Rating: Summary: LIFE - CHANGING, RIVETING AND DEFINATELY ONE TO WATCH Review: I WAS BORN IN ZIMBABWE IN 1979 AND HAVE GROWN UP WITH THE CHANGES HAPPENING IN BOTH MY COUNTRY AND OUR SOUTHERN NEIGHBOURS. I HAVE NEVER WATCHED A FILM WITH SUCH DEPTH AND SUCH HONESTY AS THIS.MORGAN PERFORMS LIKE NEVER BEFORE AND UNDOUBTEDLY PUTS ACROSS THE EMOTION AND FEELING THAT HAS MADE THIS FILM MEAN MORE TO ME THAN ANY OTHER. IN THE WORDS OF WISDOM "LET US ALL BE RAIN-MAKERS". IF YOU CAN ONLY WATCH ONE FILM IN LIFE.......DONT MISS THIS ONE.
Rating: Summary: This Movie is a Pencil Sketch - the Book is an Oil Painting Review: The movie is quite good, but can't begin to tap the depths of feeling the book conveys. However, the movie retains its focus a little better than the book did. If you can't stand to read, see the movie. Otherwise, go straight to the books section and buy the novel. Then buy the soundtrack and listen to Hans Zimmer's excellent African folk music score.
Rating: Summary: Easily one of the Best I've Ever Seen!!!!! Review: This movie captured the precise feeling of apartheid, while showing an amazing story behind PK. Although incredibly sad at times, in the end the movie really tears your heart apart, just to give it a happy ending!
Rating: Summary: Inspiration to all Review: Even if things fall a little too easily into place for PK, this is a gorgeous movie with inspiration for everyone! I love how PK pulls himself together after the terrible boarding school experiences and realizes the Power we all have. My dream is to visit South Africa someday, and this has only added to my yearning! Read the book, too!
Rating: Summary: Read the book, if you can't: watch the movie Review: The movie is quite good, and I loved it when I first saw it. But after readng the book, I realized how inadequate the movie was at capturing the full spirit of the novel. Without the burden of a love interest, and with many fascinating and important plot differences, the book expresses the power of the human spirit. It is my favorite book, and I feel that all people who've missed reading it, have really missed out on something. READ THE BOOK TODAY
Rating: Summary: Riviting, best movie of all time. Review: I loved this movie. It had a great story to teach about getting along. I recommend this movie to everyone.
Rating: Summary: One of the best movies I have ever seen Review: I have seen this movie at least 5 times and will probably watch it 5 more times. It is one of the most moving films I have ever seen and I recommend it to everyone.
Rating: Summary: This is one of the best movies, I have ever seen. Review: I just finished watching this movie in one of my classes, and it was amazing. I cried everyday that we watched it. My teacher, who lived in Africa for 20 years, said the movie downplays a lot of the hatred that is actually present. You can learn a lot by watching this film, not only about Africa but about yourself.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie! Review: I think that this is one of the best movies ever! It has a good historical contex, and isn't doring. The movie is great to express to children what was going on during the segregation age in South Africa (RSA).
Rating: Summary: There is no better film !!!! Review: I must have seen the film up to 17 times and I still enjoy watching it. I know every detail and I know the lines by heart. This film means a lot to me. And as I sit hear, typing all this I really hope that there is a real Peekay out there!! I liked the book aswell. If you have no believe in the world, you must see the film! You must know the Power of One! Every one must see it!!!
