Summary: Still the Best
Review: Led Zeppelin delivers one power-house performance after another in this DVD covering '70-'79. The picture & film quality are excellent - none of the trippy Song Remains the Same filler. The DVD captures Zeppelin at it's finest including an astounding peformance at the pinnacle of their career - Knebworth '79. It brings back good memories and an appreciation of the individual talents that came together to make the greatest rock band ever.

Summary: LEAD Zepplin, on STAGE that is!
Review: While I concur with most of what I've read here, LZ was certainly NOT a great LIVE act. Brilliant in the STUDIO, not unlike The Beatles, but on stage, painfully endless & monotonous.

Paradoxical to The Rolling Stones who SHINED both musically & in showmanship LIVE. Albeit The Stones are, in retrospect, some 40 YEARS later, considerably BIGGER than Led Zepplin & even The Beatles (see "Fortune MAG") but it's not relevant. The Stones could INTERPRET their own works such that a 1969 VERSION of say, "Jumpin' Jack Flash" bore no resemblance to the 1972 version NOR the studio version! You will NOT find that level of excitement nor creativity here & definitely not in the interminable Beatles Anthology, cited here just for perspective.

Even the most diehard Zep fan will find himself BEGGING for the interminable solos to end. Can Plant ever stop curling his hair? Clearly, Zep was arguably THE BEST in the studio but you'll need a good supply of your favorite wine or beer to get through this monotony (terrific restoration nonetheless).

Don't get me wrong, Zep is in my Top 3 bands of all time but you're kidding yourself if you think these guys can PERFORM on stage.

Oh how I long for a PRO release of "Ladies & Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones"! A prime example of a PERFORMANCE vs. a concert. If you're at all expecting a GREAT PERFORMANCE such as the latter, save your moohlah PASS on this DVD!

Summary: Play it LOUD!!!!
Review: As a former Record Company employee ( before everyone hated them) in the 70's and early 80's, and having seen acts such as the Doors; Jimi; and Zep more than a few times, and being now in the video end of things, I feel confident in this statement:" This unbelievable work of art, is exactly the reason why the DVD format was invented.Kudos to Jimmy Page; Robert Plant and Atlantic Records for refreshing my memory of quite possibly the best live Rock N Roll band in history!! hey, kids, check this out to see how a real band plays to their audience. Buy this immediately!

Summary: ITS LED ZEPPLIN FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD
Review: This is one of the best compilations of one of the best bands of our past time. This DVD is one that leaves a legacy of pretty much the best band to ever come around. It's one of those types of DVD's that makes you want to sit your kids down to watch so you can inform them on what kinds of things that this band has left behind. I sure hope that Jimmy Page never stops playing because he is my all time favorite guitar players. Buy this DVD, and share it with your family, its one of those ones you need to show to them.

Summary: Led Zeppelin Really Was the Greatest And the Best Rock Band!
Review: This was my first DVD I bought and I have to say: it couldn't have started better. The first track "We're Gonna Groove" was so excellent! "I Can't Quit You Baby" is also very brilliant! Better live than studio! The sound quality is perfect just like it was recorded yesterday. The video quality is also very good!
It's nice to see Jimmy Page playing his guitar. Why? Well you have to see it yourself. But I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it.
standout tracks in CD 1: We're Gonna Groove, Whole Lotta Love, and Dazed And Confused.

There's also extra materil like "Communication Breakdown" video and some TV performances.

CD2 is even better than CD1
They have true sound in their playing.
The standout tracks are Black Dog, Kashmir, Immigrant Song, and Achilles Last Stand

There's also good extra material: promo videos "Over the hills and far away" and "Travelling Riverside Blues" and interviews.

Summary: First review ever
Review: I can now die a happy man - well, I take that back - Zeppelin still has to do a reunion tour and an album! All kidding aside, this is what I've been waiting for. As the title of my review suggests, this is my first review of anything, period. I just finished watching HTWWW for the umpteenth time and just felt compelled to let everyone know how much I enjoy it. I have been a Zeppelin fan for let's just say quite a while. Jimmy Page is the reason I picked up a guitar 16 years ago and now I remember why. I saw Robert and Jimmy play live in Atlanta on their "Walking into Clarkesdale" tour. At that time I realized that all of the live recordings out at that time did not do justice to the band. This new DVD comes as close as you can get without seeing them live - especially in DTS. Both DVDs are great, but my favorite is the second one. One of my favorite Zeppelin songs has always been Achille's Last Stand, and I have watched the Knebworth performance of that song at least 30 times in the last two months. It is simply amazing how Zeppelin can create so much sound from just three instruments when so many other bands would be helpless without their synthesizer and dual guitars. It's really a testament to Jimmy Page. Songwriters just don't take the time to arrange their music anymore. Thank God we still have Page!
