Summary: I've seen this movie so many times that I can cuss in German
Review: I absolutely love this movie. I am 17 years old and want to be a filmmaker. It is very hard to find good women film directors or good films at all and this movie is definitly good. I saw the trailer for it while watching Run Lola Run and then saw the movie in a used cd store and bought it immediatly. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole film; the music, humor, characters, and most of all the sex scenes that are choreographed with such creativity and beauty. Everyone whom I have forced to see this film has loved it and with good reason. Please rent or buy this film, you will not be sorry.

Summary: Absolutely a MUST SEE!
Review: I am amazed that I found this movie and am able to purchase it here in the states. I had seen this movie while i was studying in germany and as soon as it ended i realized i had no idea what the title was or who was in it. but i knew i had to find it somehow. im not going to summarize the movie here, but its simply fantastic if you love movies which leave you captivated throughout and speachless at the end. Definately a must see film!!!

Summary: Rock On!
Review: I caught this movie, "Bandits", late last night (or should I say, "early this morning?") on the Sundance Movie channel. I missed the very beginning, but was instantly hooked. The music rocked, and I'm surprised to read that the songs were written by the actresses themselves! This is a movie I'd own -- once I find it for sale somewhere, and I'm definitely ordering the soundtrack!

The movie centers on four girls, each of who have been sent to prison for various reasons, all of who are guilty. They form a rock band, and make a break for it on their way to a performance at a policeman's ball. Hijinks ensue, as they become a popular, best selling rock band. Of course, being wanted and having your face on your album cover is never good. They make a few live performances, and always manage to escape just in time before being caught (although I can't recommend you jump off a very large bridge (sorry, but I'm not familiar with German landmarks, but I'd compare it to the Golden Gate in San Francisco?)). Watching this movie, I began to wonder about the German Police, but I bet foreign countries begin to wonder about American law enforcement after watching an episode of "The Simpsons"... As a final "plus", the music is sung in English, which I, being an English-speaking American, enjoyed. ^_^

For some reason, I keep wanting to compare "Bandits" to "Josie and the Pussycats", but to do so would be comparing apples to oranges -- yeah, both round, but there's not much more in common. "Bandits" is a dark, deep movie, while "Josie" is a fun, brainless comedy (which is good for the body every once in a while). I equally enjoyed both movies, but for different reasons, and wouldn't necessarily recommend "Bandits" to the average American who enjoyed "Josie". "Bandits" is a movie that was fun, but had it's dark side, too.

It also brought up a interesting question: do I want to see girls who robed banks and murdered people escape to South America, or be sent back to prison? Was Emma justified in what she did?

Overall a great movie, some very cool editing tricks I'll have to "steal", and a powerful, well written soundtrack.

Summary: Amazin'
Review: I first saw Bandits because I'd get extra credit for my German class, but after five minutes I was enthralled. The plot hooked me right away, I didn't even notice the subtitles, and the characters were all very complex and interesting to think about. Besides all this, the music was just amazing. I got home and immediately ordered the cd. An all around great flick.

Summary: i wanna be a criminal rock star!
Review: i loved this German movie....my favorite since Run Lola Run! I was singing the songs for weeks after seeing this film. Its a drama, comedy and love story all in one. Most movies that attempt to do this fail, but this one came through wil flying colors! you must see it!

Summary: Talented!
Review: I never heard of the group Bandits until after I saw this movie. It was great! The music was fantastic and the acting was superb, considering they are musicians. These women are very talented!

Summary: Great Movie!
Review: I saw this movie at the film festival a couple years ago and it's been my favorite movie ever since. After about 10 minutes I felt like I could speak German, the subtitles completely forgotten. It reminds me of Thelma and Louise -- a great friendship/adventure movie with fabulous music to boot. They even found their own Brad Pitt.

Summary: Finally a cool German movie
Review: I've been looking for German movies on DVD ever since I got one. Ever since I've seen this movie called Bandits, I realized that it ranks up there with some of the best. I highly recommend this movie which is about a group of female prison inmates who use the fact that they are band members to make an escape to freedom. There's also some really good musik in this movie as well, which makes this movie great to watch.
