Rating: Summary: The classic series Review: Just buy it... you know you want to. It's a classic!
Rating: Summary: Great discs....BAD PACKAGING Review: THe discs are great......just great stuff...no doubt. But they are presented in a COMPUTER SOFTWARE box, and the the actual discs are in clear jewel cases...THEY DONT EVEN GIVE YOU A DISC INSERT!!!!!!! There isn't one slip of paper inside the box, and to me, that is unacceptable. I'm buying a DVD, not a computer game!
Rating: Summary: not too bad, not that great either Review: The first few episodes were a little confusing. The way the story unfolds is a bit different than most anime. I've seen lots of anime, and this one, I don't really want to re-watch for a while. It lacks that long-term appeal. If you collect anime like I do, then this is "ok" to add. Only the last half of the series makes the anime really hold together. So be patient and watch the whole thing. But I'd get some other title before this one. The extras (music videos) were cool. Animation quality is superb, sound quality is ok. Action level is a little weak. Plot, is a little old, a bit weak. The pakaging is not worth mentioning.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Anime Review: The setting, stereotypical megatokyo 2032 (every anime is set in something-tokyo, 20-something), this is fantastic anime. great storyline, and great plot development, along with action scenes that are mesmerizing. However: technically, there is a bit to be desired. The picture is not too stable, and moves a bit on screen (maybe becuase of my DVD-ROM drive, so don't take that for gospel). The sound is decent, and picture is a bit fuzzy, but hey: for 1987 vintage, it's pretty nice stuff. the "multiplay disc" simply has some extra stuff for PC: you can print out technical notes and images from the gallery that can only be viewed onscreen. and, a little pet peeve...the discs come in normal CD jewel cases, not DVD clamshell cases...so i had to go buy some blanks to throw the disk in. but i'm just wierd. but all in all, a sweet anime. it's long too, so you can cardly beat it for fun and viewing pleasure. definitely a must have.
Rating: Summary: Well worth the price! Review: This anime was the first of its kind to draw me into the world of Japanimation. Of course i seen Voltron and Robtech as a kid but i didn't realize that they were part of the Anime genre. But as i was saying about the title, i bought this before i even had a DVD player. I knew i wanted this title just from reading the packaging. I wish to thank Animego and everyone involved for an very intriguing title.
Rating: Summary: An excellent value for an excellent series Review: This box set is a must-have for Anime fans. You get eightepisodes on DVD. I was very pleased with the animation, but the onlydisappointment was the sound. The dubbed track is mono -- MONO! and the Japanese track has this annoying time-code tone that is constantly droning in the background. Other than that, this collection is excellent and I would recommend it to everyone!
Rating: Summary: get this! Review: this is a good buy... I thought it started with a few boring 1-2 episodes...but it gets better and better... in the end, I wish there was more to it... I guess the style was a bit different than usual... oh ...the sound track is ok too!
Rating: Summary: cool chicks super video art quality Review: This is a really cool viedo which combines the wonders of Japenese Anime with an incredible storyline that mirrors the classic "Bladerunner." The color is magnificent in the new DVD format and it is unbeleiveable that you can now watch the entire video in one sitting( subtitles and all ). wow!
