Summary: Back To The Creek...
Review: Too bad...I had really thought this would have been a good movie. Don't get me wrong- the special effects were great, but that was the only focus. This film lacked originality! I must admit that I bawled during Titanic because of all the agony and fear the passengers had. Unfortunately, Pearl Harbor could not hold that much. It was a weak ripoff of Titanic... with a love triangle that *ironically* is exact to that of Dawson's Creek....
a quiet, downer brunette brod is in love with the sweet, quiet man of her dreams....and then sleeps with his best friend (the rebel with a cause). So, while the film unfolds scenes stolen from James Cameron's "ship of dreams", the two best friends are fighting over a girl who just isn't worth it. Basically, this movie is filled with planes and gray skies (rather than a sinking ship and fireworks) as adult versions
of "Dawson", "Joey", and "Pacey" run amock. And for crying out loud, if you're gonna copy a storyline, do it all the way. Where is "Jen Lindley", anyway?

Summary: Utter Torture
Review: My, work (the Navy) paid for a group of us to go see this movie, and I still wanted my money and three hours of my life back. If you are looking for a accurate depiction of the accounts of and after Pearl Harbor search elsewhere, in movies like Tora! Tora! Tora! and Midway. The only way to make this movie better and perhaps go by a lot faster would to cut out all the lame romance in it. This is not Titanic for Michael Bay, this is Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (appologies to those fans of the afore mentioned movie) Cut the romance, which would bring the movie to not only a watchable 2 hour length, but also a much more accurate and fast paced movie, and if you are going to introduce so many characters to us in a movie, at least take longer than five seconds to do so. If Mr. Bay had used that hour that he trashed for romance and put it into character development, this movie would have been much better, it's a history, not a comic book, treat it with a bit more respect, real history doesn't need to have sub-plot after sub-plot. The turth is always more interesting than fiction. For the effects, that's about all that saved this movie from beeing a total downside movie. The attack on Pearl Harbor was depicted very well, and very accurate. Other than the last 45 min of the movie, just speed through it.

Summary: Titanic meet Hawaii!
Review: This is the worst movie of the decade, a big commercial piece for the U.S. and the acting and directing is also bad. But the special effects must be the worst I've ever seen! Do they mean to have a "Toy Story-sky" and plastic bombs??

Summary: The best way to veiw Pearl Harbor.
Review: Michel Bay's huge leviathan war epic Pearl Harbor came out the same year as another attack September 11th is still so young
and deep in all of our minds it's only hard to realize that 60yrs
ago that this film potrays the world was at a crossroads of war and many lives fell victim to an attack harldy anyone understood
or could fathom , just the same with Semtember 11, 2001 attack.
What this film shows is that many of the soilders would pay the
ultimate sacrifice that was asked of them most gave there lives
to defend what was then threatning american freedom. Most of the
veterans would tell you that the ones left behind are the true
hero's just as many would say about september 11th , this film
surronding a love triangle between 3 people (Josh Harnett,Kate
Bekingsale,Ben Affleck)the men piolets the woman a nurse she ,
seemingly falls in love with both men even when they are in the
midst of dangerious missions. The Japanese start to plan there ,
infamous attack on Pearl Harbor they pinpoint every weakness on
the navy base until December 7th arrives marvel in the film as
the Japenese warbirds fly over the islands of the pacific and
nearly 40 minute war scene of the actual attack that is nothing
short of amazing.Jhon Voight's potrayal of Rosevelt is patriotic
as he gives the day of infamy speech. But the Pearl Harbor attack
steals the show but you'll have to wait 90 minutes in this 185
minute film but it's worth the wait. And the U.S. counterattack
on Japan is even in here too. This by far is the best version
you can buy it has documentaries and clips from the attack from
many points of veiw and much much more if your looking for a
patriotic movie then pick this film up it's a worthy addition
to your DVD colletion.

