Summary: Greatest horror film ever made
Review: Genuinely frightening. Strong plot, which usually horror films lack. Great musical score enhances the drama. The best horror I have ever seen.

Summary: A Carpenter Masterpiece
Review: The mute killer, Micheal Myers, escapes from the mental hospital to go after his sister and anyone who gets in the way. A well crafted and scary movie starring the scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis. The music, composed by Carpenter himself, only makes it scarier. The movie thoughtfully illustrates what the boogeyman should be for ultimate terror. Definitely the firstof it's kind and the best of its kind. GRADE: A

Summary: Gripping, edge of your seat thrills
Review: Jamie Lee Curtis as the terrified babysitter,Donald Pleasance as the eccentric psychiatrist/doctor of the escaped psycopath. Thrilling edge of the seat horror as Curtis is subjected to a night of extreme horror. Michael Myers murdered his sister as ayoung boy to be locked up in a mental institution. After a 30year wait he escapes on the eve of Halloween. He returns to his home town of Haddonfield with Dr.Loomis(Pleasance)en tow to destroy the remaints of his family and anyone who tries to step in his way. A very young Curtis is very believable and Pleasance is his usual straight acting self. Amust for all horror/thriller fans, new and old.

Lock your doors, bolt your windows, turn up the volume and turn out the lights, prepare yourself for John Carpenters masterpiece.

Summary: One of John Carpenter's better films
Review: Halloween is certainly chilling and provides moments of extreme terror. Really, it's actually a decent horror film despite the fact that I hate slasher films. Still, John Carpenter's best film is The Thing.

Summary: A classic!
Review: Jamie Lee Curtis is wonderful in this classic thriller. Halloween is one of the best horror films ever made!

Summary: THE ABSOLUTE BEST HORROR MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!
Review: there are many, good horror movies, but without a doubt halloween is the best of all time, it is vastly more entertaining, and believeable than either friday the thirteenth, or nightmare on elm street, its believeabilty is what makes it so scary, the slowly drifted away from the realism as the series went on, but this is still my favorite series of movies of all time!! Its a classic, if u havent seen it, ya got to.

Summary: The Best Horror Movie Ever!
Review: Halloween is the best horror movie ever. Okay, so it's not the scariest, but by far is the funnest. Literally, you'll be screaming, "NO! Don't go in THERE, you IDIOT!!!" Or even, "Uh...behind you..." The fact is this film is still scary despite the fact that not too many people die in it and it isn't gory at all. Just like "The Blair Witch Project," it proves that even low-budjet films can still be classics. It also proves that it is really the music in a horror movie that ultimately makes a horror movie scary as it boasts an unbielievable soundtrack that keeps you wide-eyed. It's sequels, however, became scarier and gorier, but this is still the best. "Scream" and "Friday the 13th" are just rip-offs of this masterpiece. A must buy.

Summary: DEFINES THE GENRE... PERIOD.
Review: FOR THIS VIEWER, THE POWER OF HALLOWEEN ISN'T IN THE MURDERS, THE MAKE-YOU-JUMP SCARES, THE BLOOD, NONE OF THE OBVIOUS STUFF. THE POWER LIES IN THE SUBTLE TOUCHES THAT ADD UP TO MAKE THE FILM SO COMPLETE. FOR ME, THE SCENES OF LAURIE SEEING OR NEARLY SEEING THE KILLER IN EVERYDAY SETTINGS IN BROAD DAYLIGHT ARE UNBELIEVABLY FRIGHTENING. ALSO, THE HUMOR IS SO WELL-HANDLED, IT'S PLACEMENT ISN'T ALWAYS PREDICTABLE, AND IT SERVES A PURPOSE. WE RELATE TO AND SYMPATHIZE WITH THE CHARACTERS. AUDIENCE INVOLVEMENT BECOMES INTIMATE, NOT VOYEURISTIC. THE SETTINGS, BOTH AS PLACES AND AS TIMES OF DAY OR NIGHT ARE USED TO FULL EFFECT ON MANY LEVELS. THE MUSICAL SCORE SEEMS TO TAP INTO SOMETHING SUBCONSCIOUS... THEN, THE LITTLE DETAILS, WHICH IF LISTED WOULD BE SPOILERS. I WILL SAY THAT ONE OF THE SHOTS OF THE KILLER AFTER A MURDER IS SHEER GENIUS, AND MAKES IT ALL THE MORE CREEPY. A TRUE CLASSIC THAT WASN'T VYING TO BE A CLASSIC, JUST TO TELL A GOOD, SCARY STORY!

Summary: Classic chiller!
Review: Wow! Low-budget masterpeice about murderer Michael Myers who struck on Halloween as a child and threatens to do so 15 years later. Not violent, but extremely scary. This series was ruined by the explicit gore in 2,4,5,6 and H20.

Summary: One of Horror's Best gets a "face" lift!
Review: This was the movie that started it all for the 90's "teen horror's" but way better. This had a budget of only $600,000 and did an amazing job scaring the hell out of me. For a SCARY movie do not rent or buy Scream but rather Halloween, you will not regret it.
