Summary: LOVE Scooby and the Gang BUT...
Review: the sound portions of the DVDs won't work on my portable DVD player. Before anyone assumes the promblem is with my portable DVD player, I can play other DVDS and hear sound without a porblem! The Scooby DVDs works fine on the dvd player connected to living room TV. I've read all the reviews and didn't find anyone with a complaint like mine; Hence the three stars instead of five.

Summary: Scooby Doo
Review: There won't be much in this review that hasn't already been said. I was eight when Scooby Doo first aired, and I've been hooked ever since.

With the advent of video recording twenty years ago, I started to record episodes as they were played by local television stations. Unfortunately, the series was never run in its entirity (without mixing in the Scooby Doo Movies and the other spin offs, all of which were terrible). I also taped commercials and there is the occasional severe weather watch and warning scrolling at the bottom of the screen. But it was worth recording because I worked nights and there was nothing worth watching on tv when I got home. Later, separate episodes came out as collections on video, but it was impossible to collect all the shows.

With this box set, all past problems are no more. My kids enjoy these shows as much as I and they also prefer the originals to the other later series. We now have something we can enjoy together.

I know the plots are all similar but to me it doesn't matter. There is a charm about this series that cannot be matched. There are other cartoons that I feel the same way about, Smurfs and SpongeBob are examples, but Scooby Doo is my original favorite and this box set captures the show as it was originally presented.

Summary: Not the originals, bad special features, good shows
Review: These episodes are in fine condition, with the sound being a real standout. The music by Ted Nichols is fantastic. And my first complaint starts right there: The wonderful Ted Nichols instrumental opening theme is GONE. It has here been replaced by the David Mook/Ben Raleigh theme which I am officially sick of. A laugh track can also be heard on all episodes even though originally a laugh track was only on the FIRST TWO EPISODES! These episodes are the ones broadcast on syndication and this box should be re-done with the original everything and re released, with a FULL REFUND to any of those who bought the first release. Also the special features are literally painful: the one redeeming point being Scott Jerald's bathroom with Scooby-Doo decorations. The "America Loves Scooby-Doo" and "Get the Picture" features literally make me sick. Buy this for the, say, 20 minutes of great footage inside each episode.

Summary: Most overrated carton in history
Review: This is the most over-appriciated cartoon in history. Why a show featuring no-dimensional characters and atrocious writing is still haunting serious animation fans 30 years later is beyond me. Thanks for wasting our time, Warner Bros. Where's our Batman: The Animated Series DVD box set?

Summary: Doo Not Hesitate To Purchase!
Review: This is the real deal, finally done the right way. All 25 episodes from the original Scooby incarnation are here. What's most impressive about the set is the quality of the transfers. Never mind what the previous reviewer is referring to. I've seen numerous prints over the years of these episodes and WHV did a brilliant job! Of course, you'll have some imperfections since the series is 35 years old, but the picture quality is far superior to anything you'll see on Cartoon Network. The extras on the set are generally a waste of time, but rest assured the package was put together very well and should be in your DVD collection if you have a family or like vintage toons.

Summary: SUPER SET!
Review: This was perfect for my kids. They love Scooby Doo and so do I, but I could do without scrappy and Scooby Dumb. Thankfully, these episodes are all the originals - No scrappy or Dumb, and all the original voices. Well worth the money.

Summary: Scooby Doo finally is out full DVD Color and sound!
Review: Well I waited since I was a kid to see scooby for myself as well as my son who is an avid fan. A tough day at work and then watch a scooby cartoon and you forgot about your tough stressful day. These cartoons rate with and are on par with the looney toons so you won't be sorry as you will watch them over and over again. What a smart dog! Its a great present for your kids as Scooby doo has lasted thru the years. When you are waitiung for your DVD Scooby will be on another mystery. Enjoy!

Summary: Finally, old school Scooby on DVD!
Review: Well, it's official, Hanna and Barbera have finally gotten it right. Releasing the first 25 episodes (and probably the best 25) of the classic Scooby Doo series. Most fans have shelled out lots of money for a few episodes released on DVD here and there, but it's good to finally see an official collection of the first 2 seasons. Overall, the producers have done a pretty good job re-mastering the episodes, which are about 35 years old at this point in time. The picture quality is better than anything you'll see on Cartoon Network, and the sound is a tad bit better, but not really that noticeable. So you get 25 episodes at around 20 minutes in length per episode, which makes for over 8 hours of Scooby and the Gang. My only complaints are the special features, most of which are completely pointless, and the cost. I was kind of surprised at the high price, but if you're going to buy this collection, buy it from Amazon because you probably won't find it anywhere else for a lower price. Those are the only 2 reasons why I gave it a 4 instead of 5. (...)

Summary: Its About Time !!!
Review: What can one say about Scooby Doo? Let me put it this way:
*Scooby has been around since 1969.
*My small cousins LOVE Scooby.
*I still laugh at all the corny jokes.
*Its clean simple fun.
Yes, the coloring and writing may not be that good. But for people to STILL love the old Scooby shows speaks loudly. These shows are classics. I am very happy to have this on dvd, FINALLY.
