Summary: It is funny to read reviews and see who doesn't "get it"
Review: I can't believe the reviews I read of this movie here at amazon. Everyone seems to either give it 5 stars, or else 1 star, depending on whether they "get it" I guess just as with a good joke, either you "get it" and it is funny, or else it goes over you head and therefore seems stupid, because you just didn't "get it"! This is a GREAT movie, by the way, one of the best. Ignore what the un-enlightened say.

Summary: Boring!
Review: I hate it, bad acting, bad script, bad director. I really hate the hyperviolence of Quetin Tarantino.

Summary: You either love it or hate it--and I love it!
Review: The value of "Pulp Fiction" is partly reflected in the extreme range of its "man on the street" reviews. It's either the very worst or the very best, with no "ho-hums" in between.

I saw "True Romance" first (with no particular fore-knowledge of Quentin Tanantino) and hated it--thought it was one of the most pointless, over-acted, cloying, contrived, senselessly sensationalistic films I'd seen in a long time (Christopher Walken's cameo excepted). Needless to say, I was NOT particularly disposed to Tarantino after that experience. But then a close friend featured Pulp Fiction at the annual "Football, Flank Steak, and Film Fest Extravaganza" he hosts every year on Super Bowl Sunday--and voilá!

In looking back at "Pulp Fiction," I see, at the bottom line, a bunch of low-lifes, criminals, cheats, and dumb-asses. Quite frankly, I don't like the idea that this movie might serve to glorify or elevate these kinds of people. But the unaffected earnestness, quirky relationships, blue-collar grit, humorous self-importance, down-to-earth dialogue, heart-stopping vignettes, delightful incongruities, and unconventional sense of honor and justice of "Pulp Fiction" easily overrode my objections.

It's pontless to over-analyze this movie, just as it's futile to try to give concrete reasons for the beauty or appeal of anything unconventional. I want to be contacted emotionally, somehow--and with me, "Pulp Fiction" simply clicked.

I became such a convert that, the day after seeing the movie, I ordered UCSC Fighting Banana Slugs t-shirts for my friend and myself. I wear mine with pride, relishing the occasional "Are you from Santa Cruz or did you love 'Pulp Fiction'?" reaction I get on the street.

Yes, it's one of those movies that you love or you hate. So count me in with those who genuinely and unabashedly love this film.

Summary: one of the greatest american movie of all times
Review: you either love it or despise it. those who love it, know movies. those who don't...well what floats their boats. This film has taken aspects of many genres and twisted them around so...that it has birth a whole new form of filmmaking of its own. It's the Independent New Wave of film.

Summary: great movie bar-none
Review: This film is great because up to then some film studios seemed to be making films based on the same formula. The fact that so many other films have obviously ripped off many ideas from this film speaks volumes about how great it is.

Summary: What's the point?
Review: I know there are a lot of technical terms associated with a movie production like screenplay, direction, plot, acting, etc. Unfortunately I don't know the definitions of most of them. One thing that is pretty basic to me, though, is a "point". Usually there is some kind of point to a movie, good guy verses bad guy, she loves him, he loves her, may the force be with you, etc., but the point of this movie totally escapes me. It's THE most pointless movie I have ever seen. When it was done I felt like the trapeze artist who swung out to meet the person on the other trapeze and he wasn't there. I was also amazed that someone could make a movie where 90% of the dialogue consists of 4-letter words, the same 4-letter words. I know this movie has a following, but I'm not one of the followers.

Summary: pathetic
Review: they just don't get any worse than this awful excuse for a movie. if you wanna see something good that's in any way related to Quentin, then see "From Dusk Til Dawn". it's a shame that a great actor like Samuel L. Jackson appeared in such a lousy movie.

Summary: WEIRD, SURPRISING AND VERY CRAZY !!!
Review: not much to say...it's a great tarantino movie with an abnormal but great atmosphere... i especially like that scene with Bruce Willis searching a weapon and finding this very big shanghai sword...just cool...

Summary: Worst movie
Review: When everyone talked about this movie, I had to go see it, and boy was I sorry! It was the worst, there was nothing entertaining about drugs, profanity, violence, murder. What a waste! Not my type at all, and... I am NOT that OLD!!!

Summary: Clever, Funny, Intelligent, Unpredictable Classic
Review: Pulp Fiction is one of the best-crafted movies in the history. There are multiple plots going on and you don't know where they are going, but they all tie in beautifully at the end. The actors are absolutely awesome. This movie truly set a new standard for others to learn from. This highly intelligent movie is not for those who like predictable and safe movies.
