Summary: Charlie's Best Angels
Review: I strongly feel that season 2 of Charlie's Angels was probably the best season of the entire series run. Having to make up for the loss of Farrah they cast Cheryl Ladd and she turned out to be the most successful new Angel. Cheryl Ladd brought a lot of fun to the show and I think did a better job than Farrah. Jaclyn Smith shined as Kelly, though her acting may not have been the best during the first season, it started developing more and more, and she was by far the most beautiful woman on television when Charlie's Angels aired. Kate Jackson does supurb as the unofficial leader of the group, what she lacks in the 'babe factor' she makes up in her great acting skills. David Doyle never fails to impress as the lovable Bosley who always has the girls' backs. This season also brought about great episodes with the premiere "Angels in Paradise", having the most beautiful women on television against a Hawaiian paradise made for a great episode. "Pretty Angels All in a Row", a fun episode that could rival the ever popular season one episode "Angels in Chains". It was a very special treat to see the talents of Cheryl Ladd displayed in "Angels in the Wings", where Cheryl Ladd does a big musical number. It was also a fun treat to see the actual Charlie's Angels dolls that were sold in stores at the time appear in the episode "Mother Goose is Running for His Life". These episodes along with such notable guest as Sammy Davis Jr. make season 2 of Charlie's Angels a classic.

Summary: It's All About Cheryl.....
Review: I'm thanking the powers-that-be for giving Cheryl Ladd what she deserves by a DVD release of "Charlie's Angels"! Although I admire Farrah Fawcett, people are too quick to forget Cheryl's excellent 4 year job on the show, and that she deserves the same recognition as the original trio.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the Season One release of "Charlie's Angels," which was a hastily thrown together affair that had the poorest sound and video quality I have ever seen on any DVD, and pitiful packaging to boot!

If this Season Two DVD set is not up to par, I will not buy any Sony Classic Television DVD releases and would encourage others to not buy either, until the suits at Sony gives us fans OUR MONEY'S WORTH.

Amazon customers, please keep in mind when rating these releases that we are rating the DVDs, and NOT the programs themselves!!

Summary: SABRINA....THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ANGEL
Review: ONCE AGAIN THE ANGELS ARE BACK.BUT THIS TIME FARRAH HAS EXITED AND CHERYL LADD HAS ENTERED THE ANGELS FOLD.ALL 26 EPISODES FROM SEASON 2 ARE PRESENTED IN FULL SCREEN.THE PICTURE IS CLEAR AND THE SOUND IS GOOD,BUT THERE ARE NO EXTRAS,SUB-TITLES OR COMMENTARIES.THE STUDIO'S RELEASING THESE OLD SHOWS DON'T GET IT,WE THE FANS WANT BONUS FEATURES.A WHERE ARE THEY NOW OR ANGELS REUNION COMMENTARY SEGMENT WOULD BE NICE,BUT THIS SET OFFERS NOTHING OTHER THAN THE EPISODES AND SOME MOVIE TRAILERS.IN SEASON 2 KATE'S ACTING TALENT SHINES AND JACLYN AND CHERYL KIND OF TAKE A BACK SEAT TO HER.ALSO SEASON 2 IS LESS SERIOUS THAN SEASON 1 AND MORE COMEDIC IN IT'S APPROACH.I GIVE THE SHOW 5 STARS BUT THE LACK OF EXTRAS REALLY TAKES AWAY FROM THIS SET.ALSO I PREFER THE SEASON 1 PACKAGING COMPARED TO THIS SET.I RECOMMEND THIS SET TO ANGELS FANS OF ALL AGES,BESIDES ANY TIME YOU GET THE ANGELS IN BATHING SUITS IT'S WORTH IT.

Summary: Once Upon a Time....
Review: Once upon a time...there was this great show with gorgeous Kate Jackson (who received Emmy nominations/not Grammy's), lovely Jaclyn Smith, and cute Cheryl Ladd, and of course, don't forget sidekick Bosely (David Doyle). Even though Farrah left in the second season, Cheryl Ladd, as her sister, filled the seat. Give her(Cheryl Ladd) credit for being the follow up to that! The new DVD set is excellent! Kate shines without the Farrah phenonmenon and Jaclyn is radiant as ever! The new trio in the second season made the show stronger, and it is evident in this DVD set. Only downside is knowing that Kate Jackson and Cheryl Ladd did not get along with one another. Knowing this now, I'm constantly watching their interaction between each other as actresses. It's subtle...but who cares, the second season know doubtingly deserved higher ratings then the first season. I would recommend this DVD for any TV enthusiasist. I can not wait, and hopefully, the third season, and (yes) fourth season with chic Shelley Hack (I actually liked her character~they should have kept her), and the street-wise Tonya Roberts will be released soon on DVD too.

