Summary: A Fantastic Show
Review: I'm so glad that A&E decided to release this show on DVD. When I got season 1, I had forgotten just how much I liked this show. The sense of the period and the characterizations are excellent. The only complaint that I would have would be the lack of any real extras. I was hoping for some deleted scenes, outtakes, etc. However, I very much enjoy what there is.

Summary: Dr. Michaela Quinn, First Season!!!!
Review: Return to Colorado Springs for the unforgettable first season of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman! This set gathers ALL 17 episodes from the show's groundbreaking first season, including the unforgettable pilot episode in which Michaela leaves Boston to come to Colorado Springs. Old fans will delight in revisiting favorite moments, like Dr. Mike's first kiss from Sully and Matthew's proposal to Ingrid. And both newcomers and old fans will be captivated by the story of a woman doctor raising three adopted children on her own in the west.

The second season comes out in late September 2003, and includes the classic episode where Sully tracks down Michaela in Boston to tell her that he loves her. Both the first season DVD sets and VHS sets are pricy, but well worth it. The first season DVD sets come with such added features as the A&E Biography of Jane Seymour, an interactive tour of 19th Century Colorado Springs, a listing of series awards and honors, a listing of cast biographies, and a photo gallery.

Summary: Dr. Qiunn Lover
Review: This was my family's favorite TV series of all time. Watching Dr. Quinn became a family tradition for several years; no other series on television either before or after this show has come remotely close to inspiring this kind of devoted viewing. I wish they'ed bring it back on the air, but at least we're grateful to be able to see the show on DVD again.

Summary: Excellent
Review: Unfortunately, I didn't start watching this show until part way through the second season. So I haven't seen all the first episodes, just the ones I caught on re-runs. I was excited to see that this DVD was coming out and pre-ordered it right away.

The DVD quality is fabulous - I don't remember it looking this good when it was first on! I also find the layout incredibly convenient - each episode has a written plot description on the screen before you select to watch that particular one.

Can't wait for the other 5 seasons to come out!

Summary: Timeless Show
Review: What a terrific show! I was very disappointed when CBS cancelled this series but I am grateful A&E saw the value in putting the shows on DVD. Jane Seymour and Joe Lando are terrific together. The romance is wonderfully entertaining without being smutty. The ensemble cast work so well together. Each character has his/her own quirks that make you love them all. I highly recommend this series. It doesn't lose it's charm the longer it's off the air, but instead, it only gets better. Popping in a Dr. Quinn DVD is a wonderful vacation from all the garbage that is on television these days. Well worth the money! I can't wait to get Season 2. Hurrah!

Summary: One of the few series for ALL ages
Review: When I first heard about the concept of the show in 1992, I was already convinced that I just HAD to see the very first episode (pilot). And gosh I am glad I did, I have been watching breathlessly for six years!

The first season in my opinion is the best, because it illustrates how hard it was for women to earn respect in a men's world. Dr. Quinn (Jane Seymour) is one of the first woman doctors and when she moves to Colorado Springs, a woman on her own, not married, she has to convince the townspeople that she is very capable as a doctor. Then, when she gets the care of three children, she's also a single mother. GREAT stuff!!

Besides that the life and culture of the Cheyenne people, are beautifully brought out. Dr. Quinn, gets her indian name 'medicine woman' from chief Black Kettle as she saves his life.

Beth Sullivan has created a masterpiece, a series for prime time to watch with the whole family. Jane Seymour is lead actress and we finally see that she can do more than acting in mini-series. Joe Lando (Sully), Chad Allen (Matthew), Erika Flores (Colleen) and Shawn Toovey (Brian) show us great acting as well!

Summary: Magnificent cast
Review: When it comes to television drama, a series like "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" remains unrivaled for its incomparable cast of actors, directors and screenwriters. Time and again, Jane Seymour, Joe Lando and a host of others (so magnificently cast in their roles) strike a chord within. They are much to be commended for this, as well as for what has been their (and CBS') commitment to furthering tasteful, yet highly potent, television drama of the highest caliber. Additionally, it is certainly worth noting that this series is a genuine artistic masterpiece -- I refer here to the ultra richness of the visual settings and musical score.

Countless discriminating viewers were sorry to see this series exit the airwaves -- when it seemed there was no alternative, but the long-awaited introduction of this masterwork on DVD is ample compensation. Doubtless, every season -- including the two-hour specials -- should go on DVD. Hopefully, the networks will not cease in their efforts to produce top-quality series like "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman."
