Summary: The Boy, the Wheelchair, and That Haunted House.
Review: There's something about low-budget horror movies that have a greater impact than their Hollywood counterparts. I thought I'd seen every good horror movie on the market until a co-worker had me borrow this DVD. 1980's "The Changeling" is a quintessential low-budget vintage horror movie, done in that classic late-1970's style. George C. Scott is a widower who is walking wounded following the freakish death of his wife and child (without giving away details, the opening scene is a hair-raiser and sets the tone for the rest of the movie). He moves into a giant, towering mansion to work on his music and recover from his tragic loss. But a few moments later, weird things happen inside the house. Piano keys play by themselves. Voices start speaking. And loud, banging noises happen out of nowhere. Come to find out, the house is haunted by a child. The movie then pursues a murder mystery in which we discover the boy's identity and the history of the house. Unlike most thrillers, "The Changeling" doesn't have much gore, but it has enough intense and spooky moments to make this film earn an R rating. Instead of aiming for shock, this movie effectively works on the viewer's emotions and has a reasonably interesting plot. I wouldn't call it the scariest film ever made, but if you're into horror movies of the haunted house variety, then "The Changeling" should rank high on your list of DVDs to get.

Summary: An excellent film...
Review: I remember this movie from my childhood - it's a good thriller, and really makes you think in regard to ethics, and people trying to save face. George C. Scott performs magnificently in the film, and the supernatural aspect of the movie makes it a nail-biter. Enjoy!!

Summary: Super Scary
Review: This is one of the best horror films I've seen. The makers do well to draw tension and fear without using slick special effects. A scary movie that doesn't show you what you're afraid of is the most scary. I would highly recomment this one. Don't watch it by yourself. You'll have to sleep with the lights on for weeks! Happy haunting.

Summary: A Classic
Review: Simply one of the best ghost stories on film. George C. Scott is the thinking person's hero who tries to get to the bottom of a mystery that occured years ago in the house he is renting as he wrestles with the grief of the recent loss of his family. If you have never seen this film, you owe it to yourself to check it out. This is how we made films before CGI, when acting was the hallmark of a good picture.

Summary: What a spooky flick..! -I wish that Haunted is out..!
Review: First of all; -I felt really disturbed by the scene where
George C. Scott's children are accidently killed by the truck
driver [] kills them.. -I have watched this for one reason

is too be scared out of my chair at night..! -I've barrowed
this film from a friend and luckly it was in his collection.
I looked at the picture at the video store and I thought

how stupid the picture looked.. -But; -when I watched the
movie.. -I liked; -George C. Scotts; -acting.. -He does
really well in living in a haunted house.. -He is a music
performer ho heres banging in the middle of night; -he

has a love interest and has these terryfing vision's of a
child being murdered and drowned threw the film.. -But why
did the father or relative responsible for this tragic
kind of thing.. -But; -when he invites some Psychic's
over two get talk with the spirits.. -Their is one

spirit that speaks two him.. -"Joseph.?" -But; -that
really creep me out.. -Every Supernatural movie that deals
with the changeling.. -Terryfies me..! -It's a film tour de

force.. -I compare this too; "The Amityville Horror." -and
"Ghost Story." -That had; -Melvin Douglas. -Which was his
last performance; -he did fine in that..!

I wished that a studio will release.. -The made for T.V.
Movie. -"The Haunted." -Which starred; -Sally Kirkland.
I bet fans of this will have their hair raised for
that..

I even like the musical score.. -The direction looks

great on DVD. -But; -this is those classics that never
will be a great giant marketer..

I even lost my baring that these movies make me want not
too sleep at night..

Well.. -What a spooky flick...

Summary: One Of The Best
Review: One reviewer spoke volumes when stating "if you liked "The Blair Witch Project" you won't like "The Changeling." The former abysmal piece of drivel was poorly written and badly filmed, everything "The Changeling" is not. This Canadian Award winner, in the tradition of "The Uninvited" is a THINKING person's ghost story. Complex and sophisticated in writing and presentation, the story finally revealed is more horrific and sordid than any teen slasher film. Thankfully, it's a film for grown-ups.

Summary: One of the best ALL TIME horror movies
Review: I'll keep this short and sweet. This movie is, in my opinion, the best non-gory scary flick I have seen.....mainly because it actually does have a fairly detailed and logical plot (which has a neat little twist to it, so pay attention). There is also some rivoting suspense....Kept me on the edge of my seat!!!

Summary: Pretty Good Old-School Psychological Horror Flick
Review: If you're expecting a shocking gross-out fest, you might as well stop reading now. However, if you're interested in a film along the lines of "The Uninvited", this is a good bet. George C. Scott is a widower who moves into an apparently haunted house, and becomes the instrument of a Ghost's revenge. The film is very slowly and deliberately paced, and the revelations come slowly, so patience is a must. Overall, it is a film worth watching for Horror fans. The DVD is pretty much extra-free; Just Cast & Crew Bios.

Summary: spooky, but not as great as the reviews
Review: this movie does have some spooky moments, the best being when the wheelchair gets a life of its own and chases the woman down the stairs, very scary, but other than that I was not terrified. The story line is good but I did not like the fact that Scotts character was showing interest in another woman not long after his wife and daughter were killed. That turned me off and soured the whole movie.

Summary: I'm so scared.........NOT!
Review: This is my first review here, but if you don't write one, your rating doesn't count.... I am going to keep ALL of my reviews SHORT.

Most people who read all of these reviews, only want to believe the positive ones, I can kind of imagine that. After all you want a GOOD movie. But you shouldn't always believe them.

Please believe this very short and negative review and rating of " The changeling". It's a very bad movie, it isn't even remotely scary. Ghost-story? Don't make me laugh..... I bought it, because of these positive reviews and I heavily regret it. I'm not going to fall for it again. Please DON'T buy this movie. Avoid it like the plague. Spend your money on a real Horror Movie! If you haven't got or seen it yet, buy "The Blair Witch Project". If you take this movie seriously, it WILL scare you. It scared me a bit and I'm a Hardcore Horror fan.....
