Summary: The best of the best
Review: I just went to see the movie for the martial arts, but when I came out I could not stop talking about it. I see Jet Li as the next Jackie Chan. My favourite seen was the one in which the black gangsters get him to play football with them. I am buying it as soon as it comes out on video so I can watch it again and again. If you ever got time to spare, go and see it, you will be more than pleasantly surprised.

Summary: Nemecz's Review of Romeo Must Die
Review: This movie has it all, no matter what kind of movies you are a fan of. This one is one that you will want to see. The music is wicked, the action is great, and the whole theme of the movie is cool. So if you want to see a good movie, see Romeo must die, cause Nemecz said so. I loved this movie, and you will too.

Summary: TOO CHEESEY FOR WORDS ... but Nice!
Review: Rather predictable along the way - underlings seek to undermine the balance of power, hero imprisoned for crime he didn't commit, "you killed my brother, so I must take revenge!", mutual attraction which (thank God) doesn't degenerate into pointless bedroom gymnastics .....

Hey, it worked fine, 'cause that's what us Jet Li fans are really into: KICKING BUTT!

Summary: Romeo Is Awesome
Review: If you enjoyed the Matrix this is a must see. It is jammed packed with fantastic fighting scenes. The movie is about a war between 2 mobs. Jet Li is cought in the middle and is avenging his brothers death. Jammed full of fighting comedy and a love story, Romeo must die is a must see.

Summary: Simply the bomb!
Review: Great film! Jet Li & Russell Wong? How could you get better? Oh! By adding Aaliya, that's how! Fantastic action sequences and story line. A must see.

Summary: RUSSELL WONG RULES!
Review: THIS MOVIE IS VERY ENTERTAINING. IT'S GOOD TO SEE MARTIAL ARTS WITH A STORY. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE HERE IS THAT VIEWERS EXPECTED MORE ACTION. BUT THE ONES PRESENTED HERE ARE MIND-BLOWING, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. JET LI PROVES TO BE A GOOD ACTOR, TOO. AND RUSSELL WONG...WHO ELSE CAN YOU CAST TO BE A DROPDEAD SEXY VILLAIN? HE IS VERY TALENTED, AND YES, GORGEOUS. HIS FIGHT SCENES ARE AWESOME. I'M SEEING IT FOR THE THIRD TIME...FOR THE ACTION AND FOR RUSSELL.

Summary: Entertaining!
Review: I went into the movie with low expectations - just wanted tokill 2 hours plus see some martial arts (Jet Li number one!). I waspleasently surprised! I saw critics panning the story and complaining how complex the plot was. I liked the story and could follow the plot easily. It had a good story line and great martial arts action! Some of the editing of the fights was too much. Better to just let Jet do his thing and film it. The fighting scene with the fire hose was the best!

If you like gang/mob wars/martial arts go and see the movie. You won't be disappointed! Good music too!

Summary: An awesome film packed with action!
Review: This was a great film with plenty of action and a thick plot for this genre. It was worth all of the fight scenes. A few things he did would be impossible to do by anyone, including Jet, but that just made the film better. There are plenty of suprises along the way and the soundtrack is awesome. This is also Jet Li's first film without the painful dubbing easily noticed in his earlier films. Romeo must Die is one to see!

Summary: Half-Baked
Review: I was pretty excited when I saw the previews for this movie; I mean, come on. Jet Li, computer-enhanced fight scenes, gang rumbles, sounds like a formula for a great time.

How wrong I was. This movie was a jumbled mess of meaningless unimpressive plot twists. I won't give anything away, but I will say that by the end of the movie, just about EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER has a change of heart/reveals his evil side. By the end, I just didn't care anymore.

The fight scenes were WEAK. Jet Li shines with simple cinematography; having 5 different camera shots per movement clouds the feeling of 'flow' you get when you watch him in single-shot fight scenes (Fist Of Legend, Fong Sai-Yuk 2, etc...). On top of that, that they felt the need to computer-enhance his moves, which I guess is noble and innovative enough, and I can't fault them for trying, but they make him look like a miserable composite ON TOP of the action scene that's going on in the background. There were certainly one or two fun fight scenes, but for a lot of the time, they tried to turn him into Jackie Chan (props, slapstick physical comedy), and I didn't buy it.

Misdirection/casting of Jet Li aside, the story was pathetic. Notice something, if you go see it. Think about what would have happened differently if Jet Li's character had never broken out of prison (one of the few redeeming scenes in the film). It was almost a joke when a major character finally confronts him: "So you're the one who's been causing all this trouble! " He doesn't really do anything......

All in all, I'd have to say that this movie is the aborted brainchild of some rich producer who was brilliant enough to have the following train of thought: "You know, I sure like organized crime movies, and DAMNED if I don't love black gangsters. Oh yeah! I dig wushu, and that Jet Li guy's pretty cool. I remember about 2 pages of the Shakespeare I read in high school. I _bet_ that if I throw them ALL together into one movie, it'll be GREAT."

It's a shame people like this make movies.

Summary: COOL MOVIE
Review: Romeo must die is one good movie. Russell Wong and Jet Li havesome hella good fighting scenes. [(Aaliyah looking pretty good too)+ agood actress.] Some of the fights they made a little non realistic, and of course they made it like that on purpose. Thats why it's so entertaining. A VERY FUNNY MOVIE WITH GOOD ACTION. GET THIS MOVIE!
