Summary: A Major Achievement In Filmmaking
Review: 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' is a wonderful movie for five reasons.

1. Incredible special effects
2. A spectacular music (score)
3. Outstanding acting
4. 'The Two Towers' is a very exciteing movie because of the great action, adventure, and suspense it has to offer.
5. And it is a great adaptation of the author J.R.R. Tolkiens 'Lord of the Rings' book trilogy because it goes by it very well.

Those are five good reasons as to why 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' is a wonderful movie. I can't wait to own it for DVD! Sequel to the spectacular 'Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring' 'The Two Towers' is not a movie to miss by anyone.

Summary: Best Movie Adaptation to Date
Review: Disclaimer: I haven't seen the extended version yet, but the theatrical movie is the best adaptation of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings to date. I'm looking forward to the extended scenes to fill out the story; the extra scenes did a phenomonal job of improving The Fellowship of the Ring.

I have read this series and Tolkien's Silmarillion numerous times (actually I listen to the series recorded on CD; note that the Silmarillion is a lot eaiser to get through this way) and I was disappointed with only two things: 1) The extreme departure of Faramir's character in the movie vs. the book (in the book, he resisted the Ring's lure in the cave of Henneth Annun, where they first brought the hobbits, and sent Frodo, Sam, and Gollum on their way with extra supplies. The fact that he could resist the Ring's influence from the start proved his worthiness as a leader of Men.) 2) The decision of Peter Jackson to end the movie where it did (I would have ended it on the stairs before Cirith Ungol, after the hobbits saw the Morgul-King's army march out towards Minas Tirith...give the audience another suspenseful set-up for Return of the King). Other than that, I can accept and enjoy all the other changes that Jackson made. Kudos to everyone involved. Great movie!

Summary: So It Doesn't Go By The Book Trilogy That Well. SO WHAT!!!
Review: It is nearly impossible for a movie to go by a HUGE book very well. "The Lord of the Rings" book trilogy is a really BIG book with many pages and chapters in it. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" was a great adaptation of the book trilogy it is based on and so is "The Two Towers" its sequel. "Fellowship of the Ring" and "Two Towers" are both wonderful Oscar-winning movies! I can't wait to own "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" for DVD! It has great acting, an incredible musical (score), and superb award-winning special effects! Director Peter Jackson deserves an Oscar for all the hard work he has done directing the phenomenal "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy.

Summary: Does the book justice---and then some!
Review: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers goes far beyond most box office hits. Although, as other reviewers have noted, some people might be dismayed with the "important details" that they feel were left out, or simply because they feel it could have been a smoother book-to-movie adaptation. I've read the books, and I have to say that I've never seen a finer adaption---or a better movie. This is the most incredible movie I have ever seen. Sure, it's very complex, but I feel that is what adds the intrigue---you constantly want to learn more, to be sucked into Tolkien's glorious world more. I won't waste time explaining the plot of the movie, as I don't want to ruin of it, and anyways Amazon already gives a comprehensive enough one in their editor's review of the movie!

The battles in the movie are breathtakingly well done, if perhaps fast-paced, but you don't get lost in it as compared to other films (like you do in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). And even though a majority of the 3+ hours of this movie is taken up with battle scenes, you won't become jaded of them. Many have commented on the violence of this movie---of which there is a lot, so parents probably should not let someone under 12-13 see it. I was impressed with how they included the romantic intrigue in this movie, because they do so with stressing honor and the direness of all the many events, without the need for explicit romantic content (need I say further). So all in all, this is a must-see movie for all, except for the most sqeamish (as there is a lot of violence, although little blood is shown, if at all), or people who REALLY hate the Lord of the Rings.

I myself will wait to buy the Special Extended Edition four-disc set, but for those who aren't die-hard fans, the normal edition will be just fine. If you haven't seen this movie, rent it when it comes out, and if you have, ORDER IT!

Summary: Best movie of the year
Review: The Tower Towers was the best movie of 2002. Alone, I'm not sure it was better than Fellowship of the Ring, and this year's The Return of the King will be the best of the three.

I would wait to buy the Exented Edition of the Two Towers, released in November. If the EE of Fellowship is any sign, the EE of Two Towers will add so much to the story. I cannot now imagine watching the theater version of Fellowship, the EE is such a superior presentation. Besides, Fellowship's EE came with a free ticket to the Two Towers! Given the price of the movies these days, a free ticket to Return of the King is a great incentive to wait for the EE of Two Towers!

Summary: Incredible, almost easy to overlook the changes
Review: I see a lot of people have touched on the changes that were made in the movie so I will manage to make this review fairly short. I loved the books, they were quite possibly some of the most interesting and incredible books I've read to date, and so far I think Peter Jackson has done a wonderful job with them. When reading the books i knew Two Towers would be the hardest to create on film. Some of the Ent stuff was a bit iffy, but I was able deal with that. My biggest two complaints were those of Arwen and Faramir. They spent altogether probably 45 minutes on the two, and let me say it completely changes some of the images that I think Tolkien wanted set. The Arwen stuff was[bad]. Yes, I understand Liv Tyler is beautiful, trust me. Yes I understand they want to build a love story, but please dont waste so much time on it. Faramir was supposed to be the opposite of Boromir. He was supposed to be a hero and lived on his principles and very forgiving. The whole thing about going wherever they went was another huge waste of time. With that time they definitely could have given the Ents a much bigger part, or perhaps stayed to the story line with Frodo and his crew.

But, now that i have complained, I am just going to say that the movie as a whole is absolutely awesome. I think the elves coming to help was sweet (but could have been sweeter in the next movie) and Helm's Deep was awesome. Great movie.

Summary: one of the best movies i've ever seen
Review: The Two Towers is quite simply astonishing and is definitely worth getting on dvd. I think that Peter Jackson worked extremely hard to make this film possible and the film shows it. I loved the way they showed Gandalf falling down with the Balrog and fighting him. The battle for Helms Deep is amazing and Aragorn showed his emotions in that battle. I really enjoyed the Ents, Merry and Pippin as they completly destroyed Isengard. But for me Gollum steals the show and Andy Serkis played the part well. The film is much better than the book as I have read it myself. The Two Towers is absolutely brilliant and I cant wait til it comes out over here in England on dvd. But you couldnt see the film and understand it without watching the Fellowship first. I cant wait til I see the Return Of the King. You have to get the Two Towers its awesome!!!
