Review: I recently bought this film on widescreen and can't wait to watch it on that format. The first time I saw Lost Highway, I shamefully turned it off half way through, losing all patience with it. But! for some odd reason I knew one day I would rent it again....... ooh. The trick to this movie is to just give it a chance! Do not by any means, overanalyze it. Let the film take it's course because it will bedazzle you! The subtlety and moodiness of Lost Highway set the tone, and the characters are just there looking as dumbfounded as we are. Richard Pryor even makes a cameo appearance only adding to the bizarre nature of this film. I read EVERY review to this film and I have come to the conclusion that alot of you just didn't get it, you may even feel a bit bamboozled. One reviewer described it like this: "IT JUST DIDN'T MAKE 'SENSCE'". Perfect example! If you are smart, you like Lost Highway. If you're dumb..............you go figure it out!

Review: This movie was okay. I can see people comparing it to "art". But, c'mon, people, why can't anyone fess up to the fact that Lynch is basically just tooling around with all of us? Perhaps the goal of the movie was to get us thinking about the meaning of which there is none? Perhaps he just wanted us to have our own interpretation? Perhaps there is no real answer? It's just a notion of mine. Why is it, for something to be truly artsy it has to have a red balloon that pops causing the sun to eclipse or a man dying and becoming someone else? I've seen plenty of reality shattering movies that don't take it to the extreme Lynch did. Look at Dark City, Devil's Advocate, City of Lost Children, Closetland, The Matrix, etc. These are all movies that didn't go over our head but didn't underestimate us either. In LH's case, I think it underestimated us AND went over our heads. Sad really. I'm a huge Twin Peaks fan. I just don't see what all the fuss is about with this project. Theo

Review: This move lost my intrsest at the beggining except for a few scenes but you have to wait for a while until it gets somewhere. Definetely not for someone who is expecting a normal movie, but that's its art.

Review: I can't rate this movie actually. if you think about it who can. It was meant to be this way. i was waiting for an ending to the thing. there was none. but it really gave the feeling of wonder at the end. That's what the movie tried to do in the first place

Review: Destined to be compared to A Clockwork Orange this pyscho journey leaves me even more puzzled and bewildered every time I see it. As I ride down the highway now anytime at night I think of this dramatic bizarre thriller and sometimes even shiver. Accompanied by an awesome soundtrack that perfectly sychronizes with the action and climaxes of the film, the movies swoons to the sounds of David Bowie's "Deranged," NIN, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, and even some jazzy tunes. The most memorable parts include Mr Eddy ramming his Mercedes into an annoying tail-gater and the freaky pale guy, who me and my friends have named Portabello, who calls AND SPEAKS to himself on the phone. This is a definite must see for anyone craving a mind trip. A rush you can ponder forever and still never understand with your friends late at night even after the fifth viewing.

Review: Why does a movie have to have meaning? This movie i believe evokes a dreamlike trance on the viewer, magically casting you into a bizarre world created by the master filmmaker himself, David Lynch. If you just lay back, turn off all the lights, open your mind up a bit and allow yourself to sucumb to the movies spell, you will indeed be taken on a trippy journey along David Lynch's Lost highway.

Review: What else is there to say, but that this movie inspired me to look into film as a serious art form. The fact that we have allowed lynch to do what he does, attests that hope is not all lost.

Review: Okay, it's cryptic. Okay, it's bizarre. Okay, it doesn't make immediate sense. WHO CARES? Looking at some of the other responses from Amazon patrons, a lot of you do. But hear me out. As far as I'm concerned, Lost Highway is one of the most intelligent, frightening and visually (not to mention aurally) stunning films of recent years. Its depiction of a jealous man who kills his adulterous wife, and then becomes (literally) a new man poses a wide range of questions about our Self: who are we really? Why do we do the things we do? The atmosphere is brilliant, Patricia Arquette is the greatest femme fatale of 'em all, and Robert Blake's Mystery Man (i.e. the dark side of the killer) is one creepy dude. So come on all you fast food viewers, put down your new action blockbuster and get into Lost Highway. As Gary Busey's character says, it'll do ya good.

Review: Lost Highway is a concept film. It uses the theory that the story does not matter so much as the theme-that is why things that happen out of the ordinary realm happen-because it is film exploring a certain theme. Visually, Lynch has made a gorgeous film and internally shown psychosis, regression and split personality amazingly. It's not for everyone but it does make sense if you look at it as an abstraction.
