Summary: What is taking sooooo long?
Review: Apparently the studio doesn't wish to make money. Here's a hint....RELEASE THE REST of the MASH seasons on DVD! <let's see if they get the hint yet) It's not as if it takes a long time to put together all of the bonus features.....THERE ARE NONE -- but WE DONT CARE in the end....just really want the DVDs of the series. It's hard to believe that something like The Simpsons is already ahead of a brilliant series like MASH in bringing out its DVDs. Please, we don't want to be 80 years old by the time the rest of the seasons come out. HELP!

Summary: I can finally stop attempting to record them all on VHS.
Review: Yeah, my family and I actually tried to record every MASH episode on VHS. After 12 (!) six hour tapes were filled we discovered that it wasn't worth it. Editing out commercials is hard and leads to missing chunks of the show, too many episodes got recorded twice, I had no idea what order the episodes were supposed to air, and tapes get destroyed very easily. These DVDs are almost too good to be true, though they have some flaws for us hardcore MASHers.

First, every show is in order and I found that there are four shows in the first two seasons that I have never even seen. For some reason, I had missed those shows through all these years. Seeing them now was like Christmas for a five year old.

Then, imagine my surprise to discover that every episode has additional footage. Each episode had a couple of minutes of footage shortened or removed before being aired. Now, we get them back. Some of that footage is excellent and gives each show added depth, extra laughs, and makes some of those remarks in later shows really funny. Remember how the characters make casual, almost under-their-breath references throughout the shows? Well, some of those references will only make sense if you see the additional footage on the DVDs. That alone makes them worth buying for us MASHophiles who revell in minutae.

On top of it all, the audio options are great. Turning off the laugh track is a great idea. There are remarks that you could miss because of the laughter. Plus, it just seems more natural for the sardonic wit of the show. Then, if you're feeling a little adventerous, watch your favorite episodes again with french or spanish dubbing! That'll get a laugh just on it's own. The first time you hear Hawkeye with a french accent, you'll wet yourself. OK, maybe that's just me.

My only complaints are what everyone seems to be missing: no "Play All" feature and no real extras of any kind outside of the extra scenes and audio options. I imagine that after all these years, cast commentary would be nearly impossible (or possibly too expensive), but I can't help but wonder what it would be like to hear Alan Alda doing commentary. I guess I can dream.

Summary: Can't wait for Season Three
Review: I LOVE this video collection. I have been a fan of M*A*S*H for years. I used to watch it every morning while getting ready for work until FX moved the time slot back an hour. I heard a rumor that FX will no longer be showing M*A*S*H after January 1. It will be shown on the Hallmark channel which I don't receive so this collection comes at a great time. The clarity of the picture on the DVDs is unbelievable. I agree with other reviewers that I would love to see a play-all feature and behind the scenes extras would be great. I happen to like the BJ/Charles era better than the beginning so Fox can't release the DVDs fast enough for me. I hope that they do, indeed, release all 11 seasons and don't stop in the middle. I highly recommend buying this DVD set if you are a fan of the show.

Summary: M*A*S*H 1 & 2
Review: As a addicted fan of M A S H, I am thrilled to be the proud owner but I agree with the others who have reviewed this set-there is too much time between releasing the seasons. I would like to see them released as quickly as they can be compiled. M A S H was a great series and fans are eager to get the entire set and quickly.

Summary: ...That's a nice thing to call us Vampires...
Review: When FX started showing MASH on a regular basis I could not have been happier. Until the DVD's began to arrive. Not terribly laden with extras to speak of. But all of your favorite episodes, with unbroadcast scenes that were trimmed for advertising time.

If you're a MASH fan, these sets are a must have.

Summary: Enjoyable shows
Review: This is a great DVD package. The 2nd season shows are even funnier than season one. Its obvious the M*A*S*H actors, writers and producers were slowly getting better as time went along. Everything seems more polished and smooth. As with the season one package, you can turn off the laugh-track if you wish. DVD picture quality is good, considering it's a TV show and not a feature film.

Summary: C'Mon Fox, Get Moving!
Review: There has never been a series as brilliant as M*A*S*H. The humor, drama, sentiment, characters, etc never gets outdated. A series you can watch 100 times and still laugh, cry, etc. The only problem is....TV series that add up to zero are already several seasons into DVDs but the greatest one of all is taking so long to produce? ...

Summary: I love MASH, but...
Review: This is a great boxed set to buy for any MASH fan. It is truly wrapped up well and a great addition to anyone's DVD collection.

While I love the series and I was happy to have these, I would like to see at least some kind of basic special items, etc. Behind the scenes...something. But alas, there are only the episodes.

The one EXTRA would be listening to the episode in French or Spanish...that has been fun...the dubbing cracks me up.

Overall, this set is worth the money and all MASH fans should buy this set.

Summary: A must have for any MASH fan, but get on the ball, FOX!
Review: I have been a MASH fan almost all my life and was thrilled to learn they were releasing the entire series on DVD with the full season in one collection, beats the 3 shows at a time you could buy before. Now, of course, many other TV shows are doing the same.

But come on, FOX! Almost 18 months between seasons? By the time you put out season 3, Star trek TNG will have every season out. We're going to buy them all, unless die before you finish releasing them.

Summary: Season Two includes "Incubator"
Review: Bar none, the funniest episode is included here. "Did you really yell give me an incubator or give me death?" asks Lt.Col Blake. Kudos for these MASH DVDS as they are beautifully remastered and uncut for the first time in years. Just keep them coming. Season three is due out in winter '03 and that will include "Abyssinia Henry". My question is will they keep churning out MASH on DVD with the Col Potter, B.J. Honeycut, and Maj Charles Emerson Winchester era episodes?