Summary: Charlies Angels-The complete second season
Review: One of the campiest shows of the seventies, this second season has many memerable episodes. Although Farrah Fawcett did leave after season one, Cheryl Ladd does an adequate job as her replacement (she shows a lot more skin than any other angel). I admire Cheryl for coming on as Farrah's little sister, but you can judge for yourself that her acting in this season is dreadful. I would suggest purchasing season one, if you really want to see all three cast members at their best.

Summary: New Season, New Angel
Review: Sony Entertainment has finally released season two of "Charlie's Angels" on this 6 DVD set. Arguably the best of the Kate Jackson era, the second season pretty much follows the same story structure as the first season but places more emphasis on comedy in its story telling, which I personally find to be an asset to the series. The show is mindless fantasy and the producers seem to acknowledge this with more quirky and tongue-in-cheek situations. "Pretty Maids All in a Row" is a great send up of beauty pagents and all three Angels are given a spotlight to show off there lesser seen comedic sides. Season 2 also introduces Cheryl Ladd into the group and although the chemistry between Ladd, Jackson and Jaclyn Smith doesn't quite match that of the first season with Farrah Fawcett, it comes pretty darn close. Ladd was never my favorite Angel, but she was a remarkably good choice for replacing Fawcett and fits in nicely.

Like most everything, there is both good and bad in this DVD set. First the good: 1. Sony Entertainment did a much better job packaging this collection. The box is eye-catching with great shots of Jackson, Smith and Ladd (although perhaps a little overly touched up). The DVDs within are contained in a booklet style case, with a single DVD per page. Much better than those flimsy plastic covers from Season One. 2. The overall quality of the DVDs is very good, providing a clear picture and sound for the most part. 3. The episodes themselves. With the exception of a few clunkers (Angel Flight, Angels in the Wings) the majority of the episodes in season two are enjoyable and action packed. (Gotta love those stunt doubles with the really BAD wigs).

Now the bad: 1. EDITED EPISODES! Rather than showing them as two-hour episodes the way they originally aired, "Angels in Paradise" and "Angels on Ice" are presented here in a two-part format as they were for syndication. Unfortunately, this means that both episodes have been trimmed down a bit. Frustrating to say the least, especially since it probably means that in Season Three the two hour episodes "Angels in Vegas" and "Terror on Skis" will be similarly chopped up. 2. No extras at all in this package. Granted, the extras in Season One were nothing great but at least it had some extras.

Overall, a step up from the Season One set, both in packaging and in the story telling. Farrah who?

Summary: Season 2 is a great souvenier for Charlie's Angels Fans
Review: That is, for those who were able to accept Cheryl Ladd as Chris, which I certainly didn't have any trouble doing. I knew I wanted Season 2 as soon as I heard of its release, but was even more excited upon finding that many of the episodes I had already taped for my own viewing pleasure were in fact from Season 2.
Some say it's all ridiculous and non believable, all about the limited clothing and such, and all of the episodes had the same ring-I'd say true fans would argue every one of those points. Why? Let's face it-it was entertainment! Any true fan would agree it was great getting lost in those episodes and it's great to relive that again with an entire season.
Even the suspense theme music was great, you knew when those drums started and the beat picked up, there was going to be a great foot chase (Angel On The Air) or a life and death struggle with a killer (Little Angels Of the Night)-when Cheryl's character Chris realized she was alone with the killer and was going to have to fight for her life, you knew it was going to happen and it did in a great choreographed knock down drag out furniture smashing roll and tumble fight scene-even the stunt double wasn't distracting.
There was also more character depth with Kate's character Sabrina falling in love with the unfortunate guilty party (Angel In Love) or Kris dealing with her first kill of a bad guy (Angel Baby).
Of course, all isn't perfect as I'll admit. Sometimes there is a line crossed into the extremely annoying factor (Pretty Angels All In A Row). My fingers dive for the mute button when everyone screeches the beauty pagent theme and the villains are so cheesy, I feel my facial muscles twitch in a grimace when I watch them in their scenes (sometimes the fast forward button comes in handy). There is some slapstick comedy which ok, so it can't all be doom and gloom every week (Ok, the Angels as keystone cops-creative, but sigh, like I said, entertainment).
I found Season 2's stories more intriguing as well as filled with much more action. There are plenty of chase scenes, gunfire, fights with killers and bad guys (The SandCastle Murders) I remember as a kid hollering GET HIM! in yet another great chreographed fight between Chris and a bad guy, (Angels On Ice) Sabrina was fighting tooth and claw to keep from getting thrown in the closet, catfights (Angels In the Backfield) good rumble with Jaclyn's character Kelly and a bad girl from the football team),
For anyone who was encouraged and not turned off by the transition from Farrah to Cheryl, I highly recommend this DVD set as a keepsake and souvenier.
