Summary: Extremely silly, stupid and bad. It's great!
Review: This movie is so bad it hurts. It's incredibly campy and silly, a wonderful parody. I'd say a definate must for Johnny Depp fans (and I can't say I'm one of them) and for anyone who enjoys a good laugh at stupidly silly films. No smart comedy hear, no deep message or meaning, just a hilarious spoof filled with catchy songs and dance moves. A good rainy day film, or for cheering you up, though I think if you were really in a bad mood this movie would just seem stupid and make you want to scream. Still, not bad when you want a laugh. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone looking for witty comedy or a serious or engaging film, just someone ready for a silly and over-the-top movie filled with song and dance and tons of unbelievabley stereotyped fun characters.

4-stars for a quirky and silly movie. Nothing extrodinary, but still fun!

Review: This movie is a great film for teens, and pre-teens, i saw this movie when i was twelve, and i am now 13, turning 14 in a couple of months, anyways, this movie,is well scripted, and gives off, a , lets say sexual vibe, but also is a square/ greaser movie.

Summary: Dreamland days are over
Review: The glory days are long gone. Serial Mom, Cecil B Demented, Crybaby, A Dirty Shame....Maybe John Waters should make independent art films. He went to the big studios and hasn't made a decent film since. Shame, I will always be a John Waters admirer but the last several films he made just don't cut the mustard. Melanie Griffith, Kathleen Turner, Johnny Depp, in a John Waters film? Come on, bring on the un-knowns, or maybe make a film with every old Dreamlander that is still around! "I can get ya a job at the baths Mary"...Ernie where are you? What's next John?

Summary: CRY BABY , HOT JOHNNY
Review: Cry baby (johnny depp) is a motercycling orphen, whos parents were killed in unusual ways. He falls in love with a square named allison, also an orphen. Her preppy freinds get him arrested, and the slu....ime I mean Slime, thats been chasing him convinces allison and the whole town that shes carrying his baby. Allison reverts to her square former self and vows not to forgive him, untill she finds out the truth. From there it's just a hop skip and a riviting dance number till cry baby is pardoned by the mayor. Did I mention this was a musical? Oh yeah.. It's a musical, but the songs arent conventional, They're awesome! The whol movie is hilarious, spoofing the teenangst musicals os the era. I highly recommend you watch it, again, and again, and again, and again , and again, and again, and again, and agian...etc...
P.S. Johnny Depp is F*I*N*E

Summary: Johnny as a Rebel, YAY!
Review: I just want to say that this movie is a must for Johnny Depp fans. It wsa actually the 1st in my collection.Wade "Cry- Baby" Walker, is an awesome guy. I feel in love with Johnny's character the moment he touched the screen. A little known fact is that JD actually took the rebel role because a lot of people said that his character Tom Hanson (21 Jumpstreet) was a rebel, when in reality it wasn't. This movie was that start of the heart throb, Johnny Depp of today. Once you see this movie, you will fall in love with it.

Summary: Johnny Depp All The Way!!!
Review: I have so many great memories involving this movie. I saw it on Showtime when I was like, 6, and my mom was like, "now you're gonna want me to tape that for you, huh?" and I was like, "hellz yea!" when I saw him in that white/black jacket singing at the Jukebox Jamboree and any scene he's in in "Please Mr. Jailer". Mmm mmm...17 years later I still get chills watching that scene because of how freakin' fine he is. This is truly my favorite Johnny Depp movie, even if the acting is so-so and nobody's singing their own songs. ;-D

Summary: Rent this instead of Grease. At least this has Iggy.
Review: Here is another John Waters film, and my least favorite despite the presence of Johnny Depp, Iggy Pop, and Willem Dafoe. I'm just not fond of fifties kitsch in any respect, whether it is appreciating or parodying the era. I'm really not interested. The only thing that is worth examining in the fifties was the prevalence of the beat generation. If anything else in the popular culture of the time, its an era to revisit to show how humans will so willingly allow themselves to be repressed and how that effects their psyche, but even this is just trite.

Here we have a jolly look at exuberant 1950s grease-style culture told through an eyeglass of humor, of respect, and of crudeness. Everyone looks pretty, and there is a battle between cariacatures of 1950s stereotypes; squares and greasers. Of course the greasers 'win', and are able to attain their power through their excellent handling of music. Nothing too profound is determined, and nothing too lewd is presented. There are moments that allude to something deeper, and moments that are obviously quite crude, but nothing really goes too far.

Basically, its a film that isn't bad. I would recommend it as the first film for anyone who hasn't seen John Waters films and might have a difficult time receiving something more extreme. 1950s cheese can be very enjoyable for some, and admittedly it definitely is somewhat despite my straightforward dislike for the era. Its something that lacks a great deal in many ways, but doesn't lack as much as the overrated Grease counterpart. At least it makes an effort to be more interesting, and oddly enough, through light trash and silliness, manages to have far more depth.

Summary: Cry-Baby is coming to DVD
Review: I just read an interview with Mr. Waters and Cry-Baby is coming to DVD. It's going to be a "director's cut" so maybe it'll be good, or maybe they'll mess it up. Johnny Depp'll be doing commentary. It'll probably have some other cool stuff on it. That's it....
