Review: The only reason why this set receives two stars is because of the packaging. I bought several 007 DVDs individualy and to complete the series I have to buy two box sets and obviously end up with several doublicate movies (among them Die another day)!!!Next time sell them as individual DVDs as well!

Summary: A MUST own collection!!!
Review: These DVD sets (1, 2 & 3) are an absolute MUST have! It's next to impossible to get some of these movies unless you get the sets. I already owned some of the movies, but I just sold the copies I already had on Ebay.
Each DVD's special features are very informative and almost as much fun as watching the movie. It's a blast to see all the behind the scenes stuff.

Review: These DVDs are identical to the ones released a few years ago. If you already purchased them the first time around save your money, and hope that MGM will one day release something DIFFERENT, and NEW for 007.

Summary: Great Films, Horrible Marketing
Review: Well, James Bond is being released yet again. These are the same special edition dvds that were released three years ago (replacing a few early barebones dvd editions) for the high price of $35. They were then pulled from shelves and placed on moratorium by MGM not long after initial release, when the dvd format started to take off, nonetheless. To coincide with the theatrical release of Die Another Day, MGM fed on our appetite for Bond by releasing seven films, both in a gift set and individually, only to make us salivate another year for the rest of them (they were going to release one in the spring but pushed it back to give the dissapointing Die Another Day a big lone payday on dvd). Now the rest of the Bond catalogue is being released for the holiday season in gift sets only. Currently, all of the early films' soundtracks and most of the films video is being remastered for new special editions to coincide with the next Bond flik in 2005. So, for those of us who purchased a few favorite films individually last fall and planned on purchasing a few favorites yet again this fall, are forced into buying these gift sets instead. I'd love to have the entire Bond library, but not if they're going to have new & superior editions in two years. Even if I decided to purchase the gift sets now, I'd be doubling up on films that I already purchased last year. Very few people want A View to a Kill for anything more than completing the collection, so does anybody really want to buy it twice in two different releases. MGM really wanted to squeeze us Bond fans dry I guess. After waiting so long for these films to be re-re-released, I just feel kind of duped and dissapointed. Too bad Q's not here to fix this poor and thoughtless marketing campaign for us.

Summary: Not as Good as Vol 1, but definately worth getting
Review: While I think Vol. 1 had more consistantly good films, Vol. 2 is no pushover. *While Goldfinger will probably always be my favorite, From Russia with Love is still a great Bond film (with one of the best villians IMHO). While better than Dr. No, this one can be quite boring at times. *You Only Live Twice is one of Connery's weaker Bond films (see also Diamonds are Forever) and you couldn't believe how disappointed I was when Blofeld was revealed (the whole theater went crazy). I never believed for a second that James Bond looked Asian at all. *Diamonds are Forever was a big letdown after OHMSS, and Connery, who was looking too old for Bond at this point, should have stayed out and Lazenby should have stayed. Charles Gray was also a dud after Telly Sevalas perfected Blofeld in OHMSS. *Moonraker was basically a Star Wars knockoff. With all of the hype that came out of SW, Cubby Broccoli tried something new in having Bond go into space. This was actually a decent film up until the last 20 minutes or so. BTW, I can't stand Hugo Drax. *This is where I disagree with the previous reviewer. For Your Eyes Only is one of the best entries in the series, as Bond returns to earth after Moonraker. This is Roger Moore at his best (never lived up to Connery), and while the action is toned down a bit, it has the best Bond girl in Melina. A horrible villian and an annoying kid kept this from being higher on my list. The best Bond song was "For Your Eyes Only" by Sheena Easton. *Growing up with Bond, I was initially disappointed when I went to see The Living Daylights. The villians are officially the worst in the series, though having a Bond girl (Kara) that needs to be protected is a nice change for Bond. I have recently grown to appreciate Dalton more, but Licence to Kill (yes that's how it is spelled) is still the better movie. *Pierce Brosnan has been a savior to the Bond series. While Connery will always be my Bond, Brosnan is a close second. The World is Not Enough is a good Bond movie, though not as good as Goldeneye. While the villian (Renard) and the Bond girl (Dr. Christmas Jones), are not up to par, Elektra King really makes this movie. Brosnan returns the ruthlessness that was present in the Connery era (look at Elektra for evidence) and it makes him truly one of the greats. ***Buy this set, and get the third only if you are a true Bond fan (OHMSS and Thunderball are worth it).

