Summary: Excellent
Review: Excellent movie, well worth seeing. The movie is in French with English subtitles. Beautiful photography. French legend of the Beast of Gevaudan, which allegedly was responsible for the violent deaths of over 100 persons in the mid-18th century during the reign of King Louis XV. Fight scenes in this movie are truly spetacular (regular speed and slow motion) and to me that's what sets the movie apart. A surprising ending to an already intriguing plot.

Summary: A great european film
Review: I saw this movie when it just came out in theatres and many of my friends right away started talking about how this is another european movie that doesnt make sense. Well, they were surprised to see how great this movie is. It's packed with action through the martial-arts of Mark Dacascos and Samuel Le Bihan (the two main characters of the movie), it's packed with drama and suspense-all of which, with the story, make Brotherhood of the Wolf a great movie to watch for potentially all viewers who basically enjoy fun movies (such as this one)!!!

Summary: Where's Kermit?
Review: For a fan of the muppets, I was looking forward to a colaboration between the French and one of the late Jim Henson's enterprizes. It had so many possibilities for Kermit and Miss Piggy. They could have had Fozzy Bear come in and take on the wolf-thing. At least the sex scenes were done tastefully.

Summary: Terrific movie with a bare bones American release
Review: But do not worry. If you read Stevenseattle's review then take heart as it is being released as a 3 disc SE Region 1 in Canada. The disc will play on American dvd players absolutely fine. The American release which comes out the same day is virtually featureless.

Summary: Worth the wait.....
Review: I saw Brotherhood of the Wolf during its US release. I could not have been more impressed with a movie. The action sequences and cinematography are truly a feast for the eyes. I've been waiting so long for the US release onto DVD. I look forward to seeing the movie without sub-titles (I hope the DVD includes an English Language version like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). This movie is a welcome edition to my DVD collection.

Summary: Great surprise hit movie! Fantasy horror at its best!
Review: This was one of the all time best movies I have seen in a while.
What a pleasant surprise it was to see both great action and a great storyline all rolled into one. This movie was much more than it appeared in both looks and story.
Definately worth seeing and owning on DVD.
If you like great action and adventure in a horror setting, plus beautiful scenery and very good actors - this ones for you!

Summary: stevenseattle's review is about the LIMITED FRENCH release
Review: I love the movie, best movie of the year, but I warn you people: DO NOT BUY THIS DVD EXPECTING TO FIND ALL THE FEATURES THAT [ONE REVIEWER] TALKED ABOUT! That is the LIMITED edition available ONLY in French, no subtitles...Maybe someday it'll come out in English, but for now, just stick with the normal DVD.

Can't wait for it to come out here!

Summary: Brotherhood is Awesome
Review: Brotherhood of the Wolf is one of the best foreign movies I have ever seen. There are some plot and character issues, but the cinematography is absolutely amazing. It redefines what a movie should look like!

Summary: Really cool movie but did you notice?
Review: I thought the film had a really good story and the action sequences were amazing. The creature looked cool too, but as I sat watching this film with my manager at one of our midnight screenings at the theatre I worked at, I wondered--had I seen this movie before? In a way, this film is a remake of Jaws. It begins with a girl alone getting killed and thrown against a rock, then a number of hunters go out and slaughter a bunch of wolves that they think committed the murder, ultimately to find three brave men to go into the woods by themselves to face the unseen beast. Obviously no martial arts to be found in Jaws, so this element was very well handed with amazing sound effects. This film will benefit with surround sound. I hope the dvd has alot of extras, but if not, the film itself is worth a look or a place on your shelf.

Summary: Brotherhood Of The Wolf
Review: ...Brotherhood Of The Wolf is a seductively stylish film that uniquely blends the conventions of the horror, romance, action, period piece, and kung fu genres to create a story and a theme that is emotionally and intellectually resonant...Many of our greatest film directors model their films for their audience in much the same way dreams effect the dreamer.

If you have not forgotten how to appreciate your dreams...I urge you watch this film. Beautiful, powerful, and provocative!
