Rating: Summary: ..and I shall go on living. Review: Truly, Madly... is one of my all-time favorite movies. It plays out a scenario that anyone who has lost a dear loved one can relate to. We see Nina in unconsolable grief over her loss--when to her shock then utter delight, her love returns. And for a time she builds her life around him, living in a fairy-tale-world. As time goes by she finds herself reluctantly being drawn back to reality. The poem by Pablo Neruda offered in Spanish for her to translate is the poignantly bittersweet turning point. This film should not be missed--I,m so glad to own a copy. Now all I need to do is find Bach's wonderful cello/piano duet.
Rating: Summary: A Must Have for collectors of romantic movies. Review: A story of a young widow who cannot let go of her deceased Love. This movie will move you to tears as Nina goes through the painful yet hopeful process of learning to let her husband go, and more importantly, learning to love again. If you cannot buy it, RENT IT!
Rating: Summary: Saw it, want it! Review: I'm so amazed we didn't know about this before now. It's one of the most wonderful and romantic movies I've ever seen. What can we do to get it re-released?
Rating: Summary: Truly, Madly, Deeply Review: I think is one of the best movies I ever seen. I saw it on TV and since then I'm searching for it. Please someone help me to get it. At least I would like to have the poem that Nina wrote Jamie when she decided to continue her life.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite movies ever! Review: I loved this movie! It approaches a tragic topic with unreality while being totally realistic and believable. The entire cast is exceptional. The film can seem to drag some, but I would strongly encourage you to reset your pace and settle in as you would while savoring a complex poem or book. It will be worth it! The premise of this film is unique and the plot is wonderful. How could it possibly be resolved? You'll have to watch to see, but drag out a box of tissues when you do. I love the cello solo at the beginning of the film and the little duet the main characters do together later! I feel truly sorry for the unfortunate ones who wrote here about not being able to find this film. I am a lucky one who bought a copy a few years ago. And I hope as everyone else does that this film will be re-released!
Rating: Summary: PLEASE re-release T,M,D! Review: This was a wonderful film! I agree with all the other comments, and I'd really love to have a copy of it.
Rating: Summary: It's the BEST - Please re-release it! Review: I, too, agree that this is a 5-star movie. I saw it with my husband several years ago and have been trying to find it to add to my collection since then. I cannot believe that such a quality film is not available for home screening! Maybe if we scream loud enough, they will listen!
Rating: Summary: Sun ain't gonna shine anymore Review: My tough-guy husband cried. Need I say more? The support and sacrifice evident in this film are moving, and it's wonderful to see such a talented actor as Rickman doing something other than being the bad-guy, the stereotype he's fallen into in the US. The rest of the cast does a stunning job, and they all look like real people. They didn't spend hours with plastic surgeons, and their real-life looks helped us to be even more involved in the evolution of the relationships. We want it. Please re-release this video.
Rating: Summary: Truly, Madly, Deeply Review: This film needs to be re-released not only on VHS but also on DVD. Very intelligent, poingnant, moving, surreal and funny.
Rating: Summary: A parable for a lost love Review: This is a beautiful story. It is a tale of exorcism, but not in the obvious sense. The literal story has pathos, humour and joy but beneath that is the journey to escape the bonds of a lost love. Jamie's return could be the invention of Nina's tortured mind to make that transition possible. Here is a lesson in dealing with grief and bereavement. I cannot recommend this film highly enough & I pray for a re-release as soon as possible so I can share this joy with others who have not yet experienced it. You have a treat in store :-)
