Rating: Summary: The uncut version of Tokyo Decadence Review: Tokyo Decadence is thrid film by R. Murakami. The uncut version of this film is 135 mim. long. I saw it in 1998, and i find it a masterpiece. Is a dark and a painful movie, about death. Is a story of a call-girl, object of a morbid desire, is like a trip to hell. The girl's body is tortured in every possible way, anyway she's searching for love desperately, this quest guide her to the edge of the knife. A lock room movie where is impossible for her to esacape. A very ipressive film about the human condition.
Rating: Summary: Hypnotic! Review: While I loved the eroticism of the film (I will never forget the window scene), I took an additional meaning. Namely, the cause and effects of the unprecedented wealth that was generated as a result of the vastly inflated Stock & Real Estate Markets in Japan. Many of us have felt the effects in one way or another and I feel that the main character is an indirect by product of the times.
