Rating: Summary: Will The Ring Take You Review: Will the Ring Take You? Title- Lord of the Rings the Two Towers Rated- PG 13 Made in- 2002 Producer-Peter Jackson Run time- Hey, do you like easy to follow plots that don't get you confused? Great special effects that make you want to see the movie over and over again, costumes that look like they are from that time era and a setting that looks like you could go there for a vacation (in this case you wouldn't its not to friendly looking). Then this is the movie for you. I will be telling you about four basic elements for movies. (I have listed them above) so just to give you a taste read below about Lord of the Rings the Two Towers. The plot for this movie is easy to follow. They don't skip around to different times but to the characters location. Some are riding trees and some are helping frodo and some are with the king. And they just show were they are. The special affects are first class. I say they are tied with the matrix if not better. They wrestle beasts and make tens of thousands of ogars (They are like humans ect. They are made of wood and water.) Remember when I said that some are riding trees well that is also one of the special affects tree beard (one of the trees) lets Merry and Pippin rides him. (Two hobbits) Ride him while trying to help Frodo at the same time. The costumes are very good to. They don't look like Halloween costumes. They look like they would actually be worn in that time. No Halloween costumes here! The last thing I am going to talk about is setting, in some scenes look peaceful and makes you think that there are no stage props here. They make a grass hill look like a dome house. So if you go to Blockbuster and want to rent a great movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat in anticipation, then this is the movie for you. So go out and rent the Lord of the Rings the Two Towers.
Rating: Summary: A must for Ring fans Review: This DVD is a must own for Lord of the Ring fans. Im not going to go to any of the storyline of Fellowship. The movie part of this DVD has 30 more minutes added to it. It shows some deleted scenes, and scenes that will help you understand some parts of the next movie. The appendices to the movie are cool. They show the making of the movie, go into character breakdown, and basicly tell the epic of making the movie. Like I said earlier, this is a must for all Lord of the Ring fans. Don't miss out on it.
Rating: Summary: o.k Review: It was o.k the only good thing about the movie was that Orlando Bloom was totally HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Simply the best. Review: Lord of the Rings, a book that so many have loved for so long, now placed on the silver screen by Peter Jackson and many more. Nearly as perfect a Tolkien's work, this adaptation must be the best that has ever been made, and is sure to please even the most strickt of Tolkien's purists. I love this set, and don't know what I would do with out it. If you love Tolkien, than there is no way that you would not love this. I can see that there are many more reviews that go even deeper into the set, so I will stop here. Just know that this IS the BEST movie ever made in the eyes of millions, including myself.
Rating: Summary: Oh, what could have been? Review: On the question, should this movie be purchased? Possible, but mostly likely NO. That's what a review on amazon.com should be about. To further explain, if you are a collector of movies and a big ( but not true) tolkein fan, then maybe, just maybe, you should purchase this movie. Else-- Just rent it one time and be done with it. Peter Jackson misses many of the main points of the written story. One of the main points of the Lord of the Rings (book) is that Aragorn accomplishes much of what he does to be worthy of the elven princess, Arwen. In the book Arwen is praised as an evening star, untouchable my most mortals; yet Aragorn aspires to wed her, the most beautiful female on the planet. The character of both the ent and Faramir are trashed by Peter Jackson works and the changes he made are poor choices in that the changes hurt the story and do not improve on the orginal text. So, although the movie has some merit (mostly in visualy effects) this movie should not be purchased by the masses and therefore only recieves one star from my review. I can recommend that you read the original books. Which can also be purchased at amazon.com
Rating: Summary: Fellowship of the Rings - extended addition Review: A few quick words; While the original theatrical release was highly entertaining, I whole-heartedly recommend the extended version. I would say this even if you weren't a fan of the books, but definitely if you are. The additional material, especially "concerning hobbits" is a treat. However, the original release did include some "making of" programs which were nice, and are not on the extended DVD. This extended release includes appendices about the story, design, characters, and locations. It also includes audio commentary by the cast, writers and directors, etc which was quite interesting to me. As far as the movie, even with all the hype I still was amazed when I saw this in the theater. I was completely drawn into the movie, and it was very entertaining. I thought some of the special effects may have even been a touch over the top, but that's just my opinion. To even be making a 3 part theatrical version of the books is just amazing. Shawn
Rating: Summary: Good, not great... Review: People act as if this trilogy is the second coming of Christ. I hear people hyping Return of the King up as the best movie ever made before it's even been released. I'm not knocking Lord of the Rings; in fact, I think they're quite good. But not great. If you haven't seen any of them yet, don't expect what everyone is saying about them; that is, masterpieces. Alright, you can click "Not Helpful" now.
Rating: Summary: Awsome Review: This was an awsome movie, I usualy dont like things like this and D and D but this was a really good movie that I would recemend to anyone. I think anyone of any age would enjoy this. It has great specail effects and great action! The actors are perfect for their rolls. I think this is the Star Wars of this generation. Though it did prove to be kinda long it was never dull or boring. I really think this is one of the collest movies I have ever seen. It is about a man or hobbet what ever you want to call it or him and he gets a ring full of amazing powers. Now the evil creatures want this ring so they are all hunting after him. I dont know what more to say with out giving the whole thing away. It also doesnt hurt that Liv Tyler looks really, really good in this film!
Rating: Summary: The best movie of 2001! Rating: Summary: Great Start For A Great Series Review: With a 4 hour movie, 7 hours of appendicies movies (each about 30 minutes long) extras, and 2000 Photos not even the most obsessed fan is likely to see all there is to see. It has more stuff from the book including the new scene "The Green Dragon" and extended scenes everywhere you look. The only things I would have liked was about Tom Bombardi, although it wasn't major in the book. I would have also liked a longer scene of the fellowship traveling down the river. Overall, it was a great movie and you should buy it.
