Summary: Shakespeare for everyone.
Review: This movie is so refreshing and exciting that you can't help but be carried away with the atmosphere. Outstanding performances by all, so beliveable and convincing you cry when Hero dies and laugh when Benedick and Beterice fight and fall in love only to fight again. The wit and spontenaity is Shakespeare at his best.

Summary: Dry and rich humor
Review: This is my favorite Shakespearean comedy. I especially like the banter between Beatrice and Benedick, which is very witty if one takes the time to read it. Dogberry's also funny, but Shakespeare was good at writing strong, clever female leads, unusual for his time.

Summary: Too excellent to be missed!
Review: I have rented this movie over 80 times. The video store either loves me or hates me, as I haven't yet been able to buy a copy in my area. The plot is light enough for a relaxed viewing, but also gripping enough to satisfy my boyfriend. This movie is my all-time favourite, and Kenneth Branagh is at his absolute best in this movie.

Summary: Much Ado About Nothing - Great
Review: I am in the 8th grade in Tampa, Florida and we had to read this book. I didn't even understand it until I looked at the translations on the left (which helps clear up words that aren't really used today). I then found out after using this that it was a pretty funny book. I would recommend it to advanced readers.

Summary: PERFECTION!!!
Review: Five stars are not enough! A million stars are not enough! This movie is wonderful! The opening sequence with the men on horse-back, the wonderful music of Patrick Doyle and the beautiful Tuscan scenery is energising. I have watched this movie too many times to say without coming across as sad and each time it gets better. Yes it IS possible! If you want to see a film that energises, inspires, excites, amazes, pleasures and thrills you, "Much Ado About Nothing" is it. Whenever I have to churn out an essay for university, I watch this film and next thing you know, the words are flowing from my pen. For your own good - YOU MUST BUY THIS!

Summary: great adaptation
Review: I think this is a great adaptation of much ado about nothing. Even though people complain about Keanu Reeves he is not at all as bad as people make him out to be. Everyone in this movie does a good job with their parts in my opinion. I like to add that Emma Thompson looks gorgeous in this movie. I like to mostly watch this movie just to look at her. She does not think she is that pretty ,but we know she truly is a sexy woman.

Summary: A feel good film for that raining evening
Review: This is a beautiful film, full of humour, beautiful language, and the clear knowledge that everything is going to turn out well in the end, though how that happens is a surprise I will not spoil. Yes, the language is Shakespeare, but the actors speak it so naturally that you would hardly notice. The scenery (the film was shot on location in Italy) is so light and spacious that it leaves you dying to go to Italy. A feel-good film for an evening when you need cheering up. The American actors easily hold their own with the mainly English cast, proving (as does Al Pacino's brilliant "Looking for Richard") that they need not fear taking on Shakespearian roles (and I'm a Brit in case you think I'm biased!).

Summary: Ah, to live, to love...
Review: The casting, direction, scenery, costume, production, adaptation, everything about this movie just makes you happy to be alive (excepting the oft-cited and blatent shortcomings of Keanu Reaves -- as bad as he is, even he can't sink this great film.) Buy it today -- you will be so glad you did.

Summary: Damn Keanu!!!!!!
Review: I couldn't help but keep a goofy grin plastered across my face throughout this entire movie. Although Keanu Reeves ruins every scene he is in, I'm still giving this film five stars.

Summary: Much Ado About Nothing could be Branagh's best
Review: Trying to pick one of Kenneth Branagh's films as his best is a difficult task. He has done so much good work in such a short time that it's easy to forget how young he is. But if I have to pick just one as his best (and certainly as my favorite) it must be this wonderful comedy. The story of the romance between Hero and Claudio, played excellently by Kate Beckinsale and Robert Sean Leonard, and the comic wooing of Benedick and Beatrice (Branagh and his then-wife Emma Thompson) provides enough smiles, tears and laughs for any ten modern tales. The whole cast sparkles and seems to be having a lot of fun. The young Ms. Beckinsale nearly steals every scene she's in with her portrayal of the lovely innocent and wronged Hero. It's a shame that we don't see more of her work in the U.S. The movie was filmed entirely in an Italian villa and benefits greatly from the beauty and bright sunshine of the location. The costumes are perfect for the tale, all the details are seen to under Mr. Branagh's watchful eye. These love stories are told with perfection. Too many players are unwilling to act as broadly as needed for Shakespearean comedy. Not so here. Branagh as Benedick and the rest of the cast strike just the right bold notes. It takes great talent to bring all this off so wonderfully and there is great talent here, no doubt. The sense of sheer joy and life in this film makes me watch it again and again. The bathing scene during the credits says more about the ecstatic joy of living and loving than anything else on the screen lately. If someone can watch this movie without wanting more Shakespeare they are hopeless. Patrick Doyle's beautiful score is perfect and may be his most interesting ever. The DVD is an excellent medium for this film and the widescreen makes it perfect. I truly can't find more than two words to speak against this film (and he's not on screen enough to matter.) See this beautiful film on DVD. You'll be watching it many times. This must be Kenneth Branagh's best so far. May he continue for many years to bring us this kind of brilliance.
