Summary: Goombah free Mafiaso TV
Review: This show is so good, I am proud to compare it to the Godfather. Okay, so maye it's not 'the' godfather, but it's for sure a first cousin if not the son. It's wonderfully written, directed and acted. Never has a television show been so thought provoking and entertaining at the same time. Though James Gandolfini has been type casted, what a wonderful job he does portraying Tony. Not only was this season as engaging as the first, it also proved that brilliant televison is back. And here to stay. Atleast on DVD.

Summary: Simply The Best
Review: It's 'The Sopranos'! What else needs to be said? It's, without a doubt, the best thing to happen to television.
Marry me, James Gandolfini!!

Summary: Soprano's Season 2: Better Late than Never
Review: I have been anxiously awaiting the second season Soprano DVDs since the first season episodes were released. I rented the whole series and by the third episode I was totally hooked. What a shame though that HBO waited so long to release these shows because had they done so before the third season started I would have happily become a first time HBO customer. There was no way I was going to follow the third season without seeing the second season first. Rumour was they were going to release it back in February but now the U.S. is the only place in the world you can't buy the second season. I think this error is on par with Toy Story failing to produce Buzz Lightyear toys the first year. I am very grateful that HBO has been innovative enough to release their series on DVD and tape. The packaging on the first season boxed set is the most attractive I have in my entire collection. And I am excited to see the second season is going to be the same with attractive blue metallic foil in the folding inner case to compliment the red of the first season set. I also understand this time it is being released in a widescreen format. Its great watching the Soprano's on DVD or tape. You can feed on this feast at your own pace and never worry about missing an episode.

Summary: Can't wait for this...
Review: Though few dramatic climaxes can match or surpass the choking moment of fear in "Down Neck" as A.J. Soprano reveals his father's secret or the amazing and spectacular hospital scene in "I Dream of Jeanne Cusamano" that left us wondering whether matriarch Livia Soprano was suffering from a stroke or really relishing in the aftermath of her murderous plot against her son, the second season of HBOs fantastic groundbreaking Mob epic "The Sopranos" has its own surprises in store.

Perhaps the continuing success of the series, with its current 22 Emmy nominations, may yet convince James Gandolfini to stick it out as Tony Soprano for the fifth season and beyond, as the fate of the series beyond its possible culmination after the fourth season is now being discussed. With the unconfirmed reports of AOL Time Warner pitching $20M at series creator David Chase for his continuation on for a fifth year, we can only hope that the company's offer will similarly sweeten Gandolfini, who was been public about his anger over the show's violence and his desire to end it after the upcoming fourth season.

What is left in store? Will Uncle Junior go to trial? Will he finally testify that Tony was the acting boss during his reign so that the Feds can get to Johnny Sac and eventually the NY families? Will imprisoned Gemayo, superior to original boss Guacomo "Jackie" Aprile, finally be released and challenge Tony's power? Will A.J. show further signs of following in his father's footsteps? And will Paulie abandon the Soprano family for Johnny Sac and NY? The answers are only 39 weeks away, as the series starts again from the beginning this Sunday on HBO.

This second DVD set is worth every cent. I haven't met a person yet who hasn't loved the Sopranos, from the deep psychological problems of mob boss Tony Soprano as unraveled by his psychiatrist Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco, Goodfellas Oscar-nominee), to the Shakespearean and Greek tragedy undertones. Definitely pre-order this.

Summary: Watch out. It's addictive.
Review: In some viewer's eyes, season two of HBO's The Sopranos suffered in comparison to the sensational first season. The initial buzz of such a high calibre television show had worn off to a degree. What helps make season two so special is how those qualities that made season one such a hit were (and are) intact.

O.K., the overall feel of the sophomore season isn't as lighthearted as the first--should it be? There is much that Sopranos creator David Chase has to say about life in general. And you may find that you have more in common with the mobbed-up characters than you think. It's an interesting, edgy, wicked, funny and frightening ride that hasn't lost it's intelligent touch. The production of The Sopranos in subsequent seasons has grown (along with the size of its viewership), and the writing has been progressively more mature, dark and realistic. Yet, it's still fun to watch, even with the darker plotlines.

If you've never seen an episode of The Sopranos, please do. WARNING: Once you do, you'll probably fork over the money to buy both seasons of the series. It's THAT addictive. The episodes are more rewarding upon repeated viewings.

Summary: Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in!
Review: A box set like this is a must have, don't worry about the price, just pick it up! This is one of the best shows ever on television, and the second season was great. It was hard to follow the first season, which was amazing, and it wasn't as good, but it wasn't far off. It probably deserves a 4 star, but because it's the Sopranos it gets a 5. I think the writing in the 1st season was unmatched, as is the same for the action in the 3rd season. The acting and great story lines in each episode of the 2nd display the greatness of this show. There were some real great episodes, my favorite is the one where Tony goes back to Italy and recruits Furio. Everyone got into the Sopranos last year, but you have to check out the 1st and 2nd season to trace back all the characters and story lines. Like I said, forget about the price, just order it now.

Summary: Greatness continued
Review: The second season of the Sopranos offers more characters, more character development and more great plot lines. While it doesn't have the "freshness" of the first season, It more than makes up for it in quality. Great acting, great directing. A great story told simply and wonderfully. They resorted to more gimicks in the third season, but Season 2 retains the feel of the first season. If you liked season 1, you'll like season 2. More of the same and just as good.

Summary: Greatest series ever!
Review: So you think you know a great cable series? Fuhgettaboutit! The sopranos rule! The second season is much better than the first! Tony Soprano and clan have given HBO a monster and it just gets better! So sit back, grab a beer and just enjoy this great series! Just 1 question? When does the third season come out?

Summary: This Show Rocks!!
Review: I believe this is the best show on television. It's the only show I watch anymore - it makes other shows hard to watch. It's *that* good.

I have the season 1 DVD which I have watched several times already (I have invited several friends over to turn them on to the series), and have been anxiously awaiting this new set!

Personally, I feel like season 2 has been the best one yet. The characters are deep and interesting, and all have realistic traits and flaws. The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. You won't be able to stop watching this show.

I can't wait for season four to start! :)
