Summary: DISGUSTINGLY AWFUL QUALITY DVD!
Review: All comments about the film aside, whether you love it or hate it, I have to say this is the worst DVD I ever bought. No extras. The print of the movie is poor, grainy. And it's not even in widescreen. It's an obvious video transfer. Very disappointing.

On the other hand the movie is dire. But this is a good thing. Canonball Run 2, along with its predecessor has kitch value. I mean Daisy from the Dukes of Hazard in a spandex jumpsuit?! That's worth the price of admission alone.

Summary: A truly terrible film, but impossible to turn away from!
Review: Alright folks, come clean. I know there are secret fans out there of this ridiculous mess that killed the popularity of Burt Reynolds, despite the fact that it was, improbably, a hit. Unfunny and overlong, it still remains a mystery as to why watching all these big stars make fools of themselves is a pleasure. At that price, why not add it to your DVD collection?

Summary: Brilliant
Review: An amazingly light hearted comedy about a bunch of guys who just like to have a good laugh and race through America. This films has more stars in it than you can find on Hollywood Blvd and is sure to give you a laugh if you know how to be silly. Probably not suitable for girls though.

Summary: Something just works.
Review: Cannonball Run was not a movie sceaming for a sequel, but here it is for better or worse. However, there is something about watching the rat pack mixing it up with a whole new generation of stars. It's like a Love Boat episode and about as weighty, but it's innocent fun.

Shirley MacLaine has the best line in the whole film when dressed as a nun she attracts the attention of an entire coffee shop.

Summary: Funny and Entertaining
Review: Enjoyed the movie, but was disappointed when I seen that the price was cheaper at BestBuy.com including the shipping.

Summary: 1 star is too much credit for a film like this....
Review: Hey guys,

If you know anything about this film, you'll know well enough to stay away. Yes, this film is below garbage, but again, I never thought I'd witness another film by (former stunt-driver/director) Hal Needham, Mr. Needham has a fresh approach this time, a bold approach - place the characters in the center of the frame, get acceptable lighting, place them in focus. Nothing to it. Well, there IS something to it. And it's called a Real Movie'. This film is flat out garbage. It's almost an Anti-Movie, those Hollywood pirates involved went out of their way to make a film that is flat, simple and just darn stupid. Which is why I bought a copy. Nobody - but NOBODY - makes films like this anymore. Our current studio system may hire once-talented acting folk like Ben Affleck, Leo DiCaprio, Wynona Ryder, etc., the lot, whatever. But never have we seen such a concentrated potion of ex-stars like 'Cannonball Run 2'. But we get our shot - Burt Reynolds, Sammy Davis, Dean Martin, Abe Vigoda, Telly Savalis, Marilu Henner, Jim 'Gomer Pyle' Nabors, Don Knotts, Charles Nelson Reilly, that big klutz who played 'Jaws' in 2 James Bond films, even Jackie Chan, who later found some worthwhile projects to latch onto. There are many other has-been appearences, but they merge in the film. A film which is flat-out garbage, but a film that is so bad I own. Again, I own it, but one question remains: just how much cocaine was on the set? The reason I ask? This is a movie without a purpose, a plot, a soul, a reason for being. So, drugs HAVE to be the explanation.... Did I mention that this film has to be seen to be believed? Well, you already know the answer. And if you don't - enjoy the film. In any strange way that you can....

PS: There are some really fast cars.

Summary: cannonball II gets the checkered flag!!!
Review: High speed, non-stop, fast-paced...laughs. Some may argue but this is without a doubt, the funniest dom deluise car movie ever made. Burt Reynolds again shows why he was Hollywoods top draw. This comedy dynamic duo once again sets out to tear up the highway in this cross-country laugh-fest. Awesome cameos by a virtual who's who of celebrities. Terry Bradshaw rocks as the beer-swiggin' good old boy you'll love. Pound for pound, this is the best cannonball ever.

Summary: I just don't get it...
Review: I could understand people who liked the original not liking this as good, but what I can't understand is why so many who liked the original would hate this so much, cause it's not that much different at all! This is just as much fun as the original in my opinion. Sure, these movies aren't knee-slapping funny, but they still put a smile on my face.

Summary: Call me crazy, but I like it!
Review: I don't know what it is....maybe it's that very cool chase scene at the beginning, or just the fact that I used to watch it when I was a kid, this movie still has its moments. The DVD version of the film had absolutely no extras. Not even subtitles like it claimed. If you're a fan of the movie, you'll like the increased resolution of DVD and the audio sounds really good for it to be a movie made in 1983. Get this one for your collection if you're a fan of it, if not, rent it first :)

Summary: Great Movie.... Not Great DVD Transfer
Review: I love these cannonball movies. They sure don't make them like this anymore. Stunt man turned director Hal Needham (Smokey & The Bandit) has done just as an amazing job of casting this movie as he did with the first. Returning from the first CB movie is Burt Reynolds as J.J McClure and Dom DeLuise as Victor with the alter ego of Captain Chaos. Just by reading who is cast in this movie is unbelievable...

- Burt Reynolds (Smokey and the bandit)
- Dom DeLuise (Many Mel Brooks films)
- Frank Sinatra (Rat Pack)
- Dean Martin (Rat Pack)
- Sammy Davis. Jr. (Rat Pack)
- Jamie Far (Clinger/M*A*S*H)
- Marilu Henner (Taxi)
- Telly Savalas (The Dirty Dozen)
- Susan Bach (Daisy/Dukes Of Hazzard)
- Jackie Chan (Shakespeare in love)
- Shirley MacLaine (Around the world in 80 days)
- Tony Danza (Who's the boss)
- Jim Nabors (Gomer Pile)
- The guy who played Jaws in the Bond films... and many, many more

The movie is great, just as great as the first one. Some people will dismiss it because they don't like to watch a great cast of actors having fun. Or they're too focused on their favourite actor who is not the star of this film. For me, it's a classic, one of the best sequels ever made and a 4 star movie in my book.

However, where there is good praise at first comes the bad news. Unlike the first DVD for Cannonball run, this one has been totally ignored by Warner. There is nothing about this DVD that makes it stand out or make it worth replacing that old VHS copy. The quality is not really good; it has speckles in many places, noticeable ones. The sound is a bit shoddy now and then. There is no bonus features, no nothing: Just the movie. Not even subtitles where included. There is nothing at all but a menu with a picture of the image on the cover, and 2 options to play the movie or select a scene: Not even a trailer.

I love this movie, so I had to get it no matter what it had included with it. But for those of you who like a good reason to buy a DVD `cause of some nice bonus goodies, then this one will leave you sore. They could have at least got Hal to do a commentary track like the first one. And the deleted scene Hal talks about on the 1st movies commentary of Burt and Shirley's heart warming special scene they wanted to do.

If you like the movie, you might be a bit disappointed in the shoddy VHS looking image quality, lack of bonus features, And in full screen only. Still, it's at a good enough price for it to not matter.
