Summary: Great Mind candy, not eye candy
Review: This movie was very good as is challenges you to keep up on what is happening. There are two realeases of the movie on DVD, one is the American release, one from Canada. I'm assuming this is the Canadan release which is the verson I recommend getting (there are two listed here at Amazon). There is no movie difference, but the canadian release has extras like director commentary, documentaries, etc. and the US version has nothing like this.

Summary: Pure Cronenberg.
Review: Those who love "sci-fi" (i.e. puerile George Lucas ray-guns CGI bulls**t) should stay away from this film. It has an intelligent script, good acting (not wooden Hollywood posturing), clever dialogue, captivating visuals (not facile CGI effects), and a truly mindbending narrative that plays with our perceptions of reality and provides a great deal of cerebral entertainment. As one critic noted, eXistenZ "pulsates with a furtive fury that's pure Cronenberg." In other words, not to be missed.

Summary: This isn't a good movie!!!
Review: Well I saw this movie and it's just horrible. What the heck is supposed to be going on in this movie. There is a whole lot of bizarre stuff, and it all amounts to a whole ton of stupidity.

The whole idea about this movie is that everything is in the "video game world." Well this video game world is so freaking dumb, it makes absolutely no sense and it all adds up to an annoying, frustrating film.
