Summary: Underestimating Zep
Review: Since many will leap up and shout their praises for this incredible set there isn't much to add but here's two reasons to purchase...
1) If you love music, especially Rock from the 60's & 70's 5 just stars isn't enough. On a scale of 1 to 5 this set is an 8.
2)The version of Achilles Last Stand may be the greatest live performance of rock music I've viewed on a recorded medium. The only thing I can compare it to is the first time I saw The Beatles 'Revolution' on screen. It is that good.
I dug Zeppelin and bought each of their LP's as they came out... seems I underestimated them.

Summary: Led Zeppelin DVD
Review: After sitting down for the last almost 3 hours to browse through the mountain of material on this release, I can say with all honesty that this is worth every penny. The true genius and craft of Led Zeppelin's 4 equally impressive members shines through like the sun. The only negative here would be for aspiring rock stars - to be intimidated like this must be tough. It would be virtually impossible for anyone to ever recreate the excitement and sense of wonder that Led Zeppelin could deliver on stage. Don't wait, buy a copy and get ready to be dazzled.

Summary: LED ZEPPELIN RESSURECTED!
Review: Thank you Jimmy Page! I have always had a motto when it comes to buying anything featuring Led Zeppelin, "If it's produced by Jimmy Page, GET IT!, you'll NEVER be disappointed"

Nothing could be more true about these DVD's. The quality in both the audio and video is incredible. And the performances ROCK!

For years and years we've all known that these performances existed somewhere. Kudos to Mr. Page for finally putting them together and once again making the little hairs on the back of our necks stand up!

Buy this now!

Summary: I'm a believer!!!
Review: I will admit to being, at best, a casual Led Zeppelin fan. I own all of their albums, but that is by accident - a friend gave me the 10-CD Zep box for my birthday one year. I never saw Zep live, and I'd heard that their live performances ran the full gamut, from transcendantly brutal to laughingly amateurish. I'd seen "The Song Remains The Same" at midnight movie showings and kept thinking "If this is the best they could do, they don't deserve their reputation." I'd even go so far as to say that I'd heard cover bands do better versions of Zep songs than the band I saw in that movie.

Then I saw the Led Zeppelin DVD. Four times through since the package arrived on Wednesday night, stopping only to sleep and go to work. What I saw was a level of sustained excellence rivalled only by The Who in their heyday. I never know that John Bonham could improvise the way he did. Nor did I realize what a skilled keyboard player John Paul Jones is. And, of course, the counterpoint chiming and wailing of Jimmy Page's guitar and the marvelous instrument that is, or at least was, Robert Plant's voice. The songs, of course, speak for themselves, but do NOT remain the same, as they are given a girth and muscle missing from the studio recordings.

My apologies to my fellow rock fans. While they will NEVER replace The Who ... Led Zeppelin DOES belong in the Pantheon of rock gods. Jimmy Page has been threatening this outpouring of retrospective material for years. The wait was worth it.

Summary: Absolute Led Zeppelin
Review: [Discussing Disc One] From the very first seconds, this was an incredible experience. I was only two-years-old when the footage on DVD-1 was shot. I was never able to see Led Zeppelin in concert during their day. "The Song Remains the Same" video was somewhat of a dissapointment - this endeavour blows that attempt away. Those that are responsible for this work - Thank you! The footage is magnificent, yet raw and smacks solidly against the brain. It captures all the improvisation; one can actually witness these four creating new material on stage, literally making it up as they went along. Rock was in a state of flux, and we are allowed a long clear look at the metamorphosis brought about by Led Zeppelin's talent and daring.

And, Dear God, how about that John Bonham! During "White Summer" he makes his power known by sneaking in on Page's ad lib's and totally transforming the feel and texture. And "Moby Dick!" That alone was worth the purchase price! You can look and see one tiny drop of persperation marking the center of John's shirt, proof that he was indeed laboring during this portion of the show. And when John labored, he was unmatched by any drummer that planet Earth ever produced.

Robert Plant sang well. His voice was in his control, which is more than can be said for a lot of Rock singers in that era. Watch as he and Page play games, going back and forth, mimicking each other's notes, taking turns. A lot of fun.

How young they all were in this first disc. That in itself was intriguing. The whole performance was reminiscent of a "bar band" scenario; they were all at ease and having a blast. The crowd often was completely silent, intent and enthralled with what was going on onstage.

Again, Thanks to all who made this possible. It is a treasure beyond any words I could come up with. I'm going to buy this for both my brothers (Zep fans) and for a couple of friends, too. It's too great not to be witnessed by all.

Summary: It's Been A Long Time Since They Rocked and Rolled....
Review: 5 stars is not enough...a new rating should be established for a masterpiece like this...I give it a 10 Star rating and beyond. I've been on this earth long enough to have seen a couple of live Zep concerts...and have been patiently waiting for this event for years. If you never have seen Zeppelin live, you now have the chance. All the passion, raw energy, creativity, and talent of the band is presented true to life, thanks to the efforts of Jimmy Page and his technical magicians who have resurrected concert footage spanning the life of the band, and have restored all the magic brilliantly. Listening to Page's guitar riffs via DTS audio will keep you on the edge of your seat and your jaw will just drop to the floor as you watch him effortlessly slide up and down the neck of his guitar...truly amazing stuff, no guitar player today even comes close...if you are a guitar player, you now have a chance to learn from the master up close. Plant's vocals, especially during the early days, will send chills down your spine. He has a voice with fingers that will reach the highest of heights and grab you by the balls. JPJ's bass playing truly defines the term "heavy," and Bonzo's attack on his drum kit is something to see (watching him play you can see why many refer to him as the greatest rock drummer who ever lived...damn, during some sequences it almost looks like they ran the video fast forward...you want to see and hear acceleration and pure power, watch his solo during Moby Dick).

The DVD is loaded with over 5 hours of live footage...all of it fantastic. Even the menu interaction provides you with rare concert footage in the background as you are navigating your way around the DVD...bottom line, there is no wasted space on this DVD...every bit is used to the max...leave it to Zeppelin to do something that has never been done before...and of course, true to form, and living up to their historic reputation, they do it better than anyone else. Zeppelin fan or not, this is a must have for anyone who loves R&B, rock 'n' roll, heavy metal, raw blues, live performances, and so on and so on... hell... the dvd is a masterpiece, just do yourself a favor and buy it. It will be the biggest bang you will ever get in your life time... PS... we will probably be seeing these guys at this year's Grammy Awards, this release is EARTH SHATTERING!!!!!

Summary: The Zeppelin Flies again
Review: As someone who's thirty something, Led Zep has alway's been omnipresent in my musical mind. Sadly, there was so little visual to go with the auditory (except all the great live photographs). We have had "The Song Remains the Same", but it only showed one period of this legendary band which tells only part of the story. I can not convey enough how elated I am with this DVD, simply but, don't consider yourself a Rock fan and much less a Led Zep fan if this is not in your collection; this also goes with the new CD "How The West Was Won". The only thing that makes me sad is that when you see a band like this in all their glory, you realize how [weak] the music of today is.

Summary: A MUST HAVE!
Review: This DVD set showcases the musical journey of Led Zepplein, from 1970 - 1979. It shows their finest live performances. The visual quality is surprisingly good, considering the age and technology used to film these early performances. The DTS surround sound ROCKS! I was blown away hearing my favorite Zeppelin songs in true surround sound. This is the closest thing many of will have to actually seeing Zeppelin live in their prime. Song Remains the Same pales in comparison to this DVD set. People who say Zeppelin suked live are gonna eat thier words! If your a fan, this is a must have.
