Rating: Summary: WONDERFULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is a wonderful film. A feel good movie, but not in the way you would think. If I had to give up all my movies, and keep only one, It would be this one. It will make you laugh, cry, and be sentimental all in a period of 90 minutes! A keeper. The soundtrack is perfect! Anyone who has been the "ugly duckling" this film is a gem. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Worst Movie ever? NOT! Come on, this is Outrageously Funny. Review: This is an Australian film, so the comedy is not for everyone. But I have to say the the bean bag scene is one of the funniest in film, and I still laugh thinking about it.
Rating: Summary: Subtle, funny, must see! Review: I remember my mother listening to ABBA on her car cassette player in the early 80's, I used to tease her relentlessly but when I borrowed her car as a teenager and forgot my own tapes, I used to sing along to ABBA at the top of my voice (and I still do!). When I first saw this movie, I loved the soundtrack and found the story mildly amusing. Second time around, I realised what a huge amount of humour I'd missed the first time, and the ABBA sound track simply adds to the way this movie takes the mickey. A total hoot.
Rating: Summary: P.J Hogan's masterpiece Review: This is my most favourite film of all time, and I watch a lot of films. It is wonderfully hilarious, and at the same time painstakingly sad. Toni Collette is fantastic, as is Rachel Griffiths. I'm from Australia, and I'm proud to say that this film is australian. Under the comedy, is the realism that depicts suburbian life better than I've ever seen. If you didn't enjoy this film, check your pulse, you may be dead!
Rating: Summary: The Worst Movie Ever Review: This movie was intentionally created to be funny, but to me, it was a major flop. The storyline was extremely unrealistic, and the actors were the worst I've seen. If you have any common sense, do not even rent this movie, let alone buy it.
Rating: Summary: A MUST BUY!! A film for the closeted ABBA fan... Review: This movie is the quintessential Austrailian comedy. It grows on you more & more after each viewing, and you will wear this out like a cheap pair of tennis shoes. Toni Collette is the lead in a cast that would make a great thesis on insanity. Between the father's embezelling, the mother's cleptomania/manic-depressiveness, and Muriel's struggle to find her place in the world, you'll appreciate how great your life really is. Academy Award Nominee Rachel Griffiths plays a powerhouse of a supporting role as an old mate from school who helps Muriel out of her shell. A must those who love ABBA music, andyou will be treated to a heavy dose of it. A MUST BUY!
Rating: Summary: A great film! Review: This movie is one of my favorites. You may not like it the first time you see it, but give it a chance. It will make you laugh, and it will make you cry. It's a must see chic flick!
Rating: Summary: Good rollicking fun! Review: This is a fantastic movie to renew your dampened spirits! For anyone that has ever been the ugly duckling or an outcast, this film will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you see the humor in life. Four Stars!
Rating: Summary: I am an old lady Review: I am an old woman and this kind of dramatic junk is very gothic. If you want to poop up your head in the movie, then, dear Gussy, go for it. I would advize it, because this kind of "depressment" can only ruin your mind and soul, so don't even think about watching it. I give it two thumbs down! :*(
Rating: Summary: I would recommend this movie to anybody ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Review: This movie is about a young woman who wants to get married and prove to her father that she is a somebody, not a nobody like he thinks. It is very dramatic and if you aren't into the group, ABBA, then you shouldn't watch it, otherwise, it is one of the best movies in the world!!!
