Summary: Gungrave Vol 1 almost put me to sleep
Review: The first episode is extremely boring. The second, third, and forth episodes go back Brandon's past. These episodes were almost interesting, but still progressed at a slow pace. The plot and dialog from episodes 2 through 4 could have been compressed into one good episode. Brandon, who is the young Mr. Grave (the star of the show), is a mute, so he doesn't have any dialog. Overall, I had a hard time staying awake.

Summary: Gungrave...not quite what you might expect
Review: Those thinking this is another version of Trigun will be disappointed. Gungrave is actually a lot deeper and more complex. The lead is short on dialouge, but the story has more depth and character development than most anime. The first DVD is more about the main character's past than about the reanimated killing machine he's become, but it definitely leaves you wanting more.

Review: When I saw this volume I had never played the game before but it didn't matter this anime stands on it own as a great character driven Mafia story Brandon Heat and Harry McDowell are two best friends that are nothing but lowlife street punks who do what ever to get ahead but all that changes when their friend (also Brandon's love interest) Maria's father is killed and now Brandon and Harry find themselves on the run later they find out that Maria is now in the custody of Millennion a crime-syndicate that is all-powerful to get closer to her the two friends join Millennion as hit men now what shall be the fate of Brandon, Harry and Maria other than the first episode which was good but based more on the game the rest of the series is pure genius the pacing is quick and engaging what I love most about this series is that it really gives you a sense of history of each and ever character not only that but how they change physically and how they grow as a person how relationships change and how bonds are broken in this volume we enter the world and are shown the present in which Brandon is dead and through science has come back only this time he calls himself "Beyond the Grave" and he is out for revenge on those who had a hand in his death one of those being Harry also to give us a feeling of the history of each character flashbacks are used showing the past giving us more of an understandiing of the present and why things turned out the way they did. This anime is nothing short of a masterpiece in every way.

Summary: HOT!!!!!!!!!
Review: YO!, I bought this movie with the thoughts of how much action it would be. I read the back of the case and thought "okay, this seems intersting". I did not expect a anime to have so much plot and character development. This story is really really good and that is just the first Vol. I would have love to see more of the present day Brandon, but I have to admit the mob influenced past is really addictive and it does leave you wanting more. This is a really great beginning to what appears to be.. ONE HELL OF A GOOD ANIME.
