Summary: Do you need a good laugh soon?
Review: ...If so, and you like Peter Sellers, you'll enjoy this film. It is so wacky and so 60's! Peter Sellers is so cool in this film! It's my second favorite Peter Sellers film, next to "Lolita." Victor Mature in a comedy role? Yes, and he's great. Don't forget to buy the CD soundtrack for this film. Those Burt Bacharach tunes are wonderful.

Summary: HILARIOUS
Review: ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! I laughed until I hurt. Sellers outdoes himself - as usual. This film (through Sellers) captures the sophistication and hilarity of Italian humor, and translates it into English. Sellers and the supporting cast score in scene after scene. A must see. I would have given it 6 stars, but..[I] stoped at 5.

Summary: The Master at work!
Review: After The Fox is one of Sellers lesser known 60's film comedies -sadly overlooked at the Box Office during it's day, many now adore this film when then watch it for the first time on TV.

Sellers, in my opinion, (and many millions of others), the greatest film comedian of all time, displays his usual brilliance of comedic timing and caricature; the film has an almost dreamy atmosphere and makes one lust for a visit to the land the film is portrayed in!

Balsam is brilliant, Victor Mature is a revelation, ...indeed the supporting cast with the possible exception of Ms Ekland is quite superb.

It's a well known fact the Peter Sellers did not altogether see eye to eye with the film's legendary director De Sica, and there were script changes aplenty, so it's somewhat surprising the end result is so very, very funny. It could not be duplicated today in any shape or form! Watch it, and laugh & smile!

More sand, more sand!!!

Summary: A Very Funny Movie
Review: Directed by Vittorio De Sica Peter Sellers portrays the elusive Italian criminal "The Fox" who concocts an outrageous heist with an unknowing over-the-hill Hollywood hunk Tony Powell played brilliantly by Victor Mature to hijack gold bullion into a little Italian seaside villa. Britt Ekland is Sellers' sister Gina Romantica an unwitting newcomer female lead to unwitting lead Tony Powell. Martin Balsam is excellent as Tony Powell's suspicious manager. This is one of Peter Sellers' best movies and perhaps his funniest. This very funny film has an undercurrent that pokes fun at internationally produced films as the glory days of Hollywood were in their death throes and the audiences that will pay to see anything on the silver screen. Thus, we see a director who is not really a director and a Hollywood star that really can't act. But who really cares? Life itself can sometimes be one big farce and I that is the real success of this movie and why it is so funny. Burt Bacharach outdid himself with his intuitive and humorous score for this movie. This is one of the most underrated comedies of all time.

Summary: sellers best
Review: For those of us who love Peter Sellers this is a must see! The cast is one of the best ever assembled: Peter Sellers, Victor Mature, Akim Tamiroff, Brit Ekland,Martin Balsam, and some very funny Italian actors also.I say they are the best because the casting was so right on . This is so far ahead of the Pink Panther movies and is even funnier than The Party. This is also a great movie for those who like 60's movies.

Summary: Funniest Sellers' movie ever
Review: Hillarious movie, better and funnier than his Pink Panther movies. Same type of humor, but he's sharper and cagier. Extremely funny con man. Every supporting member is equally funny. They all blend together to form a true picture of the hillarity and innocence that is a part of the Italian way of life. Nothing is taken too seriously, except a sister's honor and a son's devotion. All his friends are nuts and look to "the Fox" for inspiration and leadership. A wonderful film!

Summary: Sellers was a comic genius
Review: I am only 22 years old. My father introduced me to Seller's comedies and after his passing away, i have now begun to realize why he loved his movies so much. This movie is simply nothing but one hilarious scene after another (i've seen it more than 5 times), not to mention the music is fabulous and goes along perfectly with every scene. Seller's girlfriend is quite a hottie and I always can remember the first scene when she bears it all for the gold. Quite a body she's got under that Burqa.

Sellers was really one of the best comedians in English cinema. This isn't slapstick like Jerry Lewis folks, but a kind of unique comedy that takes a little time to come into your senses. I have seen most of Seller's movies and i love them all. thank you to such a great star who's no longer with us.

Summary: Our Family's Cult Classic
Review: If you haven't been to Italy you won't 'get' this film. If you have, you'll agree this is the best of Sellers and Simon. Stellar contributions by Mature, Balsam and Eckland. Gags are a weird combo of obvious and intellectual. For 20 years our whole family's favorite.
