Summary: A Martial Arts Masterpiece (DVD remaster is faultless)
Review: The film needs no intrduction as it the best martial arts film ever made. The DVD is a masterpeice of digital technology, the re-mastering provides a peerless video quality which looks as if it was filmed this year only the clothes & hair styles give it away. Its matched with The re-mastered 5.1 AC3 soundtrack which is crystal clear. The film is complete with all deleted scened restored. I only wish Lee could have had a few more bouts as his fighting was all too short until the final scenes. Look out for a young unbilled Jackie Chan in the mass fight sequence near the end.The DVD extras whilst good and plenty are a bit repetative especially the 10 or so trailers and there is an excellent Lee documentary which is out there but sadly not included (one which shows James Coburn recalling how Lee tried to teach him the one inch Punch!). In all The DVD is double sided and one side is devoted to extras so you really can't complain. The only thing that really is sad is the knowledge that Lee died shortly after completion and most of his other films are an insult to his memory (many are patched together out takes using lookalikes etc.) Buy it!! your collection is not complete without this film. As always best viewed on a big widescreen with muscular AVI set up.

Summary: Still the Best
Review: While some of the dialogue seems somewhat hokey, 25 years later, this movie still boasts some of the finest displays of martial arts skill seen on film. Lee's spectacular fight with the guards in the subterranean chambers is, in my humble opinion, the single greatest martial arts battle ever filmed. Bruce Lee's onscreen intensity and ferocity has never been matched by anyone before or since. Buy the widescreen version to get the full impact of Bruce Lee's artistry.

Review: Even though Bruce's time w/us was brief, it was quite astounding the affect he had on us. With only a handful of films to his credit, his impact will last forever."Enter the Dragon" will be the film all martial art movies will be judged by. Bruce Lee's charisma, mannerisms, and the way he took control of a scene proved he was someone special. Even if your not one for the arts, just watching Bruce in "Enter the Dragon" will make you appreciate his skills and talents. So check this film out and treat yourself too the one and only "DRAGON". Summary: Bruce Lee-The Martial Arts God
Review: First I want to say to the comment above, Return of the Dragon is when Bruce Lee fights Chuck Norris in Rome. I love all of Bruce's movies and this is no exception. Being there was only 5 movies and one tv show starring actually him (the others aren't him), you can't leave any out if you want the full experience of The Dragon.

Summary: A good treat
Review: This new release is quite a good treat, especially for Bruce Lee newly fans as it contains "Enter the Dragon" movie (1973), "A Warrior's Journey" documentay (2001) & "Curse of the Dragon" documentary (1993) all in one 2-discs special edition.

Additionally, it also contains the "Bruce Lee - In his own words" documentary (1998), Linda Lee interview, loads of trailers & TV spots...

For an old fan like myself, the only special thing in this 2-discs special edition is the "Blood & Steel - The making of Enter the Dragon" documentary. Pity that it was only about 30 mins. It contains new unreleased footage captured in Ahna Capri's video-cam back in 1973. Some glimpse of Bruce in the footage, one with Bruce lifting one leg & spinning around (wonder what he was doing?). Some other scenes showing Bruce smiling (Charisma on-screen & off-screen, tell me about it! Bruce is just so unique & captivating). Another showing Bruce put a coat over Ahna Capri (wonder what he was doing!! lol)

I am also glad to see "Curse of the Dragon" documentary included in this DVD boxset. In my memory, I do not remember this documentary being released in DVD by Warner.

One disappointing side though, the Game of Death lost footage in "A Warrior's Journey" documentary appears frail in DVD quality as compared to the HK Legends' release of the "Game of Death - Platinum Edition" version. I would recommed any Bruce Lee fan to also get the latter because of the high DVD quality & other special features. Furthermore, these 2 versions showcasing the lost footage fight scenes vary a little, with Bruce appearing a bit more in one version & less in the other version & vice versa.

Being a fanatic Bruce Lee fan, I have in fact already owned the 25th anniversary edition "Enter the Dragon" DVD, "A Warrior's Journey" DVD, & "Curse of the Dragon" VCD. So unless you are an average Bruce Lee fan, be prepared to part with some money.

To all Bruce Lee newly fans, I say to you what Bruce said to Karrem in the Game of Death lost footage: "What you are waiting for??!!"

All in all, I would give it a 5 stars rating for a nice collection in a 2-dics special edition.

