Rating: Summary: NOVEMBER CAN'T COME SOON ENOUGH !!! Review: There is simply no DVD release I've look forward for, as much as this one. Everybody has their own opinion but for me all three of them are a blast just the same. I can't recall having such a good time at the movies since watching TEMPLE OF DOOM. CRUSADE is a little weaker than the other two but a lot of fun nonetheless, and what can you say about RAIDERS ?, one of my five all time favorite movies and a truly perfect action film. November can't come soon enough for sure !
Rating: Summary: A Perfect TRILOGY Review: Though few true trilogy's exist, Indiana Jones is definitely one of them. Though a fourth is being developed, one doubts that another sequel could do justice to the series, as well as raising the question why go beyond The Last Crusade? But enough of that, about the trilogy. As aforementioned, though many trilogies may exist, few have the true needs to fall into the trilogy category. I.E. similar plots, constant relations between films, and emotional and/or physical growth self-contained to the three. Such trilogies that meet the above criteria would be the Star Wars films, the Scream Trilogy, Lord of The Rings, and despite the existence of more than three films, the Nightmare on Elm Steet original three. Indiana Jones falls into these. Even though many will agree that the second lost much of the nostalgic atmosphere of the first, its existence was still critical and interdependent to the other two. One and three, both hovered around artifacts of great power, and both related to the Christian religion. Both films involved a race to beat the Natzis (If in Doubt, Use Natzis). But Film Number Two was just as good overall, even htough the seemingly lack of elaboration of why we want those weird looking stones. All in all, the entire trilogy is excellent. Self-Contained and needless of a fourth, the Trilogy is a stand out film from cinematic history. Definitely worth the cash expendature.
Rating: Summary: Finally! Review: Why did it take half a decade for these movies to go on DVD? Oh well. As long as "Porky's Trilogy" wasn't released instead. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is an adventurous archaeologist who doesn't take garbage from anyone, except for snakes. Ghoulish meltdowns happen in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and stops a fight from happening with his gun. Pow, be gone fool! Smelly droppings are consumed in "The Temple of Doom." Barferia. Then he gets lectured by his pop (Sean Connery) in "The Last Crusade." They're all action-packed movies with good humor and a famous whip. This is one of the best trilogies ever!
Rating: Summary: Boxed Set Vs. Individual Release Review: I was an extra in Last Crusade and have been waiting for 5 years for it (and Raiders) to be released on DVD. I am somewhat disheartened to see that while I can finally purchase them on DVD, I must also pay for Temple of Doom. (July 2003 notice of November 2003 boxed set release.) It has taken so long to see them arrive on the small disc that I have almost lost interest. Guess I will pass this boxed set up and wait to see if I can buy Last Crusade and Raiders by themselves in another 5 years. I can't see paying the extra price for an included third movie that I would just throw in the trash unopened.
Rating: Summary: Indiana Jones has finally come to DVD! Review: That's right Indy fans! Indiana Jones is set to crack that whip, outrun large boulders, and do everything in his power to avoid........snakes! All three of the classic Indiana Jones films are coming to DVD in a very special boxed set. Included is....... "Raiders of the lost ark", "The temple of Doom" and "The last Crusade". Audiences everywhere laughed, cheered, and were thrilled to the edge of their seats when the Indy movies came out. Now, you and your family and friends can do the same from the comfort of your own home! Harrison Ford is spectacular as Indiana Jones, and Sean Connery, Kate Capshaw, etc all provide wonderful supporting roles in the movies. So put on that Brown Fedora and strap yourselves in! "Indiana Jones" on DVD will be a viewing experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: It's about time!!!!! Review: Ever since I was about 9 I loved watching the Indiana Jones movies. They are very exciting and enjoyable. I've had the videos since they first came out, and since DVD's were created I've been searching for them. Now they are finally coming out on DVD and I can't wait. I recommend this to anyone who loves action movies.
Rating: Summary: i love harrison ford! Review: I started watching Indiana Jones when I was 8 and I have watched them about 200 times since then. Here are my opinions of each movie.Raiders of the Lost Ark : This one is quite possibly my favorite. It has wonderful action scenes all through it. It also has fun with Indiana Jones' fear of snakes. The basic storyline is that the Nazi party is after the Ark of the Covenant as it is said to make whatever army that carries the Ark before it into war invincible. Indie has to find the Ark before they do. The Temple of Doom: This one is very interesting. It is pretty gross, though. Some of the storyline is a little disturbing. Like the villains enslaving children and working them to death or the evil priest pulling hearts out of living human sacrifices. Still, it's a pretty good movie. The Last Crusade: Okay, I beter hurry up now. This one is about the Holy Grail. It is said that whoever drinks from the Grail will live forever. Naturally, the Nazi party wants this too. Once more, Indiana has to find it first. It has been made a little more complicated by the fact that the Nazis have Indie's dad(played by Sean Connery) and aren't giving him up. You also find out how Indie gets his hat, scar, and fear of snakes. This is a great collection and I would recommend it to anyone who likes action adventure.
Rating: Summary: Finally. Review: Of all the movies from the last two decades, Raiders of the Lost Ark may have been one of the most enjoyable and influential adventure films of it's time. Now that Mr. Lucas has decided to release the DVD collection, this viewer finds himself anxiously awaiting their release. Of the three films, Raiders stands out as the best, with The Last Crusade following closely behind. Not to say that Temple was not a good movie, but it lacked the blustery charm of Raiders, and the emotional scripting of the Father/Son relationship of Crusade. Let us hope that these DVD's get the same expert mastering that the Star Wars disks received. Highly recommended for fans of adventure films.
Rating: Summary: Five Stars for Raiders Review: Raiders of the Lost Ark is in my top five favorite movies. It is a throwback to the old serial cliffhanger movies that I am not even old enough to remember. There is no way to really describe it, but suffice to say it is exciting, adventurous, spooky, scary and mystical all at the same time. Combining action, romance and edge of your seat suspense as well as humor, all in just the right places. The movie centers on Harrison Ford playing Indiana Jones, a tough, smart and risk taking archeologist who is searching for the ancient Ark of the covenant that held the Ten Commandments. The search for neseccary artifacts and people who can make sense of them takes him to exotic locations and into a Nazi artifact dig where they are looking for the Ark as well. The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade are not quite as good. Doom is supposed to be a prequel to Ark, even though it was released after it. The intention was never to make a continuation, but to make episodes. Temple's dark and cult driven plot is too eerie and too spooky to be as enjoyable. Indiana finds himself in India helping a remote village recover the Sankara Stones and recovering the people's stolen children. It stands as a good piece of work in Speilbergs collection though. Crusade was meant to be an apology for Temple of Doom. It's lighter, funnier, more family friendly. It also has the same basic plot and structure as Raiders. Here Indiana is trying to rescue his father after disappearing during his search for the Holy Grail. There are some good moments where we learn about Indy's childhood and his relationship with his father but it feels a little forced and there are a few silly moments contrived just for humor. Nevertheless, it is a good solid adventure. I look forward greatly to this set being released if just for Raiders alone. I've been waiting for it for quite a while, and I know there are many that agree with me.
