Summary: Hey Fox! Where is Season 2?!
Review: This is an wonderful DVD. I remember watching the show as a little girl and continued watching the reruns over the years. I snatched up a copy the moment I saw it on the shelf.

It's a 4-disc set and includes special features such as a "making of" documentary with interviews, trivia challenge, Emmy Award footage and original CBS promos.

An insert in the DVD says Season 2 will be available March 2003, but...nothing yet. One of the earlier reviewers says Fox is re-thinking releasing the Second season. That's just not right! I'm going to write and encourage them to release it (and while I'm at it I'll suggest they check out all these reviews!).

Here's the address and phone info for Fox:

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment
PO Box 900
Beverly Hills, CA 90213-0900

also,

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment
2121 Avenue of the Stars, Suite 2500

Telephone: (888) 801-9122
International Callers: (310) 649-6546

Summary: INCREDIBLE
Review: I just bought this 4 disk collection of the entire Mary Tyler Moore first season... The picture quality is crystal clear.. Unbelievable vivid colors and sharpness. It's great to see Mary, Rhoda, Phyllis, Murray, Ed, and Ted all together again never looking so good on TV.. I also love the few commentaries that are included on the alternative soundtrack on a few of the episodes. No commericals interrupt the series either...
If you buy 1 DVD TV show collection, then get this one... The episodes run around 25 minutes each... (commerical free)
They have complete shows... with a plot and make sense.
No wonder it won so many Emmy awards back in the 1970's.. The comedy holds up just as much today as it 30+ years ago, it's really cool to have these appear in the order that they appeared on TV during it's initial run.
I hope they put all 7 seasons on DVD... to have Georgette,
and Sue Ann Nivens join the rest of the cast in DVD land..
(UPDATED AUGUST 24,2003... I keep looking happily at Amazon.com to the release of Season 2.. and I still have hope... I have watched this DVD ever since I bought it last year... This show is better than what's on nowadays....)

Summary: MTM Season 2; June 2004 Update
Review: Last week (May 27, 2004)I called the latest number listed below to ask about the Season Two DVD release plans. They gave me an email address, I wrote and asked and received this reply:

"Fox has no plans to release the title in question at this time. I will forward your request onto our corporate office so they can see what the public would like to see on DVD."

I suggest that anyone interested in this show send an email. The address is:

FoxDrop@4icc.com

It's amazing to me that, with the stuff they are releasing, they can't put out the remainder of this fantastic show.

Summary: Bring on the Rest of the Seasons!
Review: I love this show. It is a classic and a jewel and I can't believe that the first season set didn't do very well in sales. I just don't believe that people would rather own complete seasons of trashy reality shows on DVD then buy a classic like The Mary Tyler Moore Show!!!!

Summary: New Fox Access Number
Review: The phone numbers for reaching Fox seen in other reviews no longer provide access to anyone involved with DVDs. The current number for that purpose is (888) 223-2FOX. I spoke to someone who promised to send an email to the corporate office to ask about plans for releasing Season 2. I had no luck in persuading the individual to give me the email address so that I could do it personally.

It's amazing how Image Entertainment released all five seasons of the Dick Van Dyke Show within a year with no hitches.

I encourage all MTM fans to mount a phone-in campaign and deluge the Fox people at (888) 223-2FOX to make sure they get the message about the demand that exists for the remaining seasons of the show.
