Summary: BEST OF 2002! READ THIS AND DECIDE YOUR SCORING!
Review: This movie was a fantastic piece of work! Peter Jackson can fluently describe this story so that everyone understands it. I know he didn't get all of the book into the movie, but if you are criticizing him for doing that, think of two things1. How much MONEY it would cost to go page-by-page filming these movies 2. Try and think of a BETTER DIRECTOR to do the job (look at his past work and see if it would stand up to PJ's work) This movie has spectacular fight/war scenes. The one with the Wolves of Isengard was extremely cool, especially when Legolas does that "jumping on the horse" thingy. The fight at Helm's Deep was 30 minutes long, but that doesn't mean it feels long. It goes by quickly because it is full of action-violence, and it's all good. All the while, Gimli is cracking a few one-liners that made me chuckle. The fight with the ents was just breath-taking. It looked so good! I liked it when they broke the dam and let the water in. That was cool! The romance has gotten more distant in this movie. The drama is still up there with Frodo probably being the best actor in the movie. I am so glad Peter Jackson decided to do these movies when he did, 'cause I would have never seen them any other time. Thanks for reading. P.S. Summary: Great marketing?
Review: I think it isn't necessary to add anything more about the movie itself. It's great, we all know that. The question is: is it worth it to buy this edition? Because there will be the extended edition, coming out in November.
This is money talking. It's obvious that the idea is to get you to buy both editions. You're craving for this movie!! You've been waiting for it since it left the theatres, and you'll be out there, in the 26th of August, first thing in the morning, to get it. But then, when the extended edition comes out, you'll want to get it too, because it has all those extra scenes and features. What to do?
I think that if you really liked the movie but don't want to spend a lot of money, it's better to rent it and then buy the extended edition. But note that in the "Fellowship" the extra scenes didn't really add anything to the movie. Excluding the hobbit's presentation, it was more a promotion of the beautiful New Zealand landscape. I'm hoping that, in "The Two Towers", the extra scenes will add more to the battle of Helm's Deep, or some new facts that weren't visualised in the theatre version.
On the other hand, once you watch the extended version, that's it. The normal version is perfect if you want to review the movie, simply because it's shorter.
In conclusion, if you're a hard-core fan and can afford it, buy both versions. But, having to choose, I would go for the extended edition, since you can always rent the normal version.

Summary: There are reasons to get BOTH dvd versions ! ! !
Review: It has been a long time since I've seen Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in a theater and now I can't wait to get the DVD! I do find The Two Towers to be better than the first part, The Fellowship of the Ring, because of the much increased action and comedy sequences. The Two Towers focuses on group of characters throughout the movie so you get to know characters like Pippin and Merry a lot better. ....So here is the thing, The special extended edition is coming out again just like before. All of the documentaries and material on Disc 3 and 4 seems like it will easily match the material on the FotR Disc 3 and 4 of the extended edition and the extended ed. of FotR including the extra materials was extremely awesome by the way. The difference is that FotR had about 30 minutes of added footage. TTT's Extended Edition will have over 40 minutes of added footage. Woohooo. Hey, Longer is a lot better when you are talking about LotR because I can never get enough of it. It is too bad that the extended edition won't come out for another 4-ish months, but until then... I can watch the theatrical edition dvd that I am also getting. I find that buying both the theatrical and extended edition is needed in this case with The Two Towers. The theatrical edition will first of all hold you off until you get the extended edition. Also, The theatrical edition has "The Long and the Short of It" which is Sean Astin's short film made while shooting LotR (I really want to see this).... It has a few tv documentaries.... It has a preview of the Extended Ed. dvd AND a 10 minute preview of Return of the King!!! It also has some short featurettes that were featured on the website and other stuff like music videos and trailers. Guess what.... The Extended Edition has none of that stuff that I just said.... So it is like you are getting totally new stuff on the Extended Edition... The ext. ed. is like an entirely new movie almost with the hours of GREAT special features and documentaries you get that you will not have ever seen even if you get the theatrical version. I suggest to people that you buy both so that you don't miss out on things like the Sean Astin film... If you only have enough money to buy one, then definitely buy the Extended Edition...... The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is proving to be my favorite movie of all time. I hope that others will find out about it, rent it, or see it in theaters and enjoy it as much as I do.

Summary: Add the trailers...c'mon, it's five minutes of space
Review: Yeah, the DVD will be awesome, yeah, I'm going to buy it, yeah, the movie's the best, but can they please stop being lame and just throw the movie trailers onto the extended sets...I know they won't, I know they're trying to scam me into buying both sets, but it isn't going to work. But, for the Return of the King extended version, have some class and add the trailers. You're getting my cash, so how about throwing me a bone...but I won't hold my breath.

Summary: Great DVD
Review: I got the Lord of the Rings: FotR Platinum Series Extended Edition. It is just awesome. All of the extra footage really helps with the story line. It helps slow things down so they're easier to understand for those who haven't read the books. Plus, the extras helps you understand the work that went into making these great movies. They did a great job of converting these great books into movies. Of course it's not going to be exactly like the books. Movies never are... ever. So anyway, I look forward to getting this edition of the DVD. My family is already bent on buying the regular edition of it so I'll be able to see the extras in that as well as this one. I can't wait until November! (Not to mention December when The Return of the King comes to theaters!)

Summary: Worth waiting for
Review: A truly remarkable achievement. As both a Lord Of The Rings purist and a fan of the movies, the extra features on this DVD are well worth investigating. For the sceptics out there who have yet to be convinced about the incredible achievement of transferring the book into movie format, this DVD may not convice you entirely, but it will certainly open your eyes to immense amount of work involved in the process. Whilst the 30 minutes added onto the 'Fellowship - Extended Edition' may have left you feeling a little starved of exciting extra footage, the 43 minutes added to 'The Two Towers' brings a new dimension to the movie. One to satisfy both the purist and the movie buff.

Review: This movie is a great movie but would have been better if they would have called it LOTR: The Battle of Helme's Deep! Don't get me wrong this movie is great but there are to many add-ins that take away from the book. Though I know it would be almost impossible to fit it all into one movie adding in stuff DOES NOT HELP! But the stuff they did put in from the book was great!and helped me keep this movie a 4 star movie!

Summary: Two Towers ranks top on my list of all time greats!
Review: The cinematography was amazing, and so was the acting. The Two Towers was jam packed with action, thrills, and surprises! The scenes that were done digitally were nearly seamless, and the places like Isengard, and Helms Deep were done superbly! This movie has tons of great music clips like Gollum's song, and the music from Helms Deep. This movie is totally amazing and I can name none which I liked better!