Summary: ULTIMATE KUNG FU CLASSIC
Review: ENTER THE DRAGON Two-Disc Special Edition (Warner) is not only the best Bruce Lee movie but the best Kung Fu film (sorry, Quentin). It's been 30 years since Lee's untimely death andfor me, he's still the ultimate martial arts action guy in the movies.

This double disc has several compelling documentaries that examine Lee's life and skills. A special treat is previously unseen footage of Lee in action.

Disc Two includes John Little's feature length biography Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey with a meticulous reconstruction of Lee's intended cut of The Game of Death.

Summary: Classic of the genre
Review: This was the last movie Lee completed before his untimely death. Although filmed in Hong Kong, it was the first major kung fu movie done by a Hollywood production company, and became the archetype for literally hundreds of other movies in the chop-socky genre that followed it, and paved the way for the other martial arts franchises by Stephen Segal, van Damme, and others. I've also read it was the only one of Lee's films that used his real voice, rather than being dubbed.

Lee, John Saxon, and Jim Kelly star as the intrepid threesome of fighters who travel to the evil Han's island stronghold to participate in his annual martial arts tournament. With supporting martial artists such as Bob Wall, the redoubtable Bolo Yeung (who always deserved to be more famous than he became) the movie sports plenty of great fight scenes where Lee literally takes on dozens of assailants as well as the duels during the official martial arts competition. Lee is of course unbeatable as well as his comrades.

Filmed in 1973, the radical 60s weren't yet a distant memory, and the movie benefits from that progressive influence and ambience in that we have a Chinese, white, and a black man fighting side by side as if that's the most natural thing in the world as they go around showing their martial arts mettle at the tournament, or trouncing Han's bad guys in the final big melee at the end of the movie. The multi-ethnic team of martial arts brothers is unbeatable and unstoppable and Han's bad guys are no match for their courage and skill.

The movie had the most elaborately choreographed fight scenes ever attempted up till that time, and it wasn't uncommon for the actors to rehearse for 12 hours to get a couple of minutes of actual movie footage. If you consider all the actual action scene time in the move, you can see how much work all the fighers and actors must have put in.

The plot is a campy fusion of James Bond and chop-socky. Lee plays a British agent who's trying to get the goods on the evil Han, using the tournament as his cover during the day. But at night, he's prowling around Han's base and beating the crap out of his guards and lackeys as he searches for evidence to incriminate Han. But if you're like me, the actual story was just filler, with the real fun being getting to watch all these great martial artists, many of whom were still in their prime, show their stuff.

Summary: Wow!!! This is really jam-packed with bonus materials!!!
Review: As a Bruce Lee's fan since childhood,i'm really glad to see this special anniversary edition dvd... reason being it contained two of the best bruce lee's documentries ever released... hw else will u describe "bruce lee: a warrior journey", "bruce lee: curse of the dragon" ....The former have to be the most exciting bruce lee's documentry ever as it included the unseen footage of "Game of Death" as it should be seen!!!(G.O.D, the 70's movie is a big insult to bruce lee, hated it to the core, nw i don't have to endure it juz to see the pagoda scenes) seeing these footage made me felt like i was watching a new bruce's movie!!! Thank God for John Little....

For the other bonus materials, i recommended the "enter the dragon" featurette as it showed hw the movie came about with rare footages of the sets and fliming process... the documentry "blood and steel: making of enter the dragon" pales in comparison.... the tv spots, theatrical trailers are also very entertaining as it provided a peek as to hw this movie was promoted back then in the 70's....

Lastly for the movie, i felt tt "enter the dragon" is the most accessible bruce lee's movie for the non-asian crowd... reasons being the James Bond-like scenes, the inclusion of John Saxon n Jim Kelly along with Bruce to form a trio of adventurers n the magnificent sets made the flim looked more like a Hollywood action thriller than a Hong Kong kung fu movie (tt's the intention of Warner Bros obviously... though it's a US-HK co-production)... but if u really want to see the glory of bruce's, i recommended "Way of the Dragon" (aka "Return of the Dragon" in the US), which bruce produced, directed and acted.... n who can forget the fantastic coliuseum finale where bruce duel with Chuck Norris?

In conclusion, this special anniversary edition of "enter the dragon" is a steal... with all the great bonus materials which caused me to spend days watching (at least 3 of the documentries r 90mins and above)... even if u r not a bruce lee fan, u should buy it due to the above reason alone.... as for bruce lee's fan, this will be the most valuable piece in your bruce lee's dvds collection yet....
