Summary: Self Expressive Decay
Review: The legendary bassist Sid Vicious (Gary Oldman) from the Sex Pistols meets Nancy Spungen (Chloe Webb), a heroin addict, who draws Sid into the addiction of heroin and emotional turmoil. Their relationship is a difficult one that seems to be next to parasitical where Nancy feeds off of Sid's acquired addition causing an emotional tug-of-war. Eventually, Sid attempts to go on tour with the Sex Pistols in the US, but the band cannot keep together due to Sid's gradually declining performances on stage due to the drugs. Sid gives a feeble attempt to launch his solo career with Nancy as his manager, but this too is ill fated. This turns out to be a dance that Sid cannot keep up with, and the future gives the impression of being dark. Sid and Nancy is a film that provides an outstanding performance by the actors and at the end awards the audience with a worthwhile experience.

Summary: Gary Oldman is the best
Review: This is an awsome movie. For anyone who is interested in Sid Vicious it is a great insight to the effect and pshcological mishaps in sid.the only bad thing is that the actress who plays Nancy is butt ugly. This amazing preformance from Gary Oldman must not be missed. If you are a fan of Sid you will cry and if you are not it will leave you very depressed. It is still an excellent film and one wonders what the oscars were thinking in 1986. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: And The Tradition Continues
Review: This Movie Stinks Plain and Simple! The Actors Who Played Sid and Nancy are Both DOG UGLY! Nancy Was a Good Looking Girl and Sid Was a Good Looking Guy. Another Thing That Bothers Me Is That The Actors That Play Sid, Nancy, and Johnny Rotten Do Not Even Slightly Resemble The People They're Trying to Play. 90% Of What Happened in This Movie Did Not Happen in Real Life. The Tradition Continues Whenever Someone Wants to Make a Movie about Something That Happened in Real Life,They Fictionalize it. Example: Man on The Moon, Boys Don't Cry, Titanic, The Basketball Diaries and This Movie. When are They Gonna Learn?
Staw Away From This Movie at All Costs! If You Want to Learn The Truth Watch The Documentary The Filth and The Fury.

Summary: An hilarious cult film!
Review: This movie is hilarious and edgy, well filmed, with a brilliant photography and a good script. Ultimately GARY OLDMAN steals the show. Apart from that... it has little or nothing to do with reality. As a pure entertainment it really works. But when you consider that Sid Vicious was a clown and the Sex Pistols was Johnny Rotten in essence (despite what a guy with a bad mohawk may say), then you can't help but laughing hard at it. The actor that plays Rotten is so bad that makes me wanna puke... his portrayal is absolutely wrong and pathetic. But the movie is still worth watching just because of Gary Oldman, he does a brilliant job and actually makes Sid look cooler than he was.

Summary: I Have Not That Much To Say...
Review: The word "Punker" was a word created by the media of these so called "Punk Rock" bands of today that you see all over television (MTV) and Nirvana was never a Punk band. This movie is one of my top three movies even hough I heard people online saying that some of the scenes in the movie never really happend in real life and were just added but I do not know if that is true or not. Well anyways, this is a great movie to look back on a legendary Punk Rock legend from the 70's named Sid Vicous. That is all I really have to say.

Summary: THE Punk makes a great film topic!
Review: Sid was THE Punk. His story is all important to anyone who wants to know what it was like to be a Punker in the 1970's. The film is well made and beautifully acted by Oldman and Webb. While I think I've heard somewhere along the line that John Lyden (Johnny Rotten) did not like the effort this film still comes across as accurate and sympathetic to a pair of punk kids that may not have been the most deserving of that sympathy.

The Ramones came first and The Clash may have been "The Only Band That Mattered" but it was Sid and the Pistols that will always be remembered as THE Punks. This film helps to confirm this truism.

Summary: Not bad but...
Review: When I saw this movie, I WAS obsessed with it for a while, saw it maybe...God knows how many times...though I'd watch it 2 times a day. I know a lot of people are going to go, "DUH! HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO FIGURE THAT OUT??" but after finding more info on the Pistols and Sid and Nancy in particular, I realized this movie is a freakin fairy tale. It's only BASED on real events, and I don't understand why b/c I know a lot of people would like to know about Sid and Nancy and would like to know what REALLY happened. For example, in the club scene, when Sid knocks reporter "Dick Dent" with a guitar...that really happened, and the reporters name was Nick Kent. Why not use his real name? Everyone already knows...And the fact that Nancy goes to see her GRANDPARENTS when in NY...I'm sure everyone's read Nancy's bio and they KNOW she was at her PARENT'S...what are they trying to conceal? Gee, how subtle. And the very blunt dislike the grandparents show for her and kick her out, that's just not true, but a very obviuos attempt at making Nancy look more wretched and vile than she already is. And last but not least, the only other thing that really made the movie slightly unbearable was the fact that Cloe Webb is so UGLY! Good Christ, Nancy was 20 when she died, Chloe looks FIFTY!! (Just watch the movie and see). I think that Courtney Love would have made a better Nancy as Nancy is now sometimes referred to as "THe Original Courtney Love"
And maybe somebody who wuold know would like to tell me differently but I think they overdid Nancy a LITTLE too much. I mean, nobody is THAT irritating! I've read her mom's bio on her, and that seems to support my statement right. She wasn't THAT immature! I think most of the time she was more [angry] than immature.

Summary: bad
Review: this movie is far away from the true story of sid & nancy to begin with and the acting is awful the directing is bad and the characters are nothing like the real thing this movie makes sid's life look like a joke or game, he died at age 21 from heroine overdose. how could anyone like this awful movie it makes me angry. plus nancy was nothing like the one in the movie the real nancy was extremely repulsive and a major pain... she was rubbed off onto sid and being the rebel he was he liked her. he treated her like [dirt] as well he would tell her to go hooking to get them money. then she got him mixed up hard drugs which killed his motivation for playing bass and eventually killed him. and kurt cobaine nofx anti flag rancid and green day are not punk bands when i read the reviews of this movie it fills me with disgust.
