Summary: CSI Full Review
Review: Season 1 had a lot of good story lines. You get info about all the characters if you just started enjoying CSI get this DVD for all the information. I would have liked a 16:9 ratio aspect. 1.33:1 is not the best format reminds me of VHS. That being said I noticed a lot of compression artifacts on my TV from these DVD's. But most people on RCA cables will not see it. I really enjoy the show but despite the downfalls of 4:3 and compression artifacts. One of the best TV shows you can get on DVD.

Summary: CSI DVD Appears to Have a Mistake on it.
Review: First of all, let me say that I love this series. I have a few problems with the DVD though. There appears to be a major mistake on it. All the episodes are in sequence but Episode 102, the third episode of the series is shown after episode 110, the tenth episode. The first few episodes of the series begin with "previously on CSI" recaps. After that they begin like they do now with a body being discovered. On the DVD set after episode 110 it goes back to episode 102 with the "previously on CSI" and recaps the first 2 episodes. I don't know what's up with that because it is extremely annoying because they storyline in 102 is a direct continuation of 101 and to place it in the middle of disc 3 where it doesn't belong ticks me off. You have to watch the first 2 episodes and then change discs to disc 3 and then go back to disc one again.

I love watching the characters develop from episode to episode. You get small clues each week to something personal about one of the characters.

Summary: EXCELLENT START! Bring on the rest!
Review: SUPERB SHOW and REMARKABLE cast bring to life the day to day (or night shift hehe) of the Las Vegas crime scene investigators. If you're looking into this set you probably already know what the show consists of so I won't waste your time.:) My only complaint is that in 2 copies of the set I own, disc 3 episode one, scene 2 SKIPS!! Every time! This is quality television and actually has EXTRAS! WOO-HOO! You'll have a blast and learn something.. is that SO wrong?! *C'Mon T.V. execs.!!* Oh, and bring on the rest of THIS series and "Once and Again!" ;) Thank you kindly for your time and patience~

Summary: "Who are you.....?"
Review: I think this is great, it goes to show how far technology has come. For our men and women in the military, such as myself, we do not have many options for television viewing, so we rely completly on reproductions. I think we all here in europe have been waiting for CSI to come out for so long that we never actually thought it would, great show. So as the brave men and women that volunteered to support the land of freedom, we say thank you to the makers of CSI.

Summary: Would have 5 stars if it were in it's original 16x9 aspect
Review: First I'd like to say that I am really impressed with this show. I would have given it 5 stars except for on thing......the show's aspect is 16x9 widescreen and the DVD is fullscreen.

I'm guessing that the boxset is fullscreen for one reason....Warners Bros went the lazy route on this because the DVD set was actually produced over a year ago and they don't feel like re-mixing it. FYI - This boxset was released in the UK last year. I hate the fact that companies like Warner Bros don't condsider what the fans want. Considering how popular the show is you would think that they would have made both a fullscreen AND widescreen version. I give FOX kudos for releasing 24 widescreen. Why can't Warner Bros do the same?

I'm also betting that Warner Bros will release the show widescreen when HD-DVD's become popular in a few of years from now. At least it will be widescreen AND in high definition then.

Summary: A Must Have For Fans
Review: This a great set, worth your time and money. It has every episode of the first season, a music video, a short featurette on how the show came about, and character profiles. You can view it in widescreen or fullscreen, whatever you prefer.

Now, for those who have never watched the show, here's a little bit on what it's about. C.S.I. is a team of investigators who try to solve often gory, always twisted crimes with science and logic. The team is made up of characters who are realistic and flawed. They have problems at home and the job is murder, but they make it through with their passion, their intellect, and some credit is due to the nifty gadgets, I admit it. Nothing is straightforward...every episode has surprised me.

If you're looking for a romantic series, this holds very little, adventure is not a frequent visitor either, but if you want a crime mystery that will shock you and makes you think, you'll like this like Grissom likes bugs...and that's a whole lot.

Summary: Quit boxing my ratio! (CSI: A 4:3 Aspect Ratio Dilemma)
Review: Is it true? Could it be? CSI has been filmed from day one in 16:9 format and encoded for HDTV - but to my dismay I discover the DVD set is the plain 'ole 4:3 aspect ratio! Looks like crap on a 16:9 HDTV.. Beware!! Anyone know of CBS' plans to release a "true" 16:9 version!?!?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fantastic
Review: What a great show! This is a great DVD, even though it is not in HD ratio, as mentioned by the 1 star reviewer below, it is still worth it to have this awesome show on DVD. Can't wait to see later seasons and CSI:Miami on DVD.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: CSI was NOT 1.33:1
Review: This release is not proper. CSI was 16:9 HD from day one. Why, oh why is it not being released in the correct aspect ratio? Beware!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is seriously the best show ever!
Review: Theres no doubt about...that this is the greatest show. By watching this show its given me the appreciation of crime scene investigators and forensic scientists!