Summary: A Bit Long
Review: Honestly, one of the only reasons I saw this film was to see Ben Affleck. Like Titanic, this film is predictable in that you know the ending before the movie begins. Aside from the fact that my movie going experience was ruined by a man whose cell phone rang continually throughout the entire movie, I thought it was "okay." The thing that bothered me about this movie was that it "Armageddon"-ized an event that shaped America's history for the past 60 years. The attack scenes were wonderful, but the plot and love scenes were predictable and unimaginative. If only for the special effects, I give this film a three out of five stars. "Tora Tora Tora" was definitely a more accurate portrayal of this event, and left a bigger mark in my mind

Summary: Incredible Depiction of Real Life History
Review: I must begin by commenting on the stupidity that the majority of you have displayed in your writing and grammar skills. I would be ashamed to post a review filled with repetitive "likes", misspelled words, and fragment-laden paragraphs. I've begun to question whether or not any of you have taken English classes.
Now about Pearl Harbor...a lot of people have bashed the movie because of the supposed love triangle. First of all, to be realistic, in times during war, situations like the one between Rafe, Evelynn, and Danny are very likely to happen. Recently, sales in wedding dresses and rings have sky-rocketed. Why? Because soldiers feel the need to have someone waiting for them when they come back from fighting. Women want to wait for them. More and more people have realized that life is short, and they want to live it to the fullest. I'm sure that among the veterans of Pearl Harbor there are stories that are even more dramatic than the one depicted in the movie Pearl Harbor. Second, I think that the love story was very well placed in the movie, because it helps you to identify with the characters, and enables you to bond with them which makes the war scenes more heart-wrenching and more passionate for the viewer.
The war scenes are very well filmed, and the special effects are amazing. Ben Affleck is a talented actor and is incredibly supported by Beckinsale and Hartnett. I appreciated the fact that even though Affleck is the biggest name among the three, Beckinsale and Hartnett get the same amount of screen time.
To compare Pearl Harbor to Titanic is one of the most idiotic comments I have ever heard in my entire life. I see nothing but contrast in the two stories. The Japanese were a much more formidable opponent than an iceberg. I don't remember seeing the iceberg rise out of the water and ram itself into the ship. The Titanic ran into it. The Japanese intentionally attacked Pearl Harbor.
There was virtually no love triangle in Titanic, Jack had no competition. The directors of Pearl Harbor chose not to have an hour long sex scene, and another hour long scene with a girl naked, and I respect that. I'm sorry, but Titanic does not even hold a candle to Pearl Harbor. I see no resemblance between the two films other than the length and the historical backround. So where was the comparison?? Please elaborate, I would really like to know. (I find myself capable of using the word "like" correctly.)
All in all, I consider Pearl Harbor one of the best movies ever made, and I think all Americans should see it. I saw it three times and it greatly influenced me each time. For those of you who haven't seen the movie and love history, and decent romance, this is the movie for you.

Summary: Mixed Emotions
Review: Okay, there were good things and bad things. Bad things first, about the first half-hour. This was the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life, I mena come on. Okay, we're here to see a movie about the attack on Pearl Harbour, at least that's what I got from the title, but aparently I was wrong, because for about 45 minutes, all they were doing was making stupid love references, I'll go to a chick flick for that, I want to see action, call me shallow but it's the way I am. I was sitting in my movie seat thinking to myself, "Okay, good scene change maybe they'll start to....no wait, more idle chat" Another bad thing was FDR, they could have found a more convincing actor to portry him. There were great things too, such as them not portraying the Japenese as total evil slimeballs, because the average soldier person was merely brainwashed by the militant government and thought they were doing a good thing. They were only trying to protect their families, granted it was a bad thing, but we could have, and probably did, do the same thing. I also enjoyed the special effects and all of Cuba Gooding, Jr.'s part, he was great. Any way, go see the movie and decide for yourself.

Summary: A movie isn't just action scenes
Review: The Pearl Harbor attack is indeed spectacular (although a bit long) : good special effects, dynamic...
But except for this 15-20 min scene, the movie is quite boring. The love story is just dumb and so predictable : young cute pilots, beautifull nurse, you add a 20 years friendship and a war, and you have the picture. After 5 min. you know how it is going to end (and I'm not talking about the attack)
It is just another so-called "entertaining" movie (and it's not a compliment) except this one is lame. Famous actors and special effects don't make a movie even if it is supposed to be a patriotic one; you need a story, and this one is ridiculous.
