Summary: If you have ever been in sales this is a MUST have movie
Review: I have worked in sales almost all my life and this is the most insightful I think I have ever seen into the world of sales. This movie is not about real estate this movie could be about any type of sales. The bad *** bosses( Bladwin ) with the power trip, the glory boys ( Pacino ) and how much they love themselves and there well preeneded egos and of course the guys ( Lemmon ) that remember their former glory. This movie captures it all the great lies, the great stories and the lovely painful sayings "Always Be Closing" and so on. Incredible movie well cast and well directed.

Review: I watched this movie some time ago and would not watch it again. Unless you enjoy watching middle aged men ruin their careers and sink into depression I would skip this one despite the top names.

Summary: Not bad, but very overated
Review: Don't get me wrong- there are some things about this movie that I love (Baldwin and Lemmon's performances), but a few things become readily apparent when watching this film: 1.) Real Estate looks like a hard job. 2.) Everyone has a small vocabulary. 3.) Agents will swindle you without blinking. 4.) Arkin and Pacino together- they make the film twice as long as it should be. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH REPEATING EVERYTHING? Both of their entire dialogue consists of an exact statement or switched around version of what someone else just said to them. It's very annoying.

Summary: TERRIFIC ACTING
Review: The acting alone is reason enough to watch this movie. I'll confess, I bought this movie because Kevin Spacey is in it and I ADORE his work. I wish he would make a hundred movies! He is joy to watch. I have also always loved Al Pacino -- he is amazing and he doesn't skip a beat in this movie. But the one who really pulled it off was Jack Lemmon. I don't know if he got it or not ... but he deserved an oscar for his work here. He played his part to perfection! Sit back and enjoy watching the masters at work.

Review: Is this a great movie or what. The gentleman from London hit the nail on the head when he said that you don't know how to insult people until you've seen this film.Alec Baldwin should be knighted for the ten minutes that he is in this film. Same with Pacino. The man is over the top!! this is the ultimate guys' movie, and although it is probably too intense for certain people, it is unbelievably funny and too good to miss for most.

Summary: Superb Dialogue Top-notch cast led by Jack Lemmon
Review: Jack Lemmon is superb in this intrinsic movie about the harsh realities of the real estate game. I you love intense drama or enjoy fast paced talk , while peering into the psychology of real salesmen , this is for you . Goodfellas , Wall Street kind of intensity . Buy it on DVD and call your girlfriend , tell her she's staying the night , you will never look at salesmen the same way again . It is harsh , but undeniably attractive , Pacino is also magnificent as Roma the suave hustler .

Summary: ALL-STAR ACTING TEAM IN MAMET'S FINEST SCRIPT
Review: The Amazon.com review above is dead-on. This movie/script is simultaneously troubling, depressing, and scathingly funny. Powerful! You can't take your eyes off Pacino and Baldwin. An out-of-the-park home run. For those of you intimately familiar with this film, go to whatever lengths necessary to watch it when TNT occasionally airs it with "clean" dialogue looped (by the original cast) over the "TV-unfriendly" dialog (and there's a LOT). HILARIOUS!! --- Want to see more Mamet stuff on film? HIghly recommended are "House of Games" starring Joe Mantegna ("Ricky Roma" from "Glengarry..." in the original Chicago and NY casts), and "Oleanna", starring perennial Mamet favorite William H. Macy (remember him from "Fargo" and others?) Macy also starred in "Oleanna" off-Broadway with Mamet's wife Rebecca Pidgeon. I saw it, and it was great. But the film version, which Mamet directed (as he did "House of Games" and the more recent "The Spanish Prisoner"), is even better.

Summary: A privilage to watch
Review: Every so often a movie comes along that doesn't insult its viewers with poor writing and terrible actors. This movie is not only splendidly cast, but beautifully acted. Kevin Spacey, who is good in everything, is fantastic. Al Pacino is in rare form, and Alec Baldwin delievers some of the most intensly funny lines in the movie. While watching this movie you feel privilaged to be the presence of greatness!

Summary: This movie is for closers only
Review: When I first saw it, I was really troubled. The sheer power of the dialogue kind of intimidated me. But something made me go back and rent it again... I was hooked. Being so use to movies portraying wild action and effects, my mind had to adjust to this powerful story full of the best acting this decade. Anyone ever in sales can relate especially to the classic sales meeting. I tell everyone to watch it and when someone starts to make coffee at work, well you all know the line. I am mesmerized by the performances and the believability of all the actors. Sometimes, when I dont feel like selling, I watch Baldwin's part and use this incredible negative motivation to push myself.
