Summary: Bond is good, but product is misrepresented.
Review: Many other reviewers have commented that Goldfinger and Live and Let Die are MONO instead of 5.1. However, the other sad tale about Goldfinger and Live and Let Die is that they are NOT Widescreen format! MGM labeled them as Widescreen but it is not true. At least they were honest about labeling them as MONO. Too bad you don't know they aren't Widescreen until you buy them.

Also, someone at MGM put the photo of the submarine/Lotus car from The Spy Who Loved Me on the back of the For Your Eyes Only DVD case. Oops. They should know which promo photos go with the right movie.

Oh well, the extras make up for the mistakes. I am disappointed in the Widescreen and Mono thing. Hopefully, the technical details for the next set will get the attention they deserve.

Summary: James da Bomb
Review: I am a great fan of the james bond movies. The Sean conway ones are my favorite. I can never seem to put them down. I have the bond collection on video and dvd. Yesterday I threw away the videos. The DVD's are so much better. They are enhanced. The visual effects are so totally cool. Add that to some of the best movies of all time(the james bond movies) and you get this bundle of movies.

Summary: Very good set -- despite some flaws
Review: About half of the reviews I've read here at amazon.com have complained that MGM seems to have selected the movies for this set at random. I must disagree with this. They obviously wanted a variety of films, so they chose from across the board. They went with two of the most popular Sean Connery vehicles ("Goldfinger" and "Thunderball"), Roger Moore's first ("Live and Let Die") and his most widely acclaimed ("For Your Eyes Only"), Timothy Dalton's better outing ("License to Kill") and Pierce Brosnan's two films: "Goldneye" and "Tomorrow Never Dies." (They excluded the recently released "The World Is Not Enough" for obvious reasons.) Although I must admit that I would rather own a set that had gone in chronological order and contained all 6 Connery outings and George Lazenby's very good (though underrated) "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," I am very happy with the set that MGM did come up with. "Goldfinger" is the best of the Bond flicks, and I truly enjoy "Thunderball," "For Your Eyes Only," and "Goldeneye." (I haven't yet seen "Live and Let Die.") I can't figure out why "Goldeneye" has received so much criticism while it's greatly inferior, semi-plotless predecessor ("Tomorrow Never Dies") is hailed as the best Brosnan film. In any case, other than "TND," this is a great set. Buy it and get the others that follow. Sean Connery enthusiasts should be pleased to learn that the final set contains three of his films, including "From Russia with Love." Enjoy this set, and many thanks to MGM for putting it out there for us.

Summary: The James Bond Gift Set
Review: Bond is great on any format, yet DVD truly enhances the Bond experience. The picture is magnificent, and all but two of the DVD'S are remastered in 5.1 surround sound. On every movie there are a number of special features. These range from audio commentary, theatrical trailers, documentarys, music videos, and commercials. This collection set really is a great purchase, so save your pennies and buy Bond.

Summary: Great Movies!
Review: "The James Bond Gift Set" is a wonderful combination of Bond movies. The set contains "Goldfinger," "Thunderball," "Live and Let Die," "For Your Eyes Only," "Licence To Kill," "Goldeneye," and "Tommorrow Never Dies." The rest of the Bond movies will be in two different sets, the first is coming out in May 2000, the second sometime in fall 2000. For those wondering like myself before I got it there is no special intro before the movies as in for example The Star Wars Special Edition Set, but you still get exciting 007 entertainment while watching these 7 classic Bond films.

Summary: Bond is back!
Review: In coinciding with James Bond's new movie, this release is complete with 7 of the Bond films (with 2 of the Brosnan's era and 5 of the older Bonds). Each film is complete with tons of extras, such as music video, behind the scenes, and interviews. the clarity of the screen and sounds are stunning. It is beautiful, and such (like a Bond nut like me) is heaven. You get 7 movies with tons of extras, and 4 different Bonds, you see how the films have evolved. I cannot wait for teh next sets.

Summary: These are the coolest movies I have seen
Review: In this 7 movie collection you will be amazed and thrilled on how neat these movies are. I am a huge fan for James Bond and unlike the new stupid movies (the world is nor enough, tomarow never dies) it shows the old one with Sean Conery, Roger Moore, and Timithy dalton I thought that this was great.
