Summary: My Favorite Movie!
Review: All women I know love this movie! It's a classic, both funny and sad. How a foreign man like Scott could have captured the very essence of 2 women on the lam in America is a mystery. Maybe men understand us better than we think!

Summary: Classic film from Scott
Review: There are recurring themes throughout Ridley Scott's work. This film, one of his best, touches on many of the themes that make films like Blade Runner, Alien and The Duelist outstanding films. The alternate ending is interesting, although it wouldn't have been true to the film. Scott's commentary is interesting, but not as illuminating as most directors. Then again, Scott clearly prefers to let the work speak for itself (as is evident from his interview for the Alien DVD/Laserdisc).

The performances are outstanding. Brad Pitt, in a small role as a drifted who seduces Davis, demonstrates the charisma that would later make him a film star.

Summary: Wrong means to the end
Review: Much was made of this film when it came out, and complaints were made that it didn't feature any appealing male characters. I put it to you that it doesn't feature any appealing characters, period. Thelma and Louise achieve their just liberation, but the means they employ to do so are: murder, alcohol, debauchery, and suicide. Hardly inspiring for feminists or anyone else.

Summary: A landmark movie that changed all movies of the 90's
Review: This movie is more than a movie, it has become an institution. The influence of it can be seen everywhere, as female action heroes have exploded into 90's popular culture. 'Thelma & Louise' made Xena, Buffy, Lara Croft, and all of the other 90's femme fighters possible!

Summary: Thelma & Louise = Girl Power !
Review: Simply brilliant ! I could watch this movie a thousand times without getting bored. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon (both in Oscar worthy roles)star in this funny but tragic road movie about two women who leave for a three day weekened and become fugitives from the law. Callie Khouri's script is fabulous and so is the shattering and climatic finale.

Summary: a trip worth taking
Review: What is there to say about Thelma and Louise, except that if you watch this movie only once, you are missing out on a terrifc and moving experience. I have seen this move probably over 30 times, and every time, I catch something I did not catch the last time. The two female leads should have won duel oscars for their porformances, seeing how they understand every single thing about these charcters, all the way down to facial jestures and movements. The script is one of the best ever, digging deeper and deeper in the female psych of the two woman, highlighted by the vast emptyness of the southwest that is also in their hearts. The score reflects the sadness and joy of the two, creating music that even tells the story itself. Ever scene is moving, every line is meant to be, and every plot twist leads to another exciting event, in a story that drives along smoother than any I've ever seen. And the widescreen DVD is beautiful, capturing Ridley Scotts direction and cinematography of the land, all escalating to a nerve shattering ending that is exactly what it should be. This movie will touch your heart! it is a celebration of life, death, and friendship.

Summary: Excellent movie, not only for feminists
Review: This has been mistakenly branded as a feminist picture. This reviewer ( decidedly not a feminist) rates this movie very highly. The acting is first rate as is the directing and the writing. A perfect depiction of southern males (e.g. Clinton), their primitive, agressive attitude toward women and all their attendant characteristics (captivated by football games, gross behavior, etc). Highly recommended.

Summary: EXCELLENT FANTASTIC GREAT!!!!!!!
Review: More than a slap bang action film. Provides insight of two womans feelings and how they cope with the fact that they killed a man. Beyond acdemy peformances delivered by Sarandon and Davis.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: EXCELLENT!!!!!
Review: This is a spectacular movie. Although a lot of people may say it is just a "Chick Flick", it is much more than that. The writing is superb, the visuals of the landscape are captured beautifully, and the acting is truly wonderful. It is not an "All Men are Scum" movie, but an excellent female buddy picture. It explores the very serious issue of rape and how it affects both men and women. It DOES NOT justify the use of guns. It shows the possible consequences of having one. The ending of the movie is moving and powerful. Thelma & Louise will make you laugh, cry, and want to jump in a car with your best friend and drive across America. (Maybe you'll see a guy like Brad Pitt along the way!) A MUST SEE for all women AND men.
