Summary: The only better film ever made is Goodfellas.
Review: For me, this is the holy grail

Summary: Barton Fink delivers twisted thoughts
Review: John Tuturro is a writer who moves to LA on a deal with a movie business, who suffers from writers block and starts to go insane. John Goodman consoles him becomes his friend, but he turns out to be a madman who kills a lot of people. Both Turturo and Goodman are terrific and this movie will take you an a twisted look at insanity.

Summary: A Great movie!
Review: I loved this movie. This, my friends, is Coen brilliance. To Lisa at Entertainment weekly who gave this a D - You must have been tripping on bad acid, because this movie is brilliant. The small things, like that the Hotel Earle was Hell "the 6th floor (666), the way Chet came out of the ground, etc..."

Summary: As weird as I like
Review: yes, even it's a very weak word, I would say that it's a weird movie...well, better to say, it's a coen movie ! So, I really like it, of course, but watch it to give you an opinion.

Summary: A stunning example of how films should be made
Review: Listen up, people. It takes guts to make a film that doesn't blow things up, feature gobs of sex, or create something totally original. And it takes brains to pull it off. The Coen brothers knew exactly what they were doing in this film, and if you're smart enough, you'll catch a few of the symbols. This film is dripping with symbolism. Many, no, MOST people will not like this film, which explains why movies like Armageddon and Independence Day make all the big bucks. Watch this movie, if you can handle it.

Summary: Two hours of brilliant condescension.
Review: Not even close to being one of the Brothers Coen's best films (I prefer "Miller's Crossing," followed by "Fargo" and "The Big Lebowski"), "Barton Fink" seems to have been made as proof of Ethan's philosophy degree (he had to do something with it), as well as asserting the Coens' superiority over Clifford Odets, William Faulkner (in a rather disgusting and fallacious caricature), and, ultimately, you. Having said that, there are far worse ways to spend your evening.

Summary: This is a film that can be read on many levels.
Review: It is full of irony, dense imagery, and the characters are mesmerizing. The John Mahoney character is great; clearly, he is meant to be a Faulkner-like writer, gifted but possessed by the demon of drink. The scene at the end, with all of the fiery, hellish imagery, is incredible. This film confirmed what I had always thought: Hollywood is Hell!

Summary: Beautifully Designed, But Useless
Review: Watch this movie to see several fine actors give fine performances. John Mahoney, John Goodman, Judy Davis, all do good work. The cinematography, art direction, costume design, special effects, sound mixing: all are absolutely first rate. If only the script and direction were up to the standard of the rest of the film.

Summary: This is probably my favorite Coen brothers movie
Review: Anything and everything you ever wanted in a movie by the Coens. Every line is genius and every character, even the smallest bit parts are expertly written and played. Every award this movie has won is well deserved. This movie was done long before the Coens gained wide attention for Fargo--but this is a far superior film in all aspects. Only here can you experience that real Barton Fink feeling. Buy this movie and watch it over and over, you'll find something new every time.

Summary: A true display of Coen excellence
Review: Barton Fink is just a good all-around movie. It demonstrates the Coen brothers genius on so many levels. Once again they produce great charecters in Chet(steve buscemi), charlie(john goodman), and of course Barton Fink(john tuturro). I highly suggest this film to those that enjoyed Fargo and for those that haven't seen it yet.

Warning!!!! ----no action, so those that need buildings blowing up every two seconds to enjoy a movie, don't watch this film, for those that like movie excellence you should enjoy Barton Fink.
