Review: Alec Baldwin's "put that coffee down" speech has to rival the best that was ever put on film, including Patton. The moment is his, down to the cue for thunder and lighting. Baldwin's character's capitalistic greed and passion makes Micheal Douglas in Wall Street look like Bambi.

Review: This film made me completely forget my troubles when I saw it for the first time in a theater years ago. I came out of it feeling like someone had ground me across a cheese grater, but it was a good feeling. The only caveat and perhaps someone in the industry or at Amazon.com can look into this is - why in blazes can you get this on DVD in England, but not here?!? I would order it from the British branch of Amazon.com, except that it won't work in my DVD player. The injustice of it all!

I just want to add how great it is to find an american movie that can go so in depth into showing human emotions in the best traditions of european films.
My special recognition to Jack Lemmon, one of the best all time actors (I'm gonna miss him).

Review: This is simply one of the finest films ever made. Anyone who's had to sweat out a paycheck lorded over by morons and surrounded by backstabbers will find a lot to relate to in this movie. Since this masterpiece is not yet available on DVD ( a horrendous oversight ) go ahead and get the VHS.

Summary: Stellar cast delivers an amazing performance!
Review: Few movies can boast of such a stellar cast! Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey, Alec Baldwin. The movie offers a peek at the life of real estate salesmen and is non-stop excitement as you'd expect from such a plot. Alec Baldwin's "motivational" speech to the salesmen & the last scene (I won't say!) are hard to forget. This movie is truly one of a kind.

Summary: Boring play, great movie
Review: As stange as it can be, I can't stand Mamet's plays, but likes him as a movie director. Well, this play is not directed by him, but the brilliant cast makes the diference between stage and screen. Everybody's talking too much in this real estate's world. Of course, it was supposed to be written for theater. Just add Al Pacino [with an unforgettable monologue], Jack Lemmon [at his best], Alan Arkin, Ed Harris, a disturbing, thus excellent apparition of Alec Baldwin who plays with cynicism like others drink tea, Jonathan Pryce... and you have sunshine in winter.

Review: In short, this movie is one of the greatest, most over-looked, under-appreciated films ever made. I have yet to see a movie since the release of "Glengarry Glen Ross" that presents a better ensamble. (not to mention the incredible chemistry, as each player seems to feed off one another) This movie is w/o question my favorite flick of all time. Yet, I can go to the store and find 12 copies of Mariah Carry's "Glitter" on DVD and not find this one. Hey studio people, what the hell are you guys waiting for?!?!

Review: Originally written for the stage, Glengarry Glen Ross was adapted for the screen by David Mamet himself, and the results are nothing short of electrifying. While there is nothing flashy about the sets, cinematography, or score to this film, the film still burns with intensity, which is a credit to Mamet's sharp, almost rhythmic dialogue, as well as the performances of a powerhouse cast assembled for the film. Jack Lemmon and Al Pacino are standouts in the film, both delivering nuanced performances that are aguably the best of their careers.Though the subject matter of the film may seem dull by description, this film is anything but dull. This modern masterpiece is a wonderful character study on the actions that desperate men take in desperate times, and is one of the most gripping dramas ever filmed. Let's hope this film gets its DVD treatment sometime soon.

Review: "Premire Properties" is the fancy name on the office door but inside we find a dingy office of broken down, hard drinking real estate hustlers offering property of the Florida swamp land variety at best and ocean front Arizona at worst. Their already fragile world comes crashing down when Alec Baldwin arrives one evening to inform them either sales go up or their tail ends go out the door, and the clock starts ticking tonight! All involved - and what cast - Lemmon, Pacino, Arkin, Ed Harris and Kevin Spacey as a sniveling office manager, turn in a sterling performance. The Baldwin 'motivational' speech, which would make a Marine Drill Sgt. blush is rapidly becoming a cult favorite. An all male cast with dialogue that belongs somewhere between a garage and a Men's room makes this probably not a great first date viewing selection.
