Summary: An original masterpiece
Review: This movie is how I wished books were translated on film. The story is engrossing, and you catch something new every time you read it, er, uh, watch it. This is the only movie that makes me feel good about life, even though life itself is not portrayed to be something attainable in this movie. The wonder, the dialogue, the atmosphere, and the characters all meld together in a haunting sci-fi vision that cannot be copied by mainsteam storytelling, and leaves you wondering if "Brazil" is a place not too far away. I can see how some critics originally panned this movie. I'm sure that after a second, or even a tenth viewing, they will walk away with a different attitude. I myself was confused as hell the first time I saw it, but I couldn't deny that it may me "try" to understand. It's those type of movies that you have to see again to fully "get it". I can't believe that this movie isn't among the ranks of true masterpieces.

Summary: Formidable! A triumph!
Review: One of the best, most significant and atonishing films of all time. It is dramatic, terrifying, as real as it gets, and absolutely plausible. The American Film Institute should dig a hole and bury itself in shame for putting movies like "Pulp Fiction" in the 100-best list and leaving master pieces like "Brazil" out. There are no words to describe this movie. Unquestionably fantastic. Get it NOW!!!

Summary: Brilliant
Review: Virtually the same story as Star Wars: good vs evil, or more accurately, democracy vs. bureaucracy. The stiff metal layer of Darth Vader as the executive of a rule-bound "system" defending the organization against those who would expose its subversive structure is very similar to this movie and its overly organized system. The ending is pure genius and reminisent of Plato's cave imagery. I loved it.

Summary: The warped and accurate presentation of bureaucracy
Review: As a member of public service for 22+ years, I found this movie to be excellent !! Robert DeNiro's role of the heating and air-conditioning engineer who would rather work freelance instead of with "Central Services" in order to avoid the paperwork, was absolutely astounding ! I even assigned the form number used in this movie, "27B/6" , to our standard trouble reporting form that is used in our agency. Some of the phrases presented in the movie actually existed with one County Government Agency with which I was employed for six years, specifically the "We are in this together" line, as this was the catch-phrase of our own union and County management. This is a movie that MUST be seen more than once in order to catch all the thought provoking background detail related to intelligence agency operations, and Civil Service in particular. Simply Amazing

Summary: Simply brilliant
Review: Most people will neither follow nor understand this movie. Not recommended for people with little emotional depth and understanding. Assuming you are good enough to watch this movie, you will find it incredibly brilliant and haunting. Otherwise, you'll be wasting your time.

Summary: Watch this more than once!
Review: Do you ever get the feeling you're getting screwed? This is the feel good movie to help you through your woes. The more you watch it the better you understand, you see something you didn't notice from the time before & it get's better with every time you see it. I highly recommend Brazil after you've tride to get something done at the State House, license branch, or you're credit card company!!

Summary: This Movie Rocks!
Review: This movie was sooooo cool! It was very surreal and interesting! It was funny but it was not like the typical laugh out loud material you have come to expect from someone in Monty Python. My advice is to BUY IT! END

Summary: A dark-comedy about an evil future...
Review: This film is simply amazing. It has dialogue that will have you laughing out loud, amazing characters, beautiful and frightening cinematography, rogue repairmen, and a plot that will keep you wondering until the end of the movie... and probably for a long time after it ends. If you are a fan of either Monty Python, or sci-fi, this film is a must in your collection. END

Summary: The most compelling movie, visually and psychologically
Review: This movie is director Terry Gilliam at his best. The compelling story of a man trapped within the clutches of his work and the government, and searching for some escape from it. Jonathan Pryce and Kim Greist give us a stunning performance as two meant to be lovers on a quest for liberation. Michael Palin (Monty Python alumnus) as usual, does some great work as Jack, the interrogator. Along with some great scenes with Robert DeNiro as Harry Tuttle, and Bob Hoskins as the hilarious "Central Services" employee Spor. Along with what is probably the most twisted ending to a film I've ever seen, it is a must see for all. END

Summary: This should get a 15
Review: This is one of the best movies in the world. Of course you must be smart becasue it is kind of confusing. But it has Jonathan Pryce and Michael Palin (The coolest man ever). It also has a little something extra I can't describe. END