Review: Who on earth is dumb enough to have veiwers skip Moonraker!
Moonraker is so outrages, like the gondola racing onto land in Venice, is sheer fun.
Not to mention the most beautiful Bond music of all. And don't overlook Dr. Goodhead. Moonraker is wacky enough to be several movies in one. i always enjoy the fun of it's locals.
Bring on the rest of Bond especially after a hard days work

Review: Why are these going out of print?? again???, this marketing behavoir is getting old!!!!!, about the only one I care for here is "The Living Daylights", Timothy Dalton really brought back the Bond that Connery embodied & this was a good improvement over the two before it(A view to a kill & Octopussy), In this one Bond gets more than he bargained for when he is sent on an assignment to stop the Russians from controlling the foreign drug market, definately worth owning, my real review here is the boxed set itself, why are these no longer sold individually?, has MGM not made enough money off Bond?, or is Bond their only cash cow?, you be the judge, but I would not recommend people buy this until MGM releases them again!!!

Review: Yes, I thank anyone who found my review on Vol. 1 helpful. Well, as it says in the title this is the best! First there's my favorite Bond film "From Russia With Love" starring Sean Connery as 007. This is the first movie were we see Ernst Stavro Blofeld. But we never see his face. He's my favorite Blofeld of all. It has cool villains including Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya) and Donald "Red" Grant (Robert Shaw). Klebb is the ex-Head of Operations for SMERSH. She has cipher clerk Tatiana Romanova belove 007 and then kill him and give them the ultimate decoding tool, the Lektor. Great fight with Grant. Then there's my third favorite Bond "You Only Live Twice", very, very underrated. It has a great performance by Sean Connery, oh, God forbid! This is where we see Blofeld's face first. He's the best facial Blofeld. Blofeld tries to start make the Cold War WWIII. It's a great movie. And this is Connery's sleeziest appearance as Bond (yes including - oh, God forbid! - "Never Say Never Again"). Charles Gray did a great job portraying Henderson, but Blofeld??? (Choking noise) I mean c'mon, Sean, what happened. Yes, your kin's death is tragic, exactly why you should avenge your kin and kill Blofeld. Make this a revenge story, not some sleezy smuggling story. Plus, Jill St. John's voice. From the beginning to the car chase her voice is deep and sexy. But from the scene where she's captured by Blofeld outside of the Whyte House until the fight scene, her voice is annoying and high-pitched. And for the last scene, her voice is deep and sexy again. But it's OK. I admit I'm underrating it by about half. It was my first Bond film. Oh, God forbid I'm about to say this: MOONRAKER ROCKS!!! It does! Way underrated. Jaws and Drax are cool. I, mean give poor MOON a break. You don't recognize a masterpiece like MOON, yet you drug addicts and alcoholics, who should be living in North Korea say, "LTK's great!" "How much alcohol have you had?" "Well, I've had 20 jugs of rum! And about 30 bags of heroin. Then 40 bags of raw opium! Aren't I great?!" It's just as nonsensical as saying titanium's as soft as rubber. A little off the subject, sorry. It's a great movie. Drax plans to annihilate Earth and create his godly race. I call it Operation Noah's Ark. Oh, yeah! Now here comes Moore in the spotlight. Away with the camp tongue-in-cheek. On with the Bond our buddy, Sean, played. Way to go, Rodge! FYEO is a serious film. Even though the plot revolves around a gadget, it's almost as gadget-free as FRWL. Go, Rodge! He IS Connery here. There is one Greek friend from which Gogol will get the ATAC which can make subs go ballistic. This is the only film without an M. After Bond fails to find out who paid Gonzales to kill the Havelocks, Tanner, M's temporary replacement, owing to the fact that Bernard Lee was dead, gets his good line by saying, "Don't muck it up again, 007." The scene in Q's laboratory has Bond be the one who says, "Oh, Q, stop this quips," in this scene. I thought it was funny when Q's looking for the right nose size, and he has this Pinocchio schnozz and Bond says, "A nose, not a a banana, Q!" So Aris Kristatos blames Milos Columbo. Columbo blames Kristatos. Who is the suspect? Watch. Dalton's good side shows, unlike the terrible LTK, LD is a good film. It's where General Georgi Koskov says Leonid Pushkin is the reason to defect from the KGB. For Smiert Spionam, aka SMERSH, will be started again. Pushkin denies it. Bond believes Pushkin. Very exciting. Definite watch. Ahhh, Brosnan, second only to Connery, in his best outing yet TWINE. Here 007 protects Elektra King, from the psychotic, Victor Sokas, aka Renard, the Anakin. He will turn into Darth Vader one day. Just joking. It's the Anarchist. Very exciting. It has a cute snow bunny, Elektra. See her in a mink coat. Whoo-wee! Denise Richards not as hot. Cool movie, definite watch.
