That's all there is. I'm not going to run down the plot; by now, you should know it, and if you don't, go see it and find out. Acting? Good. Quite good. Toby Maguire, except for a couple bad lines, falls into the character perfectly, and all the other actors hold up well. The exception is Willem Dafoe, who goes above and beyond the rest. He gets the play the insane bad guy, the Green Goblin, and he does the role with flamboyance, humor, and a perfect touch of drama. Storyline? Excellent. As said, I don't read the comics, so I can't make a comparison. What I can say is Spider-Man's story is focused totally on the characters rather then a wild destroy-the-world plot, and it makes for a much stronger movie. The greatest asset is the interplay between them: Peter Parker and his best friend are in love with the same girl, the best friend's father sees Peter as more of a son then his own son, Peter and the father are friends on the surface and their alter-egos are enemies; it's intricate but stops at the perfect point before "bad soap opera". More so, the ending was very strong; it's not quite what you expect, and it manages to add both a good sense of closure and an opening for a sequel. The action? Ignore that elitist fool Ebert's review. He complains the action scenes lack presence and look fake. I reply they are frequent, fast-paced, exciting, and absolutely perfect for a movie like this. Few things beat webslinging around the streets of NY for coolness. It is here, however, that my one tiny complaint arises. In the moments where Spider-Man goes mano a mano with Green Goblin, there is only one time when the blows are going back and forth; the rest is of one beating the other up. Now this still looks very cool, but the fighting between them could have been done a little better. The action scenes also feel a little short. Fortunately this is made up by them being fairly frequent and looking incredibly cool. The camera work is used to maximum effectiveness, racing after the masked man has he zips around the streets, slowing down during explosions, and generally adding to the limitless energy contained in the movie. Special effects look just right. Spider-Man is great beating up four bad guys at once; he can jump and flip circles around them, and unlike say, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (I would love for Ebert to read this) it look real, as though he is strong enough to leap that high, and it does not look like he has two or three wires linked to a hidden belt. Watching him swing through the streets takes the feeling "How cool would that be" to new levels. The movie also adds a touch of humor at just the right points, and a touch of drama at just the right others. And watching Peter evolve from a social outcast to a kid with a new toy to a new type of social outcast, one with responsibilities he cannot share, adds a very human depth to the film. Spider-Man is a great movie, mixing action and drama in just the right levels. Now if they can just do a sequel, and soon.

Review: The movie was really good! The special effects were a mix between "Charlie's Angels" and "The Matrix". The storyline was really good. The romance part of the story was a little weak but oh well. You can definetly sense a sequel (although I already knew there was one coming).

Review: I, like probably a lot of people, went into this wondering if this movie truly would live up to it's hype. I was hoping it would, but wasn't sure. Then it didn't. It went way beyond the hype it was given. While I liked the special effects and action, what really captivated me was the story and the performance by Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker rather than as Spider-Man. As Spider-Man, he was definitley good, but as Parker he had a wider range of emotions to work with, and he had definite chemistry with Kirsten Dunst who plays Mary Jane Watson. Her performance was excellent as well. In fact, everyone's performance was either good or perfect. Good see right away, you will not regret it.

Summary: One Wild Ride
Review: Not recommending this movie just because you don't like the way Spiderman looks while swinging with his webs is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. If you read Ebert's review or saw his show recently then you know what I'm talking about. For one thing I think those scenes with him web slinging look flawless. Even if it looked totally [bad] I still wouldn't give the film a bad review because of it. Sam Raimi (Darkman, Army of Darkness) does a fantastic job of bringing Spiderman to life on the big screen. Raimi who is a big fan of Spiderman himself was perfect to direct this movie and I hope he directs each and every sequel because no one is better for the job. I was a big fan of the Cartoon show in the 90's and everything I loved about is here. I was a little surprised that Newsday which is usually picky and loves giving low ratings actually gave it ****, I didn't expect such a high rating at all. After seeing the movie I understand why though. It has everything, action, romance comedy and drama. It's the perfect date movie too I must add. The action scenes are incredible for one thing, the movement's quick and if you blink you might miss something but to me that's what made it fun. Tobey Maguire and Kirstin Dunst are just adorable together, they share a lot of cute and heart warming scenes. Tobey's perfect in this movie, enjoyed his performance so much that I wouldn't mind seeing him get an oscar nomination. He has so much to overcome in this movie and each and every feeling he shows...you believe. That's how good he is. William Dafoe is also very good as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin. An experiment gone wrong creates this split personality for him which drives him completely insane. Although he wears this Green Goblin costume and raises hell with glider inside he's still a decent man that has a love for his son who he has been too busy for a lot of the time. It puzzles me how Raimi manages to throw all these things together so nicely in just a 2 hour movie. What are you waiting for check out this movie, trust me it's probably the best comic book movie ever made "yes even better than Superman and X-Men".
